Miricle and whiskey

Eli's hand felt so perfect like it had been made especially to fit with Luna's, like a jigsaw piece. She held it tightly as they waited together. She felt so differently about Eli now. She saw him, all of him. Not the equipment or robot parts that had been added but she saw every inch of human in him. If anything he seemed more human than her some days.

El made strange sounds as she fell in and out of conscienceless, her body shook as she fought. The room seemed to vibrate a little as her body jolted. The screens flickered and the lights seem to dim, but Luna felt like it was the boss lady somehow watching them.

Luna ran her hands through her hair twisting the ends around her finger, that was the thing she did when she was nervous.

"It's only a matter of time before they find us, Eli,  I miss my bunker and I miss Lucky. I miss the days of thinking I was completely alone on this planet" Luna searched for Eli's eyes to remind her why she was doing this, after all, it was those eyes that had started this whole thing.

He was already there waiting for her green eyes to meet his. Eli spoke quietly to Luna staring right into her eyes.

"Luna, from the moment I woke up, covered in robot blood in your dark bunker that smelt of whisky and old books, I saw your green eyes. Your beautiful eyes ignited me somehow, they even calmed me even though my life had been turned upside down. Somehow your eyes are like summertime and spring and they

bring me to life."

Eli's hands met Luna's face and softly brought her face to meet his. His hands felt warm to Luna.

He could feel her breath on his cheeks. He smiled as he watched Luna's lips, they seemed to hold a smile within those lips, even if she wasn't smiling. He pulled her soft lips onto his and the world didn't seem to be such a bad place after all.

At that moment Luna felt safe, she felt like the world was normal and that must seem crazy because the little voice in her head was still shouting....

Luna, you are in a droids nest with a killer boss lady who wants to probably turn you into one, the world has totally been destroyed and there are only a handful of humans left. Now is not the time to kiss.

A noise brought them back down to earth, El was coming round.

Eli moved closer to his sister waiting for a sign..

"Did it work?" Luna closed her eyes and ran her hands through her hair letting a breath out as she sank back.

"We are going to need a miracle and maybe some whiskey"

Luna walked the room and studied the screens as she looked for anything they could use against the boss lady. she knew this would be impossible but they had no choice they had to pull this off, somehow.

El let out a loud sigh as she came round slowly, her voice was groggy and she was confused.

"Where am I?" Luna walked over and sat down next to her "Hey, it's ok you're safe here. My name is Luna. Can you tell me your name?"

El's eyes closed slowly and then opened as she seemed to try and focus for a moment "El, my name is El" Luna smiled brightly with hope in her eyes "Nice to meet you El"

" What happened to me? I feel strange?" Eli walked over to her slowly so he wouldn't frighten her, he knew he looked a little different now.

Tears ran from El's eyes as she recognised her brother in the half-human half droid that stood in front of her. She looked at her own body and her memories seem to flood back. Like all she really needed was a clout to the head and she remembered everything.

"Eli!" Eli couldn't hold back his emotions as he watched his baby sisters eyes come back to life, just like his had, that day in Luna's bunker. He held her hand and helped her sit up.

"Hello, beautiful.  I'm so happy you remember me" She smiled at her brother

"remember you? how I could I forget you dufus?" Sadness filled her eyes as she wiped them and tried to sit up.

"Thank you for helping me. Somehow They were controlling me." Luna nodded

"Yes, they are controlling all the droids " Luna covered her mouth quickly as she said droid, she didn't want to upset El.

"I'm sorry El, I mean somehow they implanted a small chip in your head. I removed Eli's too but it seemed to wipe his whole memory. Do you remember anything before this? you remember your name and your brother, so that's great"

El wiped her tears as anger grew within her, she looked down at her arms "I remember everything"  Luna touched El's hand cautiously "I'm so sorry this happened to you El, Eli and I are in trouble. The boss lady will probably find us any minute so we need to get out of here asap!"

"Alison! her name is Alison and she is crazy, she worked with my mother for years. She was like a sister to my mother"

Luna stood up and helped El onto her feet "Are you good to walk?"

"Yes, I'm fine"  El wasn't fine. Her brain was like a tornado, all the memories of past and present were flooding back and her emotions couldn't seem to handle it.

Luna fiddled with one of the computer screens "If we could see what was happening out there it would really help"

"El looked down at her arm and opened her screen up pressing buttons like she was writing a story "I can bring up a map of the building for you Luna" Luna stopped and looked up at El " you can?" She looked at Eli "Why couldn't you do that Eli?"

Eli gave Luna an angry stare that turned into a cheeky smirk.

El let out a little smile as she flicked the map and made it bigger "We are right here and this is the nearest exit"

"Let me guess, she had you working here because you are a tech whizz?"

"Something like that"

"You see the dilemma we have is...

Do we blow this joint up and leave or do we try and help the rest of the innocent droids? Half of me wants to blow this place up and never look back but then innocent humans and droids would die and I just can't do that"

"I like the blowing up idea Luna," Eli thought of the time they blew Luna's home up, they didn't hesitate.

"Is there any way we can somehow help these droids without cutting up each of them?" Luna looked at El hoping she could give her the answers.

El went quiet and thought for a moment.  "There is a way we can help some but it won't be easy. We need to get out of here though before she finds us"

Luna nodded "Let's get to the exit now as quickly and quietly as we can. Eli opened the door gingerly and walked out first scanning the long hallway. The exit wasn't that far away.

El led the way with her map. They could hear footsteps coming ahead so they quickly searched for a hiding place. It was hard in the large long tunnels that were hallways, but they managed to find a door to hide behind.

The exit was a large air vent that they would have to climb up out of it to reach the ground level again. Luna had a nagging feeling this was all too easy like Alison was letting them leave.

Luna had never been so happy to smell the toxic air than now, she heaved her body out of the shaft and onto the dirty ground almost kissing it. The fog was thick and it must have only been late morning as the sun tried to burst through the thick clouds and fog. The three of them ran over to the large concrete graveyard that used to be London and hid amongst the ruins.
