We stayed silent, Reese looking around as me and Sarah shared a look. This was...insane, Sarah hadn't done anything; at least to what I knew. He started the car and we sped off up the road, him looking back at us before speaking. "Alright. Listen." He said as I sighed, running my fingers through my brown hair. "The Terminator's an infiltration unit. Part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyperalloy combat chassis, mircoprocessor-controlled, fully armoured. Very tough...But outside, it's living human tissue. Flesh, skin, hair...blood. Grown for the cyborgs."

"Look, Reese, I know you want to help, but-"
"Pay attention." He snapped, making me frown as he continued. " The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy. But these are new. They look human. Sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot. I had to wait 'til he moved on you before I could zero him."
"That's not possible. They can't build anything like that yet." I said, Reese looking at me for a moment before speaking. "No. Not yet. Not for about forty years." He said and my eyes grew wide as Sarah slowly sat up, looking at him. "So, it's from the future, is that right?"
"One possible future. Four your point of view. I don't know the tech stuff."
"And you're from the future too?"
"Right."

"Right..." She said and we shared a look as he pulled into a car park and parking. Sarah looked at me for a second before she once again tried to get out of the car. Reese grabbed her wrist and she bit him, hard; blood pouring from is wrist. "Cyborgs don't feel pain. I do. Don't...do that...again." He said and she gave a small nod as I watched the pair, Sarah whimpering slightly. "Just let me go." She whispered and he sighed, before pulling us down, me looking at the cop car that was cruising past us, searching the cars. "Listen. Understand. That Terminator is out there. It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with...it doesn't feel pity of remorse or fear... and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead." He said and I sighed, shaking my head as she slumped in her chair. "Well can you stop it?" I asked and Reese pause for a moment before answering me. "Maybe. With these weapons... I don't know."
"Reese...why me? Why does it want me?" Sarah whimpered, and he sighed, shaking his head. "There's so much..."
"Just tell us." I said and he looked at me for a moment before looking back at Sarah. "Tell me. Just start at the beginning."

"There was a war. A few years from now. Nuclear war. The whole thing. All this...everything is gone. Just gone. There were survivors. Here. There. Nobody knew who started it. It was the machines." He said and I frowned as Sarah shook his head. "I don't understand..."
"Defense network computer. New. Powerful. Hooked into everything. Trusted to run it all. They say it got smart...a new order of intelligence. Then it saw all people as a threat, not just the ones on the other side. Decided out fate in a microsecond...extermination." He said, pausing for a moment before speaking once more, his tone more hushed. "Didn't see the war. I was born after, in the ruins. Grew up there. Starving. Hiding from the H-K's."
"The what?" I asked, frowning at him. "Hunter Killers. Patrol machines. Build in automated factories. Most of us were rounded up, put in camps...for orderly disposal." He said, pushing up his sleeve to show what looked like a bar code tattooed onto his arm. "Burned in by laser scan. Some of us were kept alive...to work. Loading bodies. The disposal units ran night and day. We were that close to going out forever...but there was one man...who taught us to fight. To storm the wire of the camps. To smash those metal mother fuckers into junk. He turned it around...he brought us back from the brink." He said, looking Sarah dead in the eye as he spoke. "His name is Connor. John Connor...your son, Sarah. Your unborn son." He said and I gasped, Sarah's eyes growing wide.

I ran my fingers through my hair and sighed, looking around and my eyes grew wider still with fear as I gulped, grabbing onto Kyles shoulder. "What?"

"GO!" I yelled and he turned to see the Terminator pointing his gun at us. He immediately put his foot down and sped off, the back window shattering as the Terminator shot, making me scream slightly. "Get down!" He yelled and we did so as the side windows shattered inwards, me slowly peaking over the side. The Terminator slowly turned his head, his eyes locking with mine. I felt my breath hitch slightly; almost like my breath had been taken away before I immediately ducked back down, placing a hand on my chest. It was probably due to fear....I hoped....

We headed out into the street and I heard the screech of sirens as Reese loaded his gun once more, looking at Sarah. "Steer!" He yelled and she looked at him with wide eyes before grabbing the wheel. She turned the car sharply, fighting for control as both Reese and the Terminator shot at each other. "Reese!" Sarah yelled and I held onto the seat, the Terminator turning his head and looking at me once more as Reese frowned, grabbing my shoulder and pushing me back down onto the seat, the Terminator's head snapping back towards Reese, his eyes dark. Suddenly the car screeched to a halt and we were surrounded by cop cars and I let out a shaky breath before getting out of the car. I couldn't sit in there anymore. I didn't want anything to do with this. "Alexa wait!" Reese yelled, going to grab me and I walked off, seeing the silhouette of the Terminator turn to look at me, my blood running ice cold. His eyes locked with mine and I stood, frozen to the spot and his eyes scanned mine for a brief moment before he turned and walking off, a police officer grabbing my shoulder and pulling me back as Sarah stumbled out the car, her getting grabbed to. "It's alright girls...you're safe now." They said and Sarah let out a shaky breath as we shared a look at Reese was pulled out of the car.

"Here, drink some of this." Vukovich said, passing us both coffee's which I took, staring into space as Sarah spoke. "Lieutenant, are you sure it's them? Maybe I should see the bodies-"
"They've already been identified. There's no doubt." He said and Sarah began to cry once more and I sighed, letting a small tear slide down my cheek. "Of, God...Ginger...kiddo, I'm so sorry." She whispered and I sniffled, taking a sip of coffee. I was never really one to cry. I didn't like looking weak in front of people. Sarah on the other hand was never afraid to cry in front of anyone. "Sarah...Sarah, this is Dr. Silberman. I'd like you to tell him everything Reese said to you. Do you feel up to it?" He asked and I looked up at the man who had just walked in. "I...I guess so." She said and I looked at the man, my eyes dark and serious. "You're a doctor?"
"A criminal psychologist."
"Is Reese crazy?" I asked and he paused for a moment before answering. "That's what we're going to find out."

We watched a small screen, Reese handcuffed and sat on a steel chair. I sighed, taking a sip of coffee as I sat on the table, watching the screen intently. "So You're a soldier. Fighting for whom?"
"With the One Thirty Second under Perry, from '21 to '27-"
"The year 2027?" He asked, frowning as Reese nodded. "That's right." He said and I frowned, looking at the screen. He didn't seen crazy. Quiet the opposite actually. His eyes spoke the truth....unless he was actually so crazy he believed his own lies...

"This is fucking great." Someone said and I frowned, looking at them for a moment before looking back at the screen. "Then I was assigned Recon/Security, last two years, under John Connor."
"And who was the enemy?"
"SKYNET. A computer defense system built for SAC-NORAD by Cyberyne Systems. A modified Series 4800."
"I see. And this...computer, thinks it can win by killing the mother of its enemy, killing him, in effect, before he is even conceived? A sort of retroactive abortion?"
"Yes."
"That Silberman just crack me up. He had this guy in here last week who set his Afghan on fire. Screwed it first, then set it on-"

"Shut the fuck up before I and you one..." I hissed, him immediately growing quiet as I watched the screen.
"...it had no choice. The defensive grid was smashed. We'd taken the mainframes...We'd won. Taking out Connor then would make no difference. Skynet had to wipe out his entire existence. We captured the lab complex. Found the...whatever it was called...the time-displacement equipment. The Terminator had already gone through. They sent two of us to intercept, then zeroed the whole place. Sumner didn't make it."
"Then how are you supposed to get back?"
"Can't. Nobody goes home. Nobody else comes through. It's just him and me." He said, seriousness flickering in his eyes. I felt myself wanting to believe him...but I suppose anyone can become an actor...right? "Why didn't you bring any weapons? Something more advanced. Don't you have ray guns? Show me a piece of future technology." He said and Reese glared at him before speaking. "You go naked. Something about the field generated by a living organism. Nothing dead will go."
"Why?"
"I didn't build the fucking thing." He said through gritted teeth, clearly getting more and more annoyed by the second. "Okay. Okay. But this...cyborg...if it's metal-"
"Surrounded by living tissue."
"Of course." He siad and they paused the tape, making me raise an eyebrow. "This is great stuff. I could make a career out of this guy. You see how clever this part is...how it doesn't require a shred of proof. Most paranoid delusions are intricate...but this is brilliant-"

"Just play the fucking tape." I snapped and an officer raised an eyebrow at me. "Final warning Miss. One more threat and we're going to have to remove you." He said and I glared at him as Sarah took my hand. "Calm down." She whispered and I looked at her for a moment before looking back at the tape. "Why were the other two women killed?"
"Most official records were lost in the war. The computer knew almost nothing about Connor's mother. Her name. Where she lived, just the city. No scanner pictures. The Terminator was just being systematic." He said and the man raised an eyebrow, Reese leaning back in his chair. "You've heard enough. Decide. Are you going to release me?
"I'm afraid that's not up to me."
"Then why am I talking to you? Get out!" He yelled, his voice getting louder and I sighed, running my fingers through my dark black hair.

"I can help you-"
"Who is in authority here?"
"You still don't get it. He'll find her. That's what he does! All he does! You can't stop him. He'll wade through you...reach down her throat, and
pull her fucking heart out-" He was cut off by the tape going black, my green eyes piercing the screen. "...Sorry." He said and I sighed, shaking my head. "So Reese is crazy?" Sarah asked looking at the man as he paused for a moment before speaking. "In technical terminology, he's a loon."
"But-"

"What's that?" I asked, pointing at the padding on the side. "This? It's body armour. Out TAC guys wear it. It'll stop a 12 gauge round. This other individual must've had one under his coat." He said and I raised an eyebrow, looking at him. "But what about him punching through the windshield?" I asked, the man pausing for a moment before shrugging. "Probably on PCP, broke every bone in his hand and won't feel it for hours. There was this guy once that-"
"Why don't you just stretch out here and get some sleep?" He asked, looking at us and I sighed, hopping off the table and following Sarah into the other room, both of us sitting down on the sofa. "It'll take your mom a good hour to get here from Redlands."

"I can't sleep." Sarah said quietly as Vukovich sighed, looking at us. "Go ahead. You're safe. There're thirty cops in this building."
"...Okay." She said ad he smiled before leaving us, me running my fingers through my hair....
