Chapter 06:

It was the time of the morning, people were enjoying tea by sitting at the stalls and cafes. The birds were hidden in the trees. Well, the weather was quite cool but the temperature of Neil’s cabin was increasing with each passing second. Neil was clenching his fist to see the scene in front of him.

Karan was standing beside Avni who was sitting and they were discussing something. Avni turned to the desktop computer and discussed something and then Karan bend to Avni's level by holding the chair of Avni. They were talking like colleagues but Neil was getting possessive and obsessive about Avni with each passing day. Neil was red because of the anger and he turned his face but again he looked at Avni and when Avni smiled then Neil felt like someone ignite the fire in him. Avni turned her face to Karan and he pulled Avni’s cheek and that’s it that was the limit of Neil’s patience. Neil came out in anger and he saw that Karan is sitting at his desk. Neil came to Avni. Avni got up.

Neil: Miss Mehta, did you check that file?

Avni: yes, sir, almost. I had a doubt but Karan cleared that.

Neil’s blood boiled but he can’t say anything because they were discussing the project.

Neil: hmm, good. Get it to me when you are done.

Avni: sure, sir.

Neil nodded and goes. Avni frowned.

Neil came into his cabin and he was lost in thinking something. He ran his hand through his hair.

Neil: what is this all happening to me?

Person: love.

Neil looked up and he saw himself sitting on the chair. Neil frowned.

Neil: you?

Neil 2: your duplicate.

Neil frowned and Neil 2 laughed to tease Neil.

Neil 2: abay, main tere andar ki awaz hun.

Neil: then tell me what is happening to me?

Neil 2: love.

Neil was shocked then he looked away.

Neil: what rubbish?

Neil 2: no. bro. it’s not rubbish. It is the most beautiful feeling of the world. Love, pyaar, muhabbat.

Neil: shut up.

Neil 2 gives him a look.

Neil 2: you agree with me or not but it is love. A pure love. By the way, Neil really likes her. Oops what I am saying, I and you are the same. I am your inner soul so I will like her na.

Neil frowned.

Neil: what? What did you say?

Neil 2: nothing. Bye. Tube light.

Neil 2 vanished and Neil looked here and there but no one was there so, Neil thinks. Neil came to his chair and sat. Neil was still confused and lost.

It was the time of the night, the Khanna family was sitting at the dining table. Shweta kept the jug of water and she sat.

Shweta: poor, girl.

Neil was sitting by holding the spoon. He looked down and stirred the spoon while he was doing odd things to control himself like he was moving his tongue on his teeth.

Prakash: yeah. She has suffered a lot.

Neil sighed and tried to focus on his food.

Shweta: Tillu, from now don’t get angry at her.

Neil was already frustrated and this increased it more. Neil dropped the spoon on the plate in anger.

Neil: I don't like to be angry at her but your beloved Avni did such things that make me angry.

Everyone was amazed. Neil got up in anger and goes to the stairs.

Neil murmured: can’t even let a person eat peacefully. Avni, Avni, Avni as if there is no other person on this planet except that girl.

The Khanna family was looking at him.

Bebe: why can’t you let him eat peacefully?

Shweta: what did I do, Bebe?

Prakash: ok, ok, now, you both don’t start it. Have your dinner.

Shweta: I will have it, later.

Shweta was about to get up.

Bebe: sit. It is not good to get up from the table by leaving the food.

Shweta sat quietly.

On the other side, Neil was sitting on the bed and he was thinking something and was in anger. Neil realized his mistake and he got up. Neil goes and he came to the corridor and saw his family silent. Neil thinks and he goes. Neil came downstairs and he sat on his chair. Bebe smiled to see him. Neil silently started his dinner. Neil looked at Shweta who was sad.

Neil: I am sorry, mom, I should not behave like that.

Shweta said while looking at her plate.

Shweta: it’s ok.

Neil looked at her and he got up from his chair and he goes to Shweta. Neil side-hugged his mother.

Neil: I am sorry, mom.

Shweta smiled and tapped his shoulder.

Shweta: it’s ok.

Neil kissed her cheek.

Neil: thank you.

They smiled.

After that, they have dinner happily. Neil thought about Avni while chewing his food and then he looked at his father and he passed a smile to him.

Some days passed and the day came when they have to go to Jaipur.

The birds were sitting on the terrace of the huge building and the sign of the hospital was stuck along with the name of the hospital. Neela maa was laying on the bed and her eyes were closed. The dark circles were under her eyes and she was looking pale.

The door opened and she frowned. Neela maa opened her eyes and she turned her face. Avni came inside.

Neela maa and Avni smiled to see each other. Avni came to her mother and she caressed her mother’s hair and kissed her forehead. Neela maa smiled. They both were calm as they are holding the storm in their heart.

Avni: how are you?

Nm: fine.

Avni smiled and she sat at the head side of Neela maa and hugged her from the side by holding the shoulders.

Nm: so, you are going today?

Avni: yes.

Neela maa held Avni’s hand and kissed it.

Nm: go. I will not stop you but please take care of yourself.

Avni: I will.

Neela maa smiled.

Avni: I will miss you.

Neela maa smiled.

Nm: I always miss you.

Avni felt a pinch in her heart.

Avni: don’t worry, soon you will be fine and then we will live together like before.

Neela maa smiled. She knew that Avni is giving her and to herself also a false hope. So, she dropped that topic.

Nm: when will you come back?

Avni: in a week maybe.

Nm: oh.

Avni: yes.

Avni kissed her mother’s hair and rests her head on it. Avni closed her eyes.

Outside the Khanna enterprise, two vehicles were standing, one was the car and the other was the van. Everyone was present there except Avneil. Karan, Avni, DD, Sunehri and one two other staff members were going. Avni came there with her bag.

Sunehri: thank God, you came else you will get scolded again.

Avni smiled.

The glass door opened and Neil came out. He was wearing specs and looking at his phone. Neil looked up and he stopped to see Avni. She was looking beautiful and her charming smile was increasing her beauty. Neil removed his specs and blinked his eyes. Avni’s hair flies because of the wind and Neil was lost to see her. The time stopped for him, he was not able to move his eyes from her but his phone disturbed his precious moment. Neil came back to reality. He looked at his phone and realized what he was doing. Neil picked up the call and he looked at Avni but he was not able to concentrate on his work so, Neil turned his face. Neil talked on the call and sighed after cutting it. He thinks and wears his specs then he moved to the stairs and came to his staff. Avni looked at him and turned to him.

Neil: everyone came?

Staff: yes, sir.

Neil: good. Now, get in the car, fastly, we are getting late. And yes, sit comfortably. If there is no space in the car, someone can come in my car. We only have to go to the airport. Ok.

Everyone said: ok, sir.

Avni didn’t say anything. Neil looked at Avni and then Neil looked at the phone and he moved a side. Everyone got in the car.

The van was full with luggage and people. Avni was left behind. She was looking at the car.

Neil goes to his car and he was about to get in the car but he saw Avni is standing there.

DD: Avni, you come with Neil sir.

Avni widens her eyes in shock. Neil was looking at her. Avni looked at Neil who looked away. Avni got worried.

Avni: me? And with Neil sir?

Neil was looking at her.

DD: ok, then you sit here. I am going to Neil sir.

Karan: yeah, Avni come.

Neil can hear them. Neil glared at Karan.

Neil: what happened?

Avni and DD looked at him.

DD: nothing, sir, seat issue.

Neil: I said before that anyone can come to my car then what is the issue? We are getting late.

DD: yes, she, I…

Neil: Miss Mehta, come here. DD, you go with them.

DD looked at Avni then he nodded and got in the car. Avni goes to Neil and the other vehicle goes. Avni was holding the bag. Neil took the bag from her and Avni shivered when Neil’s hand touched her hand and Neil felt that. Neil smiled and he turned. Neil kept the bag in the trunk. Neil came to the backside and opened the door for Avni.

Neil: sit.

Avni was surprised and she looked at Neil but without any drama she came to him and sat. Neil bent.

Neil: move.

Avni looked at him and she moved and then Neil got in the car. The driver came and got in the car then they drove to the airport.

On the way, Avneil were silent. Neil was working on his laptop and Avni’s phone rang. She looked at Neil who looked at her bag and then Avni took out her phone. She saw the doctor’s number. Avni picked up the call. She got worried.

Avni: hello.

Doctor: hello, Avni, Neela Ji's report came.

Avni got worried.

Avni: yeah.

Neil sensed that something is serious so, he tried to hear.

Doctor: we need a donor soon.

Avni was shocked. Her eyes got moist.

Doctor: I can talk to the hospital for the donor but you have to arrange the money.

Avni: how much?

Doctor: approximately, 50 to 60 lacs.

Avni was shocked at an extreme level.

Doctor: hello? Hello? Avni? Hello?

Avni came out of shock. Her eyes were teary.

Avni: yeah.

Neil found Avni’s voice heavy. He looked at her and Avni sighed.

Avni: you don’t worry about the amount. You start your work.

Neil frowned.

Doctor: ok.

Avni cut the call and looked away. She wiped her eyes and sighed. Neil thinks.

Soon, they reached and everyone was waiting for the flight but Avni was lost in her thoughts.

Avni in mind: from where I will arrange that much money? 

Avni was rubbing her finger and thumb. Neil was discussing something with DD while standing and a file was in his hand. Neil looked at Avni and found her lost. Neil thinks and then he looked at DD who asked him something. They resumed the work.

They heard the announcement and got up.

In the plane, Avni was finding her seat and she sat and then Neil came by searching for his seat and he was shocked to see the person sitting on the seat.
