"Waada karta hoon, tumhe mein tumhare ghar pahuchaunga.. bas thoda waqt de do mujhe. Tumhe le jana itna asaan nahi hai isiliye mujhe thodi mohalat chahiye, taaki tumhare liye sab taiyyari kar saku.", Said Sidharth.

The grim on his face was mirrored by her agonized eyes.

"Yeh jo dukh ke saaye tumhare chehre pe hai woh chhatt jayenge aur tum doobara apne badi si duniya mein azaad jalpari banke ghoom paogi. Apne logon ke saath khushi se rahogi. Jo tum chahe kar paogi aur yaha ke neech insaano ke nazaron se bachi rahogi. Par dyaan rakhna.. doobara phir waapis kabhi math aana yaha Shehnaaz.", He said in fear.

"Apne logon ke saamne mujhe bhool toh nahi jaogi na Shehnaaz? Mujhe tumhaari bahut yaad aayegi. Phir kabhi koi aisa nahi hoga mere zindagi mein joh tumhaari tarah mere aane ka besabri se intezaar karega. Tumhaari tarah iss jale huye badsoorat chehre ko koi nahi nihaarega. Aur tumhaari tarah bina kisi alfaazo ki madad liye mere jazbaat nahi samjhega. I will miss you. I love you.", Tear drops escape from his eyes and she finds it excruciatingly painful.

He gets down from the ladder.

"Kullu..", she calls him but emotional him doesn't stop.

Flora swims down anxiously to watch him leave. Cursing herself for unable to help him out of pain because of her inability to understand anything, she goes and occupies her shell bed. She curls up and falls asleep.

Flashback:

Long ago, when the earth was full of evils and atrocities, it got completely drowned in flood by the Lord of annihilation, Lord Shiva. Lord Matsya, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu appeared to save the chosen few to re-instill the goodness and auspiciousness on earth. He came in the form of half human and half fish and towed the huge ship safely thus saving King Manu and his wife to start the human kind again in the new world post destruction.

It was then when Lord Matsya, the half man and half fish form left his sacred part or 'Ansh' into the sea. These species grew in number into their own world of sea and had generations and generations dwelling and surviving without coming in contact with the other world outside the sea who were called the humans.

Unlike human beings who communicate using verbal language, mermaids and mermans communicated through wavelengths and unique gestures underwater. They were smart and friendly in nature.

Being the youngest, bubbliest and the most beautiful mermaid from her flock, Matsye was loved by all. She seeks permission from her father, Matsyaraaj who happens to be a leader of the flock, to explore the new home after they left their earlier home due to increasing troubles from human waste and harmful chemical disposals into their territory.

Her father approves for her to go with her other mermaid friends, while he along with the other mermans would inspect for what probable threats could they anticipate and avoid in future around their new territory.

Matsye's mother combs her hair with fish bone and tucks in her favourite conch shell as a jewel in her hair. Matsye bids bye to her mother.

A handsome merman named Dhruv from the flock approaches Matsye and gifts her a gold necklace. He had newly found it while exploring the new place. She being the humble and most innocent mermaid accepts the gift with a smile. Dhruv was very happy and celebrated the little achievement with utmost excitement, unaware of the fact that he was inturn admired by another mermaid, Srijha, who also happened to be a friend of Matsye.

While Matsye, Srijha and others went to explore and search for tasty sea weeds, Matsye noticed disappointment on Srijha's face. She then learns that Srijha likes Dhruv. Hence she gives the necklace given by Dhruv to her, which Srijha accepts happily.

As the group was done plucking the sea weeds, they decide to return home. On their way, Srijha points out that Matsye's precious little conch shell which she wore in her hair and which was gifted by her father was missing.

Matsye tells her friends to carry on while she goes in search of it. But inturn gets lost as she was chased by the ferocious sharks.

Although she was successful in escaping the blood hounding sharks, she bumps her head against an underwater rock and floats to the shore where a fisherman finds her. His intentions of molesting her initially turns unsuccessful when his wife arrives just in time. The couple then call up the local governing council and earn a fat reward in return. Matsye was named as Flora, who was then shifted to Indian Research Centre for researching.

Flashback ends.

Flora was awaken and startled by the worst nightmare which was nothing but the reality she had gone through. She goes towards the glass and presses both her palms against it and stares at the dark and empty lab.

She reminisced how her mother loved and cared for her, how her father protected her and how her flock would give her all the attention. Her tear dilutes with the pool water as she reminisced Sidharth's sad face.

Everyday was a wait and a challenge to her. Her greatest fear post he logged off was whether he would return the next day or not. She only had him now as she was away from her home and family.

She went and sat on the oyster bed. Her eyes caught sight of the two gold fishes mating in the blue water. She shifted her focus on a blank area and got lost in her own thoughts.

Thoughts of being a free mermaid again and swimming in the blue ocean.

Thoughts of her Kullu being a Merman and them being together spending all their life together in her world.

A beautiful life filled with love and compassion. She was unknowingly smiling and blushing while lost in her thoughts of her kullu kissing her. But her thought was broken when a maintenance lady enters the lab with the noisy vacuum cleaner to clean the place.

It was morning and her wait for her kullu was soon going to end she thought. She strolled to and fro anxiously awaiting to get his glimpse.

"Good morning Flora", said Keshov

"Keshov", she said in anticipation by floating up and bringing her head up.

"Main tumore liye khaana le aaya hoon..", said Keshov showing her the sea weeds. He climbed up the ladder and gave her the food.

"Kullu?", She asked as she saw him going down.

"Aapka kullu aaj thoda late aayega.. kuch kaam hai unko. Tum khaana khao", He said with a smile.

Flora didn't understand anything so she went down and sat on her bed to eat the sea weeds.

It had been afternoon and sadness overtook on her face as her wait seemed unending to see her Kullu. The fishes went on to tickle her hips because they found her depressed. She caught them in her hand and glared at them. They swam away from her but returned again to try their luck to make her happy. They played hide and seek in her long hair and tickled her nape and neck behind her ear.

They finally saw a smile on her face appear but it was not due to their effort but because her getting a glimpse of her Kullu entering the lab.

She swirled in excitement and dived in and out of the water just like a dolphin spilling water out of the aquarium on the lab floor.

"Shehnaaz!! Kya kar rahi ho?", Sidharth asks when few drops of water splashes on him.

"Sir, aapke aane se pele bahot udos tha Flora. Ab aapko dekh ke bilkul dolphin ke joisa naach korta hai. Nobody can lob you like her in this borld.", Says Keshov.

Sidharth smiles with a blush.

"Kaash apni duniya ek hoti", says Sidharth looking at Flora who was gazing at him with all the love.

"Mujhe miss kiya?", He asks her nodding his head. She nods her head with him and he smiles.

"Maine bhi..", he says.

"Sir, lonch?", Keshov asks

"Main karke aaya hoon. Tum jao apna karke aao.", Sidharth said. Keshov leaves the lab and goes to have his lunch. Sidharth climbs up the ladder.

"Shehnaaz, tumhe pata hai, jaldi main tumhe yaha le jaa paunga. Maine apna ghar bech diya. Waise bhi tumhe choddne ke baad yeh log mujhe kutton ki tarah doondhne mein lag jaayenge. Paise milte hi hum dono yaha se bhaag jaayenge aur kuch din underground rahenge. Phir jab mauka milega main tumhe tumhaari duniya mein chodd aunga.", He speaks in a low tone.

She rested her head on her hand and gawked at him speaking not understanding a single word. She was just happy that he didn't sound as depressed as he was yesterday.

He chuckled when he realised how she was hopelessly adoring his burnt face.

"Tum akele hi iss duniya mein jo itne pyaar se mera jala hua chehra bhi nihaarti ho. Sochta hoon agar yeh jala na hota toh kaise hota? Pata hai main khudh apni shakal aaine mein nahi dekhta uss haadse ke baad. Par jab tum mujhe nihaarti ho, toh mujhe lagta hai main iss duniya ka sabse handsome mard hoon..", he chuckles again nodding his head in disbelief.

"Pyaar", she says remembering the word that he had told her yesterday.

"Haan, pyaar. Achcha lagta hai jab koi tumhe bahut pyaar karta hai. Tumhare yaha ke launde tumhe bahut taadte honge na? Kismat dekho saalon ki.. Sochta hoon toh yaha jalta hai.", He says pointing at his heart.

"Pyaar", she says very cutely by touching his heart.

"Haan baba, karta hoon tumse bahut saara pyaar. Tum bhi karti ho na mujhse pyaar?", He says pointing at her heart.

"Kullu.. pyaar", she says placing her hand on her heart. Indeed she loved him lot.

"Haan theek hai ab Devdas ki Paro ki tarah baar baar math bolo. Tumhe toh pata nahi par mera juloos nikal jaayega.", He laughs making her giggle.

"Hass toh aise rahi ho jaise sab samajh mein aa gaya.. Gadhi kahi ki..", he playfully pushes her forehead by his finger. She pushes him in return and he startles on the ladder.

"Oye gadhi, ab mein gir jaata toh? Do chaar haddiya toot jaati aur hospital mein bharti hona padhta.. phir akele yaha baite kullu kullu ki bhajan gaati..", he scolds her sweetly pressing her nose.

She scrunched her nose by closing her eyes. She looked so adorable that he leaned closer and kissed her nose making her blush.

"Tum toh yaha ki ladkiyon se jyada sharmaati ho. Chalo main neeche chalta hoon. Keshov ke saamne embarrass nahi hona. Ab tum apna taadneka karyakram neeche jaake karo. Tab tak mein bhi kuch kaam kar leta hoon..", he says.

"Arey haan, main na tumhaare liye kuch laya hoon.. par tumhe dunga nahi.. pata hai kyu? Tumhare saath rehke main bhi gadha ban gaya hoon, tumhaare liye payal le aaya.", He facepalms.

She facepalms as well and he laughs loudly. She laughs along.
