“Chotte..” Anjali's aghast face swam in front of his eyes.

Gunshots and shouts of the family reverberated in his ears as Arnav drove towards his sanctuary of peace. His Mumma's garden, He snapped out of his trance hearing loud honking sounds, A massive truck was coming from in front of his car, He reflexively changed the direction of the car.

The car made loud screech sounds as he attempted to steady the vehicle but before he could steady himself he saw the floating reflection of a terrified girl trying to avoid getting collided with his vehicle and running out of the way towards the road. His heart skipped a beat.

Arnav breathed relieved, Finally steadying his vehicle. He stopped his car to regain his composure.

He closed his eyes for a good few seconds before he heard a knock on his window, He opened his eyes to find a man in mid sixties looking worriedly at him. He lowered his window glass

“Beta aap theek toh hain? (Son, Are you alright?)” Asked the man concerned.

“Yes. I'm perfectly fine Sir.” Arnav tried to assure the elderly man despite his frantically thudding heart.

“Oh. Thank god!” The man sighed in relief. That's when Arnav noticed the sudden commotion.

“What's wrong?” He asked

“A girl got hit by the truck.” The man informed Arnav.

“WHAT!?!” Arnav almost shouted before getting out of his car and running towards the road.

A very happy Diwaali to all of you. May the festival of lights enlighten your lives and may there be no darkness in your houses and lives. May this diwali bring all the joys and happiness in your lives and there be no sorrows to dwell upon.

This Diwali I wish all the luck prosperity and happiness to showered upon you and your families. May the evils of your life be warded off by the lights of the Diyas.
