Days were passing by smoothly
Atleast that's what Shehnaaz thought

But here Siddharth had become more difficult.
He had started going to the bar every night.
He used to drink till he passed out and then from the morning he used to get so involved in work that he did not have time to even meet Kushal.

After Shehnaaz returned Asim was also eaten by guilt.. he shifted to US
He could not see his brother going through so much because his stupid mistake.

After Shehnaaz returned he was hoping that his brother will be normal from now but after hearing what happened he left with Jasmine.

Siddharth did not meet anyone after his meet with Shehnaaz.
He had closed himself either in his work or alcohol.

Shukla Enterprises had reached to such heights that no one can even come near them now.
But the man behind this success was not happy..
He was going deeper and deeper in his guilt and shame.
The guilt of breaking the heart of the love of his life and the shame of his stupid and impulsive decision.

Kushal was worried for Siddharth.
He knows what he is going through but what made him worried was how to get him back from that trauma.

It was one such night when Kushal was with Shefali
They were in his car and were on a long drive

(Guys yeh mat bhulna Shefali does not know the relation between Siddharth and Kushal with Shehnaaz)

Shefali: Kushal kya baat hai? You have been stressed about something from past few weeks.

Kushal: I am worried about Siddharth yaar.. woh kisise baat nai kar raha.. I dont know mai kya karu

Shefali: par yaar itna toh kya hi kar dia hai usne uss ladki ke sath that woh isse 1 chance bhi nahi dey rahi?
Itna toh mana raha hai bechara

Kushal chuckled

Kushal (in his mind): *we will talk about this when you come to know that the girl is Shehnaaz*
I dont blame her Shefu..
Siddharth ke sath jo bhi ho raha hai he deserves it..
Agar aage aur kuch bhi hua fir bhi it will not be enough to make up for the pain SHE went through because of him

Shefali scoffed

Shefali: yaar kaisa dost hai tu? apne dost ki jagah woh ladki ka side lay raha hai

Kushal: kash yeh pehle kar dia hota.. taking her side and not his
Toh shayad aaj chize alag hoti.

Shefali could not understand what was going on
She just knew that Kushal's best friend's name is Siddharth and the girl whom he loved hates him for some mistake which he made years ago.
But she thought to not stretch the topic more.

Shefali: its late.. please drop me home.

They were on their way home where they saw commotion on the road.
It seemed like a fight was going on

Kushal: you wait here mai dekh ke ata hu

Shefali: nai wait mai bhi aaungi

Kushal: it is not safe baby.. please yahi ruk.

Shefali reluctantly agreed

Kushal went to the place and was shocked to see Siddharth beating the shit out of a person
He ran towards him and pulled him away from the man

Kushal: Siddharth.. kya kar raha hai.. chod usko.

Siddharth was fully drunk.. he was slurring

Siddharth: usne mujhe peene se kaise roka.. tu chod mereko

He tried freeing himself but he did not have that strength due to alchohol and taking that advantage Kushal dragged him towards his car.
It slipped out of his mind that Shefali was with him.

Siddharth: Kushal chod mujhe.. wapas jaane dey.. uski himmat kaise hui mujhe mana karne..
Sala sare hi mujhe mana karte jaa rahe hai.. pehle woh mana karke chali gai ab yeh
Mai chodunga nai usko

He kept wiggling but Kushal did not leave him.

With a lot of efforts he managed to drag Siddharth till his car

Seeing Siddharth with Kushal in this condition Shefali came out of the car

Shefali: Kushall.. yeh Siddharth.. aise?
Tum jaante ho isse?

Siddharth (slurring): obviously bhabhiji.. bhai hai yeh mera.. bachpan ka dost

Shefali's eyes widened with the information
The one who had destroyed the life of her best friend was standing in front of her with the support of her boyfriend and is calling him his brother !

Shefali: Kushal is he saying the truth?

Her voice cracked.. she felt betrayed.. tears welled up in her eyes.

Kushal's face paled.. he did not know what to say.
From the day he came to know that Shefali and Shehnaaz are best friends he made sure that Siddharth never comes in front of Shefali.. atleast until things are sorted between Shehnaaz and Siddharth

He 1st settled Siddharth in the back seat of his car

Then he went towards Shefali and cupped her face

Kushal: baby please listen to me first

Shefali removed his hands and took 2 steps back

Shefali: no.. just tell me do you know him dammit?

Kushal: yes.. he saying the truth

Shefali: kya tumhe pata hai usne meri Shehnaaz ke sath kya kia hai? Do you know what has he done to her?
(She yelled)

Kushal bowed his head down

Kushal: yes
(The tone was barely about a whisper)

Shefali took long strides towards him and held his collar

Shefali: how could you let it happen then Kushal?
Tumhara dost 1 ladki ki life barbaad kar raha tha and tum dekhte rahe?
Dil nahi hai kya tumhare pass?
Kaise hone diya tumne woh ladki ke sath aise?

Kushal: maine koshish ki thi jaan.. I tried but Siddharth andha ho chuka tha apne revenge mai.. he did not listen to me.

Shefali: toh tum Shehnaaz ko toh bata sakte the na.. woh bhi nahi hua tumse?

Kushal did not answer.. he knew he made a mistake supporting Siddharth
But today that mistake is been thrown at his face and he is helpless.

Shefali: you know what Kushal.. I hate you.. I cannot even look at you right now
You and your friend you guys disgust me

She left his collar and pointed a finger at him.
Tears were flowing from both their eyes.

Kushal tried to hold her hands but she slapped them away

Kushal: please baby.. please dont do this.. I love you jaan

His tone was as helpless as his situation

Shefali: aaj ke baad apni shakal bhi mat dikhana mujhe tum.

Saying she turned back and started leaving.

Kushal ran behind her and hugged her from back

Kushal: please please please dont leave me.. mai nahi jee paunga tumhare bina..

Shefal pushed him back and freed herself

Shefali: dont you dare touch me.. door raho mujhse and meri Shehnaaz se..
Bata dena tumhare dost ko.. agar dikha na woh ya tum mujhe uske aas pass.. jeena mushkil kar dungi tumhara.

(I personally feel that ladke kitna bhai bhai karle ek dusre ko.. ladkiyo ki friendship is way better then boys)

She turned and stopped an auto and left to from there.

Kushal was frozen on his spot where she left him.
He couldn't understand what just happened to him.
Here he was praying that Siddharth gets his love back and here he lost the love of his life.
He saw her leaving and he couldn't do anything.
He remembers telling Siddharth that he wishes that he is punished the same way how Siddharth would be punished
And now he was standing.. heartbroken and miserable just as Siddharth.

Shehnaaz was fast asleep when she heard someone continuously ringing the door bell.

She wore her slippers and ran downstairs and opened the door.

She saw Shefali standing there in a miserable state.
She was crying.

As soon as Shehnaaz opened the door Shefali hugged her tightly

Shefali: I am sorry.. I am so sorry.

She kept chanting this until darkness consumed her and she passed out in Shehnaaz's arms.

Next day at Kushal's House

Siddharth woke up with a massive head ache and body pain.

He groaned in pain and looked around and found himself in Kushal's room

All the events of the previous nights came to him and he panicked..
He remembers seeing Shefali

He got out of the bed and ran towards the living room.

The sight in front him shook him

Kushal was sitting on the couch.. with blood shot eyes.
He looked so broken that Siddharth just went and hugged him

They both sat there for sometime

Siddharth: kya hua bhai?

Kushal: she left me !
