Amidst our sacred passion, peacock will be singing (one day)
My search from nothing to all, will reveal my Beloved (one day)
You took away my heart, and never asked about my state!
Come Soon My Lover,
My Healer,
Or I shall die waiting.
Omkara followed the jeep, on the bike, his eyes bloodshot. How dare they! Like the brave Mrizaya he set on the mission of bringing back his Sahiba, putting on stake his life if required. The wind was biting but he cared not, his life was stuck with her. He brought the bike to a screeching halt before the jeep. Getting off he stared at the three men with anger that could burn them raw.
While the young Thakur, held on to Gauri's hand the other two got off to fight the man. While he was engaged hitting the men, the man in the car spoke disgustingly to Gauri, which did not go unheard by his sharp ears.
Promptly a hard blow landed on one of the men causing him to crawl on the floor. His breathing was heavy, his nose flared, he was a dangerous mess. He turned his fiery gaze to the man in jeep as the two men escaped for dear life. The man got off angry, "Kaun hai be tu sardaar, chup chaap apna raasta naap warna acha nahi hoga"Omkara dint bulge a bit, his eyes remained fixed, his jaw clenched and his breathing deep like that of a predator. The man raised his hand to give him a punch when Omkara held his fist in his palm."Himmat Kaise hui Teri!" He screamed and hit the man hard, that he almost fell over the tire of the vehicle.
"Abbey tu hai kaun, iss ladki ki wajah se Maine apne bhaaiyon ko khoya hai, main isse kahin kaa nahi chodunga.!" The man spat, trying to scuttle back to the woman but was held by the neck.
"Khabardaar Jo aakhn uthaa kar bhi dheka,Mujhse bura koi nahi hoga!" He gave the man another blow, the man was bleeding. He moved his gaze from the fallen man to his wife, who sat hugging herself, tears rolling down her cheeks. He was about to call out to her when he received a blow. He winced in pain. Gauri looked on terrified, she scrambled out of the jeep in haste. Looking around for help, she found none.
Omkara got back on his feet, his look deadly than before. Twisting his neck he held the man by the collar and punched him hard. The man defended and pushed him, Gauri held him in time.He glanced up at her eyes, and Gauri stared back dumbfounded. He turned to fight the man, while Gauri stood wide eyed gaping at him.
The man said something about taking Gauri, and a harsh slap rang across his face. He insulted Gauri asking why was he fighting for that woman.
"Gauri ko aakhn uthaa ke bhi koi dehke toh mujhe bardaash nahi!"
The man was wounded badly and lay by the jeep almost unconscious.Omkara turned to Gauri. "Omkara Ji!" She whispered crying.
"Gauri" he cupped her face. She looked at the wounds on his face and back at his eyes. She saw what she had searched for all along! The care, the pain, the love For HER!!
Tears rolled down his eyes. It was terrible for him to see her like that devastated. Tears continued, and their rugged breathing was all that was heard as they eased their pain by just the sight of each other.
"Omkara Ji " she screamed looking diagonally behind him as the man came forward with a rod in hand.At once Omkara swirled, holding the rod in time. His eyes flashed with annoyance and anger, much like lightning on a pitch black night.
He flashed the rod in hand landing it on his head. The man holding his head fell to the ground this time seriously unconscious.
The two stared at the man, hitched breaths blaring in the silent light. She quickly moved to his side, holding his arm she asked him if he was okay. He simply nodded. "Chalo".
He held her hand and walked. She simply stared at him. While he sat back on his bike, she stood like a statue. Her heart screaming for answers like always.
" Kyun?" She looked at him as though defeated, asking the question time and again.
He looked at her knowing there was no escape. He sighed, getting off the bike standing before her. "I m Sorry" . She simply stared at him, that's all he had? Spoke her mind. While her heart just wanted to hug him and leave the unspoken. But, she had to for once stand up for "them".
He removed the turban, and kept it aside on the seat. " Poori Life Sorry bolunga tabhi kam rahega." He looked at her in the eye. "I'm sorry Gauri, bahut, bahut galtiyaan hui hai mujhse." He folded his hands before her. "Tumhaare Pyaar Ke Aage Main Haar Gaya". He broke down into tears, crying miserably. He knelt down crying. Streams of warm droplets rolled down her cheeks, her eyes burning, it pained to see him that way. She knew the pain because she had been there, for a terribly wrong period. She knelt down before him. She held his face making him look up. He refused to look at her, he couldn't meet her eyes. He just couldn't. Regret overflowing as tears he sat there. " Omkara Ji" she whispered a plead.
He shifted his gaze to her slowly, "I m sorry". He cried uncontrollably. At once she pulled his head closer. Resting his forehead on her shoulder he cried. The tears dint seem to was his guilt, such terrible stains his actions had left. She cried along gently rubbing his back, soothing him out of his pain. He dint know for how long he had been there. He quickly broke apart and removed the sweet from his pocket." You haven't eaten anything, ye khaao" he said extending it to her. She smiled nodding a no, looking up at the sky.
He frowned, his features dull, "I dont deserve it. Don't love me so much." He prayed before her.
She gulped hard, tears not reafy to stop.
"Aapse Ishq Karna Humne Nahi Chunaa that,Lekin Iss Ishq Ko Humne Chunaa Hai!"She said her eyes reflecting her love.He gulped nervously.
"Kaise ?" He asked her his voice deep and pained."Kaise kar sakti ho mujh se itna pyaar, San me baawajood?" He held her hands delicately, seeing his name on her hand.
" Bas karte hain!" She replied honestly.
He closed his eyes, wondering what good had he done to receive the best.
"Chaliyee, " she quickly gotvup extending her hand to him. He took her hand and got up, his eyes not leaving hers. She turned, when he gently stopped by holding her hand. She turned and he smiled.
He once again got on his knees and holding both her hands looked at her. She looked at him rather nervously."I love You..." He said simply. No fancy words, no explanations, nothing but those words which said what had remained unsaid for too long. She closed her eyes, and opened them gently looking at him. She jerked his hand slightly pulling him up, he obeyed. When suddenly he looked away and she followed his gaze. The moon shone brightly in the sky. She stared at the sky amazed. Her feelings flowing in ecstasy. So much happiness, that she felt it was all a dream.
She at once put the duppata on her head. Holding the corner of her net dupatta she dragged it up and saw the moon threw it, and turned towards Omkara who bent slightly to make level with her. The two smiling through it. Putting the duppata down she turned to the moon folding her hands in prayer, wishing for his happiness and long life. Her gestures, her actions moved Omkara. Once again the regret flowed to surface, but he fisted his hand. He won't let regret make him weak, he would hold on to her love which made him strong and give her happiness and love for the rest of their life.
Her eye lashes curved up a she looked at him and bent to touch his feet, he stopped her in time and took her in a warm embrace instead."I m Sorry Gauri,Ek vaada hai tumse,Chaaye much bhi ho jaaye,I will always love you, Humesha. And. Forever" he said firmly.
Opening the packet he extended the sweet towards her, "Paani toh nahi hai iss se..." He looked around. She smiled and ate from it."Sirf apka saath chaiye, baaki San manjoor hai" her words were like the pure moonlight illuminating his dark heart. She was his moon, he was the darkness. They were now complete this night.
Hand in hand they walked back to the bike. His stomach growled in hunger, having had nothing since the morning but his heart was filled and content. He was at peace. Getting on the tips of her toes, he placed the turban on his head, while he simpered surprised. "Jach Ti Hai aape!" She smiled shyly.
The breeze rejoiced while the moon looked on at this Ranjhaa who won his Heer bac. She gently wrapped her small arms around him resting her head on his back. She was finally home. Riding through the night, he smiled, never had he felt so much at peace. That missing part of him which he had been finding all throughout his life was HER. She completed him. Both, now together set out, the destination might remain hidden but the journey was what mattered.
Oh, What not did their love make them do!The crazy heart dances to the tune of love.

Author's Note-
The song here is Tere Ishq Nachaaya a sufi rendition. The song here describes the love between man and the Almighty. I have taken it in literal sense, here, though.
The song captures the ecstasy of the lover and complains of separation, of the ruptured heart and asks the Beloved, the Healer to come and rescue the lover. Dance is that action that, one form of art that is a close analogue of love. And this song beautiful describes it. It has been sung by various Sufi Singers, each putting their own kind of charm to the Beautiful Lyrical originally written by Bulleh Shah.
Hope you all could relate to the song and the story as much as I could.Hoping you all liked this one.Would love to read from all you dear readers!
