(Tanjobi omedetou, Kumo Tenka!)

Please forgive me dude, for being a day late as your birthday was yesterday (7 July 2015) and today is (8 July 2015)!!!!!!

It was the 6th of July of the 13 year in the Meiji Era, and while Nihon(Japan) was facing great obstacles and troubles in the long way of 'growing up' into a fine modern country, other things troubled the second son of the Kumo household, Soramaru, in the Kumo Shrine of the Otsu town of Shiga prefecture.

That morning he woke up with a feeling of guiltyness and responsibility, for that he knew that the day which was coming was very important. He had to suprise his aniki and remaind him how much his brothers needed and loved him. He hadn't had the chance to do anything for the other years but now it was time he gave his brother a small return for the big favor of his caring, love and motivation, but made with great effort and love.

A lot has happened since Soramaru with the help of Chutaro and Tenka and of course, the Yamainu, defeated the Orochi. A lot has happened since when Shirasu left for good and when his place as a freeloader was gladly filled by Nishiki. A lot has happened since Tenka's 'elemination'. Yet Tenka never once complained, made a sad face or cry in front of his little brothers, he always would laugh and make the others laugh with him at him. It was Sora's responsibility to return the favor.

But he wasn't the only one in debt with Tenka...

While Soramaru invited all of the Yamainu to his suprise party, well all except for Kiiko-san, that is, Chutaro was wandering around together with Gerokichi at the Otsu's market, examining it in great detail. Sadly, he couldn't think of anything to make aniki happy...

He knew Aniki didn't like western clothes or food, so buying him a tie was outta question. He also knew that aniki wasn't one to ask for a present, so asking him what he wanted was useless.

But there was something little Chuta didn't know, that was that Aniki has anything he needs for as long as he has his family...

While the brothers were making preperations for tomorrow, Nishiki was wandering around the shrine cleaning the place up a bit.

" It feels good to be in a family! huh? " she said while the summer unusual breeze came in the room, giving a fresh feeling.

I should help Soramaru-kun with the kitchen tomorrow and then arrange the garden beautifuly and help Sora with everything else. I can't wait.- Nishiki thought with a shy smile on her face.

(Meanwhile, Soramaru was at the Sasaki house, to look for Kiiko.)

"Kiiko-san, tomorrow is aniki's birthday and I want to make him a suprise party to show him how important he is for us, so I was wondering if you would like to come to, as you are one of aniki's closest friends and all the Yamainu members already said they would come."said Sora with an extreme speed and without taking any rest, furthermore he ran like crazy while rushing here, that making him breathless.

"Is that so?!" Kiiko said spacing out a little bit, but only a little bit, "Well then, I am looking forward to it."

"Thank you, Kiiko-san!!!Arigato!!!!!" Sora said with the face of a kid who just got what he wanted for Christmas, his eyes shining and his skin giving off a "glow" at the thought of getting Kiiko there for his brother.

He quickly started running and shouted "Jane, Kiiko-san!!!(bye, Kiiko-san)"

Watching him running off with a warm motherly smile, Kiiko thought about tomorrow. She didn't really need Sora's remainder to know that tomorrow was Tenka's birthday. What should she wear and what should she get for him, were the two questions echoing in her mind. Well, time to put my hobby out of the cage and go do some shopping she thought, a happy but kinda sly and " I-have-been-waiting-for-this-opportunity-to-come " smile, crossed her beautiful face.

After successfully accomplimishing his mission of inviting his guests Sora was running home when some villagers asked him:

Villager 1: Sora-kun, why in such a hurry? Something wrong?

Sora: No, I am just busy 'cuz it's aniki's birthday today,(so busy I didn't even train but still Niisan (big brother=aniki=Tenka) thought nothing of it, Sora said to himself).

Villager 2: Is that so? Our fine big boy growing a year older, then we should participate, too.

Sora: Domo(Thanks) but I have already sorted it out, so don't worry.

Villager 2: My husband is a fireworks artisan, I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving some to the sun of the Shiga prefecture. How's that?

Sora: That would be great, a very good idea indeed but I don't want to cause you trouble.

Sora says that stroking his neck feeling a bit uneasy.

Villager 3: What trouble are you talking about? You the Kumo brothers have always been there for everyone in this town, we all owe you a lot. Here, take these fresh vegetables so you can cook a good meal for that special day.

Sora: This is very kind of you, indeed but I don't know if I can accept it.

Villager 3: Think about it as a gift. Now go, we see you are in a hurry and we won't keep you any longer.

Sora: Arigato gozaimas(Thank you, very much)!!!!!

Sayonara(goodbye)!!!!!

Villager 4: What an energitic young boy!

Villager 1: The Kumo brothers are really friendly, kind and energitic young boys.

The woman said that with a very warm proud motherly expression.

Villager 4: Well, I didn't knew that because I am new here but I know now...

While everybody was thinking and speaking of him, what was Tenka doing you may wonder?! Well, he...*cough* *cough*

....was completing his hobby desires and was taking a nap (⌒▽⌒) haha, I am joking, he wasn't really doing that, in fact he was outside and was visiting, the only place where he could find peace and show some of his "left in the dark worries";because there are times when those who smile the most just want to rub off their problems like that; his parents' grave.

"Otou-san, okaa-san, life has been going on peacefully here but Sora and Chuta are trying to hide something from me, Sora even refused trainning today. I don't know what to do with them. It has already been a week......" Tenka said thoughtfully and was lost in thought, wondering why were his brothers avoiding him like this. What are they hiding?

Poor Chuta was still wandering around the market til something accidentaly, caught his eye...

Sora just came home from his little trip and was breathless. But he was happy with the outcome of his trip. Meanwhile, Tenka came home and shouted with his loud voice in Sora's ear "I'm home!!!!!!!!"

"Why do you have to be so loud, aho(stupid) aniki?" said Sora with an angry face and voice, all the happiness and the feeling of being proud vanished.

"Huh, whatever! You hate your brother!!!! Aaaaaahhhhaaaaa!!!!!" fake tears running from Tenka's face while he dramatically pretended to be hurt so much, unfourtantely Sora wasn't affected at all, he didn't laugh, but to be more correct he was affected, he became even more annoyed.

"Shut up aho!!!!!!" shouted Sora to his older brother while Tenka was rrolling on the floor making all types of teary funny faces with fake funny hurt expressions.

To Chutaro's relief, his older brothers were busy quarrelling like always, so he carefully went to his room without being noticed, hided the present for his aniki in a safe place and went to where his brothers were quarrelling, so he could join them.

Nishiki was heartedly smiling at them from the kitchen.

They made a perfect family portrait together as the sun of the afternoon entered the room giving it an orange color.

Abe no Sousei was staring at the photo of the Yamainu, when he was young, it had him, Tenka and Kiiko in the focus and first plan, Tenka as always smiling, while him frowning like always and Kiiko that wore a mixture of their so different expressions.

"So, it's your birthday tomorrow, huh?"he asked the young boy in the half-lighted, half-darkened photo because of the fact that the only light in the room was coming from his window.

He then stared away in the sight that the window behind him offered.

"Years surely pass fast." he said with a low voice with shades of nostalgia and sadness. "Yesterday, he was a young boy talking to me about his dreams which became my own, and today he is 26 years old and an older brother, who cares about his siblings most of all things and someone who encourages the whole town to move on. You really changed, Tenka. Or was it me who just changed his point of view? Or maybe none of us really changed, that is a bitter guess huh?"

Every Yamainu member was wandering around to find a present for the "sun" and Kiiko, the one in which this day had more impact was looking for a birthday present for Tenka with hawk eyes, hoping to find something good, cool, interesting, but it was nothing compared to what he gave to her. And so, began Kiiko's journey ;P with a difficult task, the task of finding a present for her beloved, a really difficult task, indeed.

A sasai(trival task) for a Sasaki and not for them only...

Hmm, Tenka what remainded her of him, his smell, fragrance, his black hair with hints of red at the endings remainded her of flames and his calm, quiet, curious and smiley eyes remainded her of the sky. "Of course that is why he is called Tenka." she thought to herself. (天-ten-sky, heaven; 火-ka-fire) She smiled to herself. Fire in the sky,huh?! That basically means the sun. Things that remainded her of him, his red talismans were one of them. Hmm, maybe she should look for a choker all after all, a choker and a belt that is. As she thought of this she saw an accessories shop and went in. She knew what she wanted and she hoped she would get it. A black leather belt with his clan's sign in pure silver and a matching black leather choker, too. Of course that wouldn't be avaiable and ready but she chose a strong choker and a good quality leather belt, that costed a lot but all after all she was a Sasaki and she had the money. After that she asked the artisan of the shop to modify it the way she wanted and went to the fragrance shop to find a good new perfume for herself and a little bottle of what Tenka wears always. She tried different fragrances but the only one she liked was a delicate yasemin and arabian roses fragrance. She went out of the shop satisfaied and happy with her choises. Then she went to look for a dress or a kimono, well Tenka didn't like western clothing but that night at the ball he complemented her for her dress. There was a beautiful princess style dress at the corner of the shop. It had a royal blue color and the torso was decorated with small aquamarine,pearl white and royal blue stones arranged in neat lines that didn't make it look too exagerated. It had no sleeves and had a beautiful decoltè.She fell in love with it imidiately and decided to take the risk for wearing a western dress. She bought it and went looking for matching hairprins.

Nishiki was sitting in her room and was thinking of what to do for anii-san(big brother) Tenka. He had treated her well and even though he wasn't there when Sora welcomed her in their house he didn't disapprove and treated her like an imouto(little sister). She had little money and decided to buy a handkerchief and afterwards she sew a messy and diffused kumo kanji on it with all the little skills she mustered. She then put it into a little box and badly wrapped it up quickly.

That evening everyone was in deep thoughts.

Sora wondered if his plan would go right.

Chuta if his aniki would like his present.

Nishiki if Sora would be happy with the outcome of his plan and if Tenka anii-san would like their suprise.

Kiiko was troubled about how would tomorrow go and if Tenka would like her appearence and gift, and even though it may be too much to ask maybe, just maybe that oblivious Tenka would understand her feelings.

Ashiya was spending time with his shikigamis(familiars) and creating one for Tenka, I mean how would any male with(out) a brain in his head{I think that during evolution males lost their brain because they never use it ;P} not like that present, he thought.

Takeda was looking forward to tomorrow's practice with Soramaru and was watching at the bag in front of him that hid a uniform of the Yamainu and thought of the reaction the 14th head of the Kumo would make after seeing it, he wondered of how "The Rule" would think of his present.

Inukai, Shii and Takamine were together and while Inukai and Takamine decided on what kind of sake(japanese alchohol drink)they would give to Tenka Shii decided to give his friend a mahjong game as he was from China.

Sousei was looking at the photo before packing it with a sigh.

Hirari and Botan were spending the evening together and there was a pack in the corner of the room.

And Tenka... well he was sleeping sound with a smile plastered on his handsome face, like the idiot he was would.

Morning came and the head of the Kumo shrine was energitic as ever. This could be proved by.... well, the noise that could be heard from the Kumo shrine:

"You are too weak Soramaru!!!!!!!You can never become the head of the clan like this!!! I am ashamed of you....muhahhhhhh" Tenka said or more correctly shouted the last sentence pretending he was crying and his comical face made it way too hard to believe that he was serious.

"Shout up, stupid aniki! I am gonna defeat you!!"

"Of course you are, I don't doubt it even the slightest bit." said Tenka making a silly face.

"Go on, Tennii!!!!! Defeat Soranii!!! You are the best, Tennii!!!!" Chuta was cheering for his big brother cheerfully like usual.

Every single move Sora made was quickly blocked by Tenka's fan.

"Soranii, can I ask you something?" Chuta said after a long time keeping silent, which was unusual.

"Is it true that Takeda-san is jeaolus because you like Nishi----"

Chuta's mouth was quickly stuffed with a spoiled apple that had fell from the tree in their yard before Nishiki, who was just passing there heard more than needed.

But that instant Sora put the apple in Chutaro's mouth Tenka gave him a good hit on the back of his head with his(Tenka's) fan.

"Soramaru Kumo, don't you dare treat your little brother like that" Tenka said and Chuta's eyes were filled with tears.

"TENNII!!!!!!!!!!"

He jumped on his brother's neck and they both fell to the ground, laughing.

"Well, I'm off!!!" Tenka said full of joy while passing the gate of the shrine, that after he had goten up from the floor without Chutaro hanging onto his neck.

"These little brothers of mine!" Tenka said, "How can they forget their brother's birthday?" He was sitting in front of his parents' graves with a very pissed off "Tenka-style" face.

"And to think that I never once forgot theirs, hmph."

"So that's the plan, Nishiki, you keep Chutaro busy and I make the place ready and start cooking."

"But----"

"Aaaaaanddd, please don't feel so indebted, when I need your help I am gonna call you."

"If you say so Sora-san"

Nishiki said and shyly walked away.

(After 4 hours of cooking and 2 hours of preperations for the party and another 2 hours of welcoming the guests.)

"I'm ho----"

Tenka couldn't finish his words because he was interrupted by:

"Tanjobi omedetou, Tenka!!!!"(Happy birthday, Tenka!!!!)

That instant a box hit his head and Chuta jumped to grab his neck and the leather jacket fled from the box Sora flew, and it landed on Tenka's head so that only his right side of his head was showing.

For the first time in years Tenka felt like shedding a tear or two in front of everyone, that because everyone was there, Kiiko, Soramaru, Chutaro, Sousei, Nishiki, Inukai, Shii, Takamine, Takeda, Botan, Hirari, everyone. He felt touched.

Nishiki aproached him first by quickly putting the badly wrapped pack at his feet and going to Soramaru's side.

Then Inukai hugged him and together with Takamine opened up the sake bottles and poured them into the cups.

"Catch!"was what Takeda said to him and to Tenka's suprise the inside of the pack was a Yamainu uniform, that really brought back memories of old times. Shii came near him and put the mahjong game in his hands.

Botan and Hirari put their pack before its suprised owner and took their excuse as they left because they had some important bussiness.

Then, Sousei gave him the picture but before he could say anything about old times Ashiya came there and patted Tenka on the shoulder.

"Here you go" he said as he brought a woman to life by a written piece paper. The power of omnyoji jutsu.

The woman(the shikigami)whom we were talking about was only wearing a swimsuit and Tenka's reaction well....

His left eye was twitching and his horrified and troubled face was desperatly looking for someone in the room.

For Kiiko. And when his eyes met her he found an absolutely beautiful Kiiko but with a death glare, which for Tenka's fortune was directed at Ashiya and when she saw Tenka she forced a smile and then laughed a bit. For Ashiya's fortune too that moment a noise came from outside, well you know the difference between an angry woman and a kamikaze is that you can compromise with the second one.

"Aniki, the fireworks, let's go outside!", cute little Chuta said.

So they all went outside in the yard and while they watched the fireworks, Chutaro gave Tenka the piercing in the form of a dragon, it had a golden shining and Tenka put it on imidiately.

Then he went to sit near Kiiko.

"Sooooo, don't you have anything to tell or give to me?!" Tenka said with a puppy face.

"What makes you think so?" was Kiiko's answer with an arrogant face, her eyes looking up the sky but Tenka's disappointed face made her take off her guard a little.

"Here" she said when she handed him the pack.

"Wow thanks!!These must have cost a fortune!!!"

"Well, it was nothing..." her face never meeting his.

"How can I return the favor?" Tenka said with a happy puppy face.

"Huh, you have some rice left there."

"Huh, where?" Tenka asked suprised.

"Here", she said kissing him on the lips... and the last firework of all shone in the sky behind them.
