He had given him a single blue flower in a perfectly decorated pot. Which was also hand made. Only the best for his angel.
Calum was so happy. He loved flowers and especially the one Ashton had given him. He had placed the flower in the sun just like Ashton had told him to do. He watched the flower for a few minutes during that day, just exposing the beauty of it. Tho it was so simple.
Everything went wrong the next morning for Calum...
He stormed into Ashton's bedroom, the door slamming against the wall and tears that fell down Calum's cheeks.
"Ashton! Ashton!" Calum said panicking and shook Ashton awake.
"Mmh..hey Calum wha-" Ashton then fully sat up and opened his eyes as he saw Calum crying.
"I killed it! I did that! I-I didn't mean to and I did everything you said me to do and and I-" Calum stopped himself and showed the flower.
The flower was al dried up and broken. The last single petal fell down making Calum cry even more.
"Hey calm down you didn't do anyt-"
"See! I told you I'm not made for this world I let perfect things like this die!" Calum said.
Ashton stood up and sighed. "Calum..a flower is supposed to die eventually..you didn't do anything at all you on-"
"No no! Ashton I touched it! I touched it! uncle was right..I can't touch anything without destroying it" Calum said and cried harder.
Ashton looked at Calum with sympathy. The tears falling from his face and the dead flower in his small hands. Calum was too pure for this world.
Ashton chuckled and embraced Calum in a hug.
"Calum..you forgot to add water...it's completely fine" Ashton said and rubbed his back.
"W-water?" Calum asked. "Yes water, so it'll make the flower last longer" Ashton said smiling down at Calum.
Calum looked up for a second before letting out a small sigh and hiding his face in Ashton's chest.
He felt stupid..

Calum was sat in Ashton's place of the castle. Ashton was out on the field today and Ashton had told him to stay home. Tho Calum wanted to do something. He felt useless doing nothing.
This went on for a whole week now and Calum wanted it to stop. He was going to join Ashton on the field tomorrow either he liked it or not.
For now he had to find a way too make himself usefull. Calum sighed as he fell backwards on the bed.
What could he possibly do?
He decided to explore and see what Ashton was all about. Calum smiled as he jumped up and looked around the room.
He decided to open his closet and search trough there. He saw Ashton's clothes neatly placed on the shelfs and a box on the bottom.
Calum was curious and grabbed the box. He crawled onto the bed and placed the box between his legs before opening it up.
Calum sighed as he just saw a bunch of letters. He closed the box by putting the lid back on and placing it back into the closet.
Calum then decided to go into another room. This room was way bigger than his bedroom and had a huge sofa in it. It was also decorated in gold, red and white. Calum hated the colours, it was supposed to be black.
Calum only really liked the painting on the wall above the fire place. It was a painting off a dessert at night with the moon washing over the sand hills.
Calum smiled to himself when he saw a bunch of books laying on the table. He excitedly went over there and sat down in one of the four chairs.
He opened a book with certain maps in it. One caught his eye, it was a map of the valley of death. In other words, his old 'home'.
"This isn't correct" Calum said as he saw that the tunnel was placed on the right side instead of the left. Calum shook his head as he saw even more mistakes in the map. He decided to close this book for now.
He grabbed the next one on the pile. A book about fighting strategies. Calum was very curious about this one and decided to read the first chapter.
He decided to have a break after a few minutes and went into Ashton's bedroom again. This day was just so boring. He was alone and there wasn't anything fun to do besides reading and looking at paintings.
Calum decided to change into normal clothes since he was still in his night gown.
He opened the closet again and sighed at the colours. Calum had to deal with the fact these people didn't wear black.
He took out the darkest colours possible and ended having an oversized blouse and pants. He looked like a complete idiot as he looked into the mirror.
He shrugged it off and went back to the other room to continue his book on fighting strategies.
He decided reading only one more chapter, but ended up reading the whole book and falling asleep with his head on the table and a book underneath his arms.

Ashton had came back late that night to see Calum sleeping in the same position. He chuckled and stood besides him. "Hey.." Ashton whispered softly and rubbed Calum's back. Calum slightly woke up.
"Mmh.." Calum hummed as he rubbed his eye. "M'coming with you tomorrow..either you like it or not Fletcher" Calum said sleepy and slowly got up. "Okay princess" Ashton said chuckling and grabbed Calum by his waist.
"And..I..those maps aren't correct..I'll show you..in the morning" Calum said as he hugged Ashton's side.
"What maps?" Ashton asked confused. "The book..you have a book" Calum explained.
"Ohh.." Ashton said as he opened the bedroom door. He started panicking inside.
"You don't have to" Ashton said shaking his head.
"I have to" Calum said as Ashton tucked him in. "I feel like I'm lazy anyways..I need to do something Ashton..." Calum whispered softly.
Ashton sighed "I get that..we'll do something fun tomorrow..okay?" Ashton said as he got undressed. Calum nodded "okay" he softly said as he turned himself around.
Ashton joined Calum and spooned him. "I'll show you the sun in the morning..but I'm still afraid you'll get burned" Ashton whispered in Calum's ear.
"I'll be fine.." Calum said back. Those words repeated in Ashton's head. He was petriffied..
