Boisterous Boy Problems
Recap:
He led the girls over to a pair of boys that were standing alone in the corner.
"This is Miles," John said, pointing to a curly brown haired boy. Miles held out his hand and Isabele and Arya shook it.
Arya nudged Isabele. "He's cute," she said suggestively. Isabele rolled her eyes, but she felt her cheeks heating up. She averted her gaze from her best friend's to the other boy's. He had floppy blond hair, sky blue eyes, and fair skin.
Isabele glanced at her friend and saw Arya's eyes widen in approval.
"This young man right here, girls," John said, "is Liam."
Arya gasped and looked over at Isabele, who grinned.
"Miles and Liam, these two girls are Isabele and Arya," said John, indicating the girls.
Liam's eyes scanned Arya's body, looking her up and down hungrily. Arya swallowed.
"Okay girls, find a spot and sit down. The meeting will start in a minute," John said.
Arya snatched Isabele's hand and yanked her over to a pair of empty chairs. Isabele giggled.
Arya lightly hit her arm. "Stop! I'm serious. That was terrible."
"He was totally checking you out," Isabele said, laughing. "I was right. He is super hot! Loopy Liam turned into Loverboy Liam."
"Stop!" Arya cried, blushing red.
"Ooh, you like him!" Isabele said, her eyes wide.
Arya turned even redder, but stayed silent.
Suddenly, the two boys came over and sat down, Liam next to Arya and Miles by Isabele, who's face was tinted pink.
Arya leaned over and whispered in Isabele's ear, "Looks like I'm not the only one who's gonna have a real hot summer."
"Oh my God!" Isabele whispered back, pulling away from Arya. Isabele's face burned red as she thought about her friend's suggestive tone.
"Isabele, right?" came Miles' voice from beside her.
Isabele looked at him, momentarily surprised. "Yeah," she responded quietly.
"Cool. I'm Miles," he said, giving her an adorable grin.
"I know," she said. He laughed.
"I love your hair, it's so long," said Miles, reaching over and tucking a loose strand behind her ear.
Isabele felt tingles all down her back. "Thank you," she said, masking the shyness she felt. "I've been growing it out all year."
Suddenly, Arya reached over and snatched Isabele's hand, squeezing it tightly. Isabele jumped and looked over at her friend. Arya was talking to Liam and he was laughing at something she had said previously.
Arya was blushing and Isabele grinned seeing her friend's shy side come out around Liam.
-_-_-_-After The Meeting And Dinner-_-_-_-
The two girls were heading back to their cabin after a night full of instructions and food. Arya dragged her best friend back to their cabin through the darkness. The second the door was closed behind them Arya started talking like crazy.
"Oh my God did you see that he was so fucking cute and funny and he seemed to like me do you think he liked me or what?" she said all in one breath.
"Woah, slow down," Isabele said.
"Yeah, and what happened with you and Miles?" Arya interrupted.
Isabele blushed. "We just...talked. And that's the truth," she said sharply, seeing the look Arya was giving her. "It might've gone further if you hadn't interrupted with your death squeeze of my poor hand."
Arya laughed. "Death squeeze, huh?" Isabele rolled her eyes.
"To answer your question, yes, I do think he liked you from the way he checked you out." She smirked.
"Yeah, but-but- Loopy Liam!" Arya cried desperately.
Isabele grinned and flopped down on her bed. "Well, Loopy Liam and Mad Miles have got me exhausted. I'm gonna change and go to bed."
"Me too," Arya agreed. "But seriously? Mad Miles?" She giggled.
Isabele ignored her and sat up, pulling her suitcase open once more. She grabbed a pair of grey sweats and a plain white t-shirt and changed quickly.
She got into bed after closing her suitcase and shoving it into the floor, and pulled the covers over her body.
"You're turning off the light," Isabele called to Arya, who was changing in the bathroom.
There was no answer. She rolled over and buried her face in the pillow until she heard Arya exit the bathroom and flick off the light.
"'Night, Bells," Arya said to Isabele.
"'Night, Arya," Isabele responded.
The next morning, Isabele woke up at seven to see Arya laying on her bed and reading. Two mugs, one blue, one green rested on the nightstand between the two beds.
Isabele yawned and stretched. "One of these for me?" she asked Arya, who sat up and put down her book.
"Yeah," said Arya, pushing the green mug towards her.
Isabele noticed the bags under her best friend's eyes and frowned. "How much sleep did you get?" she asked Arya, sounding worried.
"I don't look that tired, do I?" Arya asked, taking a sip of her drink.
"Yeah, you do. Did you have the dream again?" asked Isabele, taking a long drink from her mug.
"It's more of a nightmare," said Arya.
Isabele gave her friend a sympathetic look and took another long drink from her mug. "This is really good," she said. "Did you make it?"
Arya looked grateful for the change of subject. "No, you know I was never good at that kind of thing. I got them from the kitchen."
"Wanna go get breakfast?" Isabele said excitedly.
"I thought you'd never ask," smiled Arya.
Isabele quickly changed into a pair of high waisted denim shorts and a crop top with a pineapple on it, while Arya put on white shorts and a periwinkle halter top.
They both got on their sneakers and Isabele grinned as she pulled on a long cardigan. "Let's go!"
The girls walked over to the kitchens and walked in. They were immediately greeted by delicious smells and clicking noises as people ate.
The thing that caught Isabele's eye first was the huge, rainbow banner that hung from the ceiling. Welcome, Campers! it read.
"Oh yeah!" Isabele said, turning to Arya. "The campers are arriving today!"
Arya's eyes brightened as she looked around at everything.
The girls filled their plates with delicious food and sat down. Suddenly, there was a loud clinking nose.
"Attention, everyone!" said John loudly. Everyone turned to him immediately. "The campers will be arriving at approximately eleven o-clock. Be ready to welcome them! And check the list outside to see who your partner is and what cabin you'll be counseling. Thank you!"
The chatter returned and Isabele and Arya looked at each other excitedly. They hurried to eat and then rushed outside to check the list.
Luckily, there was nobody else there yet. Isabele pored over the list, looking for her name.
Suddenly, she found it. "Ooh, Arya, look, I'm with-oh. I'm with Miles! We counsel Lily Cabin! Oh, God, I'm with Miles."
Arya laughed. "Ha, ha, I'm with-Liam! What!? No!"
"Who's laughing now?" Isabele teased. "What cabin do you have?"
Arya checked again. "Umm, we counsel Buttercup Cabin. Apparently it's flower names? Weird."
Isabele laughed. "Want to go find our campers' cabins?"
Arya smiled. "Yeah, let's go!"
First, they found Buttercup Cabin, and went went inside to come it out. There were three bunk beds with blue sheets and a bathroom, along with one TV on the opposite wall from the bunk beds. Arya smiled and patted one of the beds. "I could get used to this," she says happily.
Next up, they found Lily Cabin. It was the same but the beds had white sheets instead of blue like Buttercup.
The girls walked around camp a bit, getting used to everything again, and sat down by the river to relax for a bit. Isabele checked her watch and jumped up.
"It's ten forty-five!" she cried. "We have to get back to meet Miles and Liam and greet the campers!"
The girls hurried back and Arya and Isabele split up.
Isabele ran to meet Miles, who was standing by the entrance to the camp holding a sign that read Lily Cabin. Isabele tapped his shoulder.
"I'm here," she said. He turned and, seeing her, smiled.
"The campers are arriving," he pointed out, gesturing toward the many cars stopping at the camp's entrance. "Want to hold the sign?"
She took it and held it high over her head.
"Lily Cabin, over here!" Miles called as the campers started getting out of the cars. "Lily Cabin!"
Soon enough, there were six shy-looking campers grouped around Miles and Isabele, and they began leading them over to the cabin.
"This way," said Isabele, looking over her shoulder to check that all six campers were still there. They walked into the cabin and shut the door behind them.
"Okay," Miles said. "We're going to do an ice breaker, for us to get to know you and for you to get to know each other. Let's all sit in a circle."
The campers grouped up and sat in a circle on the floor.
"I'll go first," said Miles. "My name is Miles, I'm twenty-two, and my favorite sport is soccer. You next," he motioned to Isabele.
"Okay. I'm Isabele, I'm twenty-one, and my favorite sport is softball." She looked at the next camper in line, a girl with long blonde hair in a braid and round glasses.
"Okay," she said shyly. "I'm Marie, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is...probably swimming, if that counts."
Isabele nodded and smiled. "Hi, Marie."
After Marie, there was another girl with her long brown hair down. "I'm Emma, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is tennis."
"I'm Kayla, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is basketball," said a red-headed girl.
"I'm Jackson, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is soccer."
"My name is Kade, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is basketball."
"I'm Jacob, I'm ten, and my favorite sport is baseball."
"Great!" Miles exclaimed, when all the campers were finished introducing themselves. "Does anyone here know anyone else?"
Kayla raised her hand. "Kade and I are twins," she answered.
"That's cool," said Isabele.
"Yeah," Miles agreed. "Now, campers, we're going to pick our beds, and then we can go have some lunch. Let's go!"
In the end, Marie and Emma shared a bunk, Kayla and Kade shared one, and Jackson and Jacob shared one.
"Let's head to lunch, and we'll meet up back here at 12:45, okay?" asked Miles.
The campers nodded and headed over to the kitchen. Miles and Isabele went too, chatting a bit along the way.
"I hope they all become friends," Isabele said.
"Most likely," Miles replied. "See you later!" For they had arrived at the kitchen.
"Arya!" Isabele cried happily, seeing her friend. "How was it?"
"Good!" said Arya. "Our campers are named Jonathan, Randall, Zach, Sarah, Willow, and Paige. They are so cute, they're all eight!"
"Aww," said Isabele. "Ours are Jackson, Jacob, Kade, Kayla, Emma, and Marie, and they're all ten. It's really cool, Kade and Kayla are identical twins! They look so alike. And Miles is so great with all of them!"
"Really? Liam seemed kinda shy, I had to take charge. But he got better as we progressed."
"Do you think the eight year olds are gonna have trouble sleeping alone, away from home?" Isabele wondered.
"Yeah, they'll be fine," Arya dismissed the question. "But you are lucky, the ten year olds have already been through the drill. Remember, the eight year olds are the newest?"
"Yeah, I know," Isabele said, as her stomach grumbled. "Let's get some food, though, and we can chat while eating.
The rest of the day was full of more activities. Isabele, Miles, and the campers went canoeing, and they played a game of kickball. For dinner, they all roasted hot dogs, hamburgers, and s'mores for dessert.
Arya and Isabele fell asleep fast that night, exhausted from the amazing day full of fun events.
