John:"I'm not upset. You should've told me earlier, at least you've told me now. I knew you two liked each other a lot, anyone with eyes could see it. Am I heart broken? Yes I am, but the heart wants what it wants and you want him, I could never compete with that. I guess this is the end then"
He says the last motioning to the both of us
A-M:"I'm so sorry"
I'm full on crying, I really feel bad
John:"it's fine, really. It'll hurt for a while, but I'll get over it"
We hug and then he leaves, at least it wasn't messy, I just hope we could remain friends.
I call Tania and inform her and 10minutes later, she's here with a big tub of ice cream, she makes me laugh and helps me calm down
Tania:"so are you going to tell massimo right away?"
A-M:"uh no, I'll give it a bit time"
Tania:"aren't you tired of giving time? You need to act and take charge girl. He's an eligible bachelor, the most wanted y'know?"
I lean my head on the couch and groan. Then we watch some movies and she leaves when it gets too late.

The weekend goes in a blur, I didn't leave the house or reach out to anyone.
Now, I'm on my way to work, I was informed we will be heading back to our former office at the publishing house, our work at the other office was done and I was more than grateful, because I wanted to see John, to know If we're really cool.

I get into my office and work begins on full swing, no time to even listen to Tania's latest office gossip. Massimo has been extra busy today, I want him! But I don't know how...

Just like yesterday, today is really busy and massimo has been in and out of meetings all day, when I hand him his coffee, he's on the phone, pacing as he speaks on the phone, one hand holding the phone to his ear, the other holding the mug.
I just stand there and wait for the right time and the moment he gets off the phone, he's about to talk to me, I walk up to him with bold strides and I pull his head down to me and kiss him, at first he's tense, then he drops the mug and holds me tighter. one hand on my waist drawing me closer, the other gripping my hair. Then he pulls away and rubs his thumb on my now swollen bottom lip and leans his forehead on mine
Massimo:"hey"
A-M:"I broke up with John"
He frowns a little and steps back to examine my face
Massimo:"why? Did he hurt you?"
He clenches his teeth, as the frown on his face gets deeper. I smile and shake my head, but he still looks at me clearly concerned
A-M:"it's because I realised I'm in love with you and leading him on won't be fair to him"
Massimo:"you love me?"
He says with a smile that grows each second, till he's grinning like a Cheshire cat
A-M:"yes massimo"
Massimo:"say it again"
A-M:"I love you"
Massimo:"fucking hell! I love you too cara, I love you so much!"
He pulls me in for another kiss, when we pull away, the smile doesn't leave his face. He's about to lean in for another kiss, when there's a knock on the door.
Massimo:"who's it?"
He snaps and almost growls
John:"John Harris sir"
My eyes widen and massimo pecks my cheek and goes back to his seat
Massimo:"come in"
When he walks in, he smiles at me and I smile back and walk out of the office.

I'm nervous, I've not seen him since we broke up
John:"Skai"
My train of thoughts are interrupted and I look up to see John
A-M:"hey"
John:"I uh, I just resigned"
He says as he runs a hand through his hair and let's out a nervous laugh
A-M:"omg John! Why?"
John:"ah nothing much, I got a new job, it's in another state and I have to start soon, so I'm flying out early tomorrow"
I stand and rush to him and wrap my arms round his neck
A-M:"I'm sorry..."
A tear escapes my eye
John:"oh no Skai, don't cry. I really need this move, I need to heal and move on, and there are other opportunities for me out there, don't beat yourself up about it."
He strokes my cheek and grins and I smile back at him. Then we hug again and he leaves...
