The moment we sit in the car, I let out a breath I was holding through out lunch
Chris:"Skai I'm sure there's a perfect reason..."
A-M :"take me to the hotel... Please"
Chris:"I'm sorry Skai"
A-M :"it's fine just take me back"
We drive back to the hotel, I go to my room and just lay on the bed, I'm unable to even cry because its not really a heartbreak thing, like I'm not even supposed to be heartbroken, we weren't in a relationship or anything like that. One part of me wants to get on the next available flight back home, but the other more reasonable part of me is advising me to stay, because I'm here for work. This is what happens when the boss and his worker start messing around, it always ends in a disastrous manner. He never liked me, it just happened that I'm here with him in this suite, in a different country, alone. I'm sure it would still have ended the moment we were back in the office, it was bound to happen, how could I be so stupid!... I hear a knock and when I don't answer, the door opens
Chris:"hey"
A-M :"hey"
Chris:"I know you hate him right now, but I'm sure there's an explanation for all of that"
A-M :"he doesn't even have to explain anything to me. Like I told you before, there's nothing going on between us."
Chris:"thats not true Skai"
A-M :"can we change the topic?"
He nods and sits on the bed
Chris:"what do you do for fun?"
A-M :"Read or go out with my friends"
Chris:"what kind of books do you read?"
A-M :"romance and mystery/thriller"
Chris:"cool... So what are you doing now?"
A-M :"just reading this article online"
Chris:"can I see?"
I turn the laptop towards him
A-M :"okay... But hey, don't judge me"
He crosses his heart and we laugh
Chris:"ten Ways to get a boyfriend huh?"
I blush and look away
A-M :"yeah... I've been getting some tips from there, some of us can't attract love easily you know"
Chris :"hmmn... I'll be right back, let me get us drinks, so i can concentrate and really read that article, I might get a few tips too, but for a girlfriend"
He says already standing and heading towards the door
A-M :"you don't need it, all you have to do is give em ladies the killer smile and that's all it takes"
He turns and gives me a sad smile and his eyes look far away, then he let's out a short small laugh and shakes his head
Chris:"it's not that easy Skai... I want love, not a quick bang"
A-M :"did you have to say bang?"
We start laughing and he goes to the kitchen and in no time he walks back in with a tray, carrying two glasses of orange juice and a bowl of cheetos
A-M:"welcome back sire"
Chris:"thank you mi lady... Here you go. Now shall we?"
He hands me my own glass, I scoot over so we can sit comfortably on the bed and lean on the headboard with the mac book infront if us and bowl of cheetos between us...
