Chapter 7 Eat, Sleep, Breathe and Believe:)

Chapter 7

Eat, Sleep, Breathe, Believe :)

We all know that a healthy body is the first step to healthy and pleasing personality.

I can assure you I always avoid people who are frequently complaining about their ill health.

Well since I am a nice person, I do lend them an ear, offer sympathies and few remedies too which they seldom accept but honestly I try to keep an arms length from them.

They bring in too much negativity and I do love them because when they talk about their illness they give vibrations to the negative health and it hikes so to keep them safe I try and avoid discussions of sickness and ill health to them but in a very polite and interesting way.

So my main aim in the chapter is to convince you that healthy body is healthy mind and therefore healthy and attractive personality.

I am sure there are plenty of my sweetest readers who'd contradict to my policy...

Trust me I have come across people who have objected the course.

Why would we attract illness?

How can we control our health, its destiny?

Its rubbish, health and healthy living, live life king-size...

But I have a separate argument and I would honestly admit that this chapter is inspired, derived and is an extension of Walad Wattles "Science of good health"

So in short this chapter is a short summary of the entire book.

EAT: I would not ask you to starve and diet if you are fat nor would I advice you to gulp loads of calories if you are too slim or lanky.

"Earn your food" as quoted directly from the book.

He intends to say you need to work to feel hungry and EAT only if you are hungry.

Eat till your hunger is satisfied with an add on condition that you would stop once your hunger is swapped by your appetite

Do's on How to eat

1. Eat only when you are hungry

2. Enjoy your food

3. Pass an un audible word of gratitude with every bite you intake

4. Eat slowly taking your own time, never be in a rush to finish your meal

5. Have uninterrupted meals without an emergency call or meeting.

6. Stop once you are full.

Don'ts

1. Don't eat because you should eat or its time for your meal.

2. Don't get carried away by your taste buds, there is no way to satisfy them.

3. Don't be in a hurry to finish your meal

4. Never curse what you are eating instead offer gratitude every time you start eating your meal.

Sleep

A small FACT about me, I used to sleep like a baby before I had my own babyJ

I remember the night my little one was born, I was extremely tired and exhausted with the labor pains and even sedated for recovery but still I used get at even a small noise be it a small oooaaw by my baby or the click of the conditioning compressor.

I was worried for the baby. I thought she would wake up mid of the night and would need my feed, and therefore I was worried or STRESSED in capital letters.

So the major reason of stress is our expectations from ourselves.

And that stress is the enemy of our sleep.

Today I guess more than half the population is not sleeping well or peacefully.

Even if they are so tired that they sleep well they wake up groggily because of their habit of using snooze.

Snooze feels like a bless for the survivors of today, it is an intimation that you have few more minutes of the early rise for yourself but trust me it is a curse, an addiction.

Also my dear friends apart from stress today the stress busters like watching late night movies or chatting with your friends or any other random activity that involves sitting in one place *I might eliminate reading from this list (winks)*

But still I believe or rather it's a fact that a continuous eight hour sound sleep is very important of course there are levels to it

1. Where we tend to sleep

2. When we are sleeping so sound that even breaking of drums couldn't be heard. If you object than please I have come across people who are very easily disturbed in their sleep yet there are few hours in the night that they sleep tight enough not to be disturbed by loud bang

3. The final stage where you are semi conscious, relaxed and ready to get up.

So the three levels also proved scientifically are part of our daily life and ech should be complied with for a healthy and beautiful living which would eventually lead to healthy and impressive personality

Few side effects of lack of sleep:

1. Your decision making power is affected

2. You tend to lose temper quickly

3. Most of the times you over eat because you do not realize what exactly your body is demanding

4. You are inviting illness.

So eventually sleep becomes a very important part of your personality.

A well-slept person is always cheerful and attractive too.

Do's

1. Say a prayer of gratitude before going to sleep.

2. Make a short recap of events of the day when your head hits the pillow and erase the events that you did not like in that day with an invisible eraser and rewrite it in your imaginations like you want them to be.

3. Let the room you sleep in be neat, tidy and properly ventilated.

4. Earn your sleep: work so hard in the day that your body yearns for the sleep.

5. Smile a little no matter how dire the circumstances before going to sleep.

Don'ts:

1. Do not keep your mobile phone, tablets or laptops in 5o mts of your radius.

2. Do not argue before sleeping.

3. Avoid caffeine intake an hour before sleeping.

4. Do not recap your plans for next day again and again no matter how difficult or interesting they are.

5. Do not sleep with a grudge against anyone. If possible distribute or donate forgiveness honestly before going to bed* whispers: its free*

Breathe

Natural healing therapies have effectively concluded that we fall sick because we fail to breathe well.

I honestly found it funny when I heard it for the first time because the first chapter of elementary science that I remember was the one stating that a human being breathes every time. He cannot stay alive if he doesn't breathe, even if he tries he cannot stop breathing.

So this is ridiculous I concluded.

But later as I grew or shall I mention specifically few years ago I had terrible cold and was treated properly for the same. In fact it was so bad that I had to repeat the dosage of antibiotics I was better in the sense that I got rid of high body temperature but was still suffering weirdly.

My jaw or cheekbones would stiffen to an extent that they'd hurt and that was the time when I was introduced to breathing meditation techniques.

Though it was difficult with running nose still when I was offered hope that it would help me get rid of my illness I complied.

I then learnt how we hold our breath whenever we are uneasy and that affects the fighting cells of our body.

I started studying or analyzing further and realized that whenever we are conscious, nervous or excited we hold our breath for durations longer than our body does in natural or normal conditions and then the after effects are seen.

A very good example is breathing exercises taught while swimming classes.

Though it is not given much importance in other sports but yes they are very much variably taught in other sports or athletics.

I would share it with a sport I am closely observing Tennis.

When tired the players often tend to take wrong decisions of the shot to be played and that is completely in the game, no outside involvement.

So they are asked to breathe, deep breathe during breaks.

I will explain it to you...

When we are tired we stiffen our muscles and our breathing, though the point be noted we keep on breathing because we are alive but the breaths are irregular, that is the time span between two breath is in appropriate or you may say we take in enough oxygen and breathe out a little less carbon dioxide which in turn effects the functioning of our brain eventually our body.

So taking deep breaths is the answer:)

I in no way am saying that you will feel active and energized all over again but you'll definitely have the power and energy to take right decisions.

So my dear friends' BREATHING is the key.

Do's

1. At least two minutes in a day, stop or take a break from whatever you are doing and try to breath normally. No need to emphasize too much, simply breathe like you normally do.

2. This is the best Do that I always follow. We get ready whenever we move out for n occasion or an event or simply going to work or school.

So when you are about to leave and once you have combed your hair make it a habit to straighten your spine and deep breathe for five times and move ahead with a smile.

I promise you the work you are going for will give splendid results.

3. Offer gratitude to the almighty each day for the breaths you take each day.

Believe

The most powerful resource that a human being has today in their daily life is Belief.

Nothing can beat the strength of the belief.

The sun shines every day in the morning because we all believe we will see it shine brightly the next morning

Okay let me give a simple example if you are asked to write the alphabets in English how many of you can raise your hand sand say confidently that you can.

I guess most of you who know English have the belief in them that they CAN do it.

Now another exercise how about write the alphabets in Spanish or Italian or whichever language you are not familiar with.

You cannot do it. You don't know. Your belief is strong here.

Now let me add a variation.

Lets assume that you have learnt Spanish language two or five years back and have the knowledge of the alphabets.

Still if I would have asked you to write Spanish alphabets would you have volunteered as quickly as you volunteered for English or any other language that you re very well comfortable with....

So we do things comfortably and efficiently when we actually believe that we can do it.

Belief is always accompanied with trust and confidence.

If you believe you can walk straight then you can do it.

But when I ask you to climb Mount Everest then if you haven't trained professionally for the same your belief will waiver and you would step back.

So lets get back to the point where we start with good health

If we believe that we'd be healthy. The universe, our maker, our almighty has blessed us with a body that is meant to be healthy and fine we WOULD be healthy.

I have often come across people saying I am allergic to so and so stuff and I fall ill and I do not in any case deny the fact in medical terms but belief in your good health can erase all the illness in your body.

Shall I give you a fact of mine*winks*

I hope I might not sound bipolar coz I talk about belief in good health but lets come face off with the truth.

I always believe that whenever I take in Honey and lemon in luke-warm water in the morning which is one of the best remedy to good health I fall sick, not sick with fever but I tend to get a lot of painful ulcers in my mouth and trust me they are too many, I seethe in pain.

Somehow I ended up believing that if I add same honey and lemon in the luke warm water with a tea bag of green tea, I am fine, rather I love it and guess what?....

No ulcers.

I like the taste too.

So I leave the decision to you.

Has this got anything with belief?

Another good example of belief in respect to good health as clearly and scientifically prove din medical terms is the placebo effect in which a patient takes the medicine believing that he'd would be cured with the same and the faith and trust helps him heal with that particular medicine. The vice versa is the effect if you do not believe in the doctor or the medicine you are taking.

So my dear friends Eat, Sleep, Breathe and Believe then health and happiness because that is what we as humans are been designed for ...

Just like a mother gives birth to a baby keeping in mind, her heart and soul to take care of her child's health, wellbeing and prosperity so has our CREATOR created the universe and us to help us live our life happily.

A simple acceptance of the fact will go a long way in enhancing your personality
