Chapter 2 Step 2 Appearance Should Speak YOU

Chapter 2

Step 2

Appearance should speak YOU

“Beauty is produced by the pleasing appearance and good taste of the whole, and by the dimensions of all the parts being duly proportioned to each other.”

---Vitruvius

Appearance reveals your truth

Appearance is blinding

Appearance is the first step to judgment

Beautiful appearance should compliment the beauty within

We often stress before moving out…

·      How do I look?

·      What will he/she think about me?

·      Am I presentable enough?

·      Do I look fat?

·      Am I dressed fine?

·      Is this the right colour?... right shoes?... right bag?

The list is endless…

First impression is the last impression.

Appearance: Well this is associated with dilemma and it is whether exterior presence is important or not.

It is a twofold theory

Long term and Short term.

If you speak about long term, yes, it hardly matters how you look

Gradually, as you stay put, your efficiency and true personality will overpower their judgments and you will get what you deserve.

Unfortunately, though what I pick up and this is on MY personal level is tomorrow, is uncertain and therefore one should live for the moment.

So yes!!!! Appearance is important.

That doesn't mean that I should over do with my make up and brands.

Appearance to me is the first look and you stir positivity in the former one who sees you.

Things that come under appearance:

1.Face: a neatly combed bright face,

* Shaving can be an accessory for guys.

* Girls can use tiny bit of gloss and mascara.

Again, if you carry your whole made up look well go for it!

What is essential is, you should be comfortable with what you are showing the onlooker.

Trust me it affects.

I remember I wore my daughter’s new and extravagantly expensive gloss strawberry flavored to the meetings and I have a bit of aversion with essence of strawberry.

So although the gloss was one of the best brands available in the market but the flavor pricked out my focus.

My assistant later remarked that

I wasn't my usual confident self and was pursing my lips quite frequently.

And the deal....

Don't ask about it.

So goes with the clothes.....

Go ethnic and do not blindly follow the trends.

Though sometimes, trendy clothes do give you the confidence.

Therefore, I would conclude DO NOT rely on friends or parents to help you shop.

Take a dress go to the trial room and if the person in front of the mirror gives you the thumbs up,

Go for it!

If you have doubts then the dress doesn't deserve you.

There are plenty out there and one would be just perfect for you.

Bags: no one leaves without a bag or you might replace it mobile covers but they speak about YOU. So chose wisely and what you prefer.

Shoes: Pencil heels are a big turn on but make sure you wear the perfect fit and size. Do not hesitate to walk for a while and take your time, wear , sit and relax while purchasing and wear for enough time before you clear the bills because the discomfort starts only after five minutes of continuous wearing.

My personal agenda is I do not compromise on brands. I might buy one pair in a year instead of two or three but they would be the most comfortable brand.

Do's

# Always wear neatly ironed clothes.

# Wear comfortable clothes and make up.

# Before you pick a dress for yourself for an outing look at it and then yourself and chant to yourself I will look perfect in this and wait for the magic.

#Piles of clothes on floor before any date or meeting/outing is start of negativity. It might ruin your day.

# Feel free to use matching hairdos and accessories even if they are not in trend and you like them.

# If you can carry heavy make up well, it can never go wrong.

Easy examples being all the Flight stewardesses and the salesgirls of the branded outlets have it mandatory to wear make up. Obviously, because it gives a warm and soothing effect on the onlooker and you look attractive too.

Again we have an asterisk here. Don’t start abruptly start slowly if you haven’t ever used make up by using gloss and liner then add some base foundation and mascara and so on, the list goes on increasing.

# Good news for guys is there are new innovative haircuts and beard dos and I am sure there is one that perfectly suits your face cut.

Again please trust your choice and feel confident with whatever you are wearing.

If Ronaldo were conscious about his Mohawk hairstyle there wouldn’t be millions following his duel.

For my Indian readers, same goes for Aamir khan’s [leading Bollywood star] Ghajini cut.

The reason the hairstyle became popular was he wore it confidently.

#Eat healthy diet and drink lots of water.

Scientifically water removes impurities from your body and adds shine to your face, an inner glow, which no make up can substitute so hydrate yourself

 # Last, not the least, always carry a smile. It’s the biggest asset, a biggest accessory

Don’ts

# Don’t blindly copy or follow trends for it isn’t essential that what suits the XYZ celebrity would suit you too.

# Don’t ever be negative about your appearance, tell yourself you are beautiful inside and outside.

# Don’t go overboard with things. Remember your appearance should speak your personality what you are and not what others want you to be.

# Don’t go for outfits either smaller or bigger than your size. Pick just the right size or discard the thing

Facts:

Shrusha [name changed] always wanted to be a fashion model and when she was first year in her university she read the notice inviting interested students for selection for the model of an upcoming fashion cum dance show organized by university as a part of their Cultural Event

Excited and nervous she asked all her friends for help. Where one helped her with her stilettoes; other guided her with the kind of walk that would be bellowed.

Some worked on her hair, some gave tips for her face, each changing her transforming her to a different person.

And when she went for an audition she could barely walk, her act became the stock of mockery and she felt so humiliated that she gave up the very thought of being a fashion model.

She is now a law student but currently when her designer called her up in havoc that her one of the models had ditched for the show coming up next week and she urgently needs one and there was none who could join in in short notice.

She volunteered to help and the audition was the same day.

This time she did not put in much effort. She simply flicked her rubber band from the pony, combed her hair straight, the crinkles of her white shirt were worked by her own self by pushing it inside her nude colored trousers.

Giving one glance to the mirror she went to her studio and this time she walked like a normal self.

The trainer was not satisfied with her walk but he agreed that the way she walked with her head lifted high, shoulders straight and her face spoke volumes he took her in, the walk could be worked upon and that was what he was paid for.

Shrusha might have continued her law but she does participate in fashion shows and enjoys her little recreational activity as a model.

She believes she is her true self when she is walking on the ramp.

I had already edited and finished the chapter getting it ready to pubish but I had to return back and add another fact without which the chapter would be incomplete.

Though it involves me personally still it is needed.

The concept behind this fact being the constant debate whether outer appearance is important or not though it is a personal perception and I respect every individual personality

So…

Fact 2

I have been running personal grooming batches and I have noticed and experienced that whenever I being a faculty am well dressed the students pay more attention and are more energetic and enthusiastic throughout their class thus learning more and I get what I want..

Results.

Conclusion: Your appearance should speak about yourself. Don’t miss the pic on the right. That’s exactly what I mean when I say do not pretend on your appearance.

However your appearance is, it should show your inner beauty
