6 months later

Nari didn't know where she was or what was happening.....all she could feel was pain. Tears dripped down her cheeks as she tried to move, but something strong was holding her down. Something strong and something terrifying. It was getting hard to breathe now but the girl knew that she wouldn't be able to scream. Even if she could cry out for help, she knew that no one would come. She couldn't do anything except lie there and take it.

Suddenly a loud voice boomed from somewhere very close. Her body burned with more intensity than ever before, like every cell was on fire. Nari wanted to run, she wanted to fight back and yell and kick and bite and do whatever she could to get out, but it was impossible. She was useless.

And so for the third time this week Nari woke up screaming.

"Hey! Hey! What's going on?" The door to the girl's bedroom flew open, flooding the room with light from the hallway, "Nari?"

"Tae," She whimpered, "Please."

Taehyung swiftly made his way over to the bed and gathered the girl up in his arms, "Shhh, it's okay princess. Everything is okay." He kissed her head and gently rocked her back and forth as she cried. "Was it another nightmare?"

Nari nodded, "Y-Yeah."

"You're okay. It was just a dream, princess. You're safe now, I've got you."

A sudden wave of nausea flooded the girl's body. She knew what was coming next and she hated it so so much.

"Sorry," Nari apologized and shoved herself out of the boy's embrace, "I need to go."

She stumbled her way to the bathroom and barely made it in time. Maybe eating dark chocolate ice cream before bed wasn't such a great idea. Nari cringed at herself in the dim lighting, throwing up always made her feel so disgusting.

"Hey there," A familiar voice soothed her ears as gentle hands rubbed her back, "Everything okay, darling?"

Nari shook her head, "No. Not at all." She turned around, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay, there's nothing to be sorry about." Namjoon reassured her, "Taehyung is going to get you something to settle your stomach and then maybe we can talk about it, okay?"

"Okay." The girl nodded weakly.

Taehyung reappeared in the doorway with a bright red twin popsicle. He split it into halves and handed the girl one of them, sticking the other half in his mouth, "Here you go, princess."

Nari mumbled words of gratitude and accepted the cold food. She stood up and gripped Namjoon's hand as she struggled to maintain her balance for a few seconds.

"Okay. Let's go."

Namjoon squeezed her hand and kissed the top of her head, "Don't worry, Nari. Everything will be okay."

The trio went back to the room that the boys shared. Nari immediately went to the older boy's bed and pulled the blankets around her, taking a deep breath to slow her pounding heart. Taehyung sat beside the girl and placed a supportive arm around her shoulders. Namjoon knelt down so he was at her eye level and held both of her hands.

"Alright darling," He said gently, "You know that we care about you very much, right? That we love you with all our hearts and we never want anything to hurt you?"

"Yes."

"These nightmares are hurting you, Nari, but they hurt us too. We don't want to see you in pain because of them." Taehyung reminded her, "I love you so much, princess, and Namjoon does too; maybe even more than me. Please let us help you, Nari."

The girl nodded, "Okay." She wiped the tears from her eyes and put down her empty popsicle stick, "When I open my eyes in the dream I can't see, but I know that something bad is happening and my body hurts."

"Where does it hurt, darling?" Namjoon asked softly.

"I don't know, everywhere I guess." Nari said and then paused, "And in between my legs too."

The older boy's grip on her hands tightened, "Uh huh. Is there anything else that happens?"

"I want to fight back but I can't. I can't do anything but cry and hurt." Her eyes filled up with tears once again, "I don't want to talk about it anymore. I'm sorry."

Taehyung hugged the girl tightly, "You don't have to, it's okay." He kissed the side of her face and held her as she cried into his chest. The boy shot a worried glance at his companion, who was deep in thought.

"Suga." Namjoon mumbled and stood up, "I'm going to get Suga. I'll grab one of your books too so he can read to you until you fall asleep, I know that he reads the best."

"Don't go-"

"I'll be back soon," He reassured the girl, "Don't worry. Taehyung is here with you and he'll keep you safe. It'll be just like last time, okay?"

With a kiss on the head, Namjoon left their bedroom and stepped across the hall to the room that Jin and Suga shared. He opened the door softly and tiptoed around the piles of dirty clothes on the floor to get to Suga's bed.

"Hey, wake up." Namjoon gently shook the sleeping boy, "Suga, wake up. It's about Nari."

Although he was less than pleased about being woken up at 2 in the morning, he sat up immediately when he heard that it concerned the girl. "Is it another bad dream?" He asked and yawned.

"Yeah, it is. But something is different this time." Namjoon said, "She told us about her dream and it was....unsettling. Especially for a children's nightmare." He paused, "Suga, do you remember hearing about what Nari's life was like before we adopted her? I know you handled most of the paperwork with me, did the headmaster tell you anything or was there something we overlooked in the papers?"

The boy shook his head, "There wasn't really anything extraordinary. From what I remember, Nari was abandoned as a baby and she bounced around orphanages for a bit before coming to Healing Hearts when she was about 5. That's it."

"Hm. I see." Namjoon nodded, "I'll have to look into that. Also would you mind reading to Nari for a bit? I don't think she's going to leave my bed for tonight."

"Yeah, of course I'll read." Suga got out of bed and grabbed a book on his dresser, "Anything to help her feel better."

When they got back to the room they found that Taehyung had managed to get the girl tucked in and under the blankets. She held her arms out to the two boys standing in the doorway and managed a small smile.

"Hello there, lovely," Suga said tenderly as he approached the bed, "I heard you had a bad dream," He gently pressed his forehead against the girl's and lightly kissed the tip of her nose, causing Nari to giggle. The boy pulled a chair from the desk and sat across from her as he opened the book.

Taehyung smiled and stepped back. Now that Suga and Namjoon were here everything would be okay, Nari would go back to sleep soon. He grabbed the pillow off his bed and headed to the room that the three other boys shared. Taehyung hated to leave Nari when she was like this, but he knew that he needed to take care of himself too.

A knight has to be strong, He thought to himself, If I'm not strong for Nari then I'll never be able to help her. She's safe with Suga and Namjoon for tonight. Everything will be okay and I'll be sure to give her a big hug in the morning.

"Alright darling, Suga's here now to read to you until you fall asleep." Namjoon smoothed down the girl's hair on the pillow, "Are you feeling better now?"

Nari nodded, "Uh huh. Thank you, Namjoon. I feel safe now."

"You're always safe when you're here." The boy sat down next to her on the bed and took her hand once again, "I love you."

"Love you too." Nari mumbled and turned to the boy sitting across from her, "Suga? Can you read Cinderella?"

"Of course." The brunette opened the book and began to read. Nari closed her eyes and let the soft cadence of his voice relax her mind.

Namjoon ran his thumb across the girl's palm as he listened to Suga read. Something about Nari's nightmares still seemed off to him. These dreams scared her so much, enough to make her physically ill, and they reoccurred several times a week. They weren't just normal bad dreams. Something hurt her in the past, and hurt her bad.
