         JUNELISE PLACED HER EAR AGAINST HER PHONE once she had clicked the green icon to answer the phone call from her father. She shuffled across her room and sat down on her vanity chair with a small grunt, "Dad? Hey, what's up?"

"Hey, sweetheart!" Her father, Theodore Moon, chirped. "How are you? Did your brother tell you about the situation that we have with traveling to the Outer Banks yesterday?"

         "Yeah, he did." Junelise sat up straighter at the mention of the place that was like a second home to her, "Talking about Outer Banks, why aren't we going there for the summer?" She was met with silence after voicing her question. Junelise furrowed her eyebrows together in confusion and dragged out a 'Hello' to make sure that her father was still on the line.

         "I'm still here." Theodore reassured her before his voice dropped into a low and bewildered tone, "Your brother told you that we're not going to the Outer Banks for the summer?" Junelise was even more confused. She leaned forward and placed her elbows on her vanity, fingers tightly grasping her phone.

         "That's what I said, Dad." Junelise huffed before she stuttered out, "W-Wait, what's going on? Because I'm super confused now."

         "Jesus." Her father sighed heavily, "Alexander, that kid." Another sigh left his lips before he continued, "I told him to tell you that we might not go to the Outer Banks not that we wouldn't go at all. I have some really important business meetings around the time that we would usually leave to go there, so I'm still working to see if we could go because I know both of you would want to see your friends and the island again."

        "Oh my god, Alex." Junelise grumbled, her fingers reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose in annoyance. She let out a small breathy chuckle and leaned back against her vanity chair, "Okay, thanks for letting me know, Dad."

         "Of course." Theodore hummed, "If everything works out, we will be able to leave by the end of June." The end of June was only a week away, and Junelise wanted nothing more for it to arrive already. She exchanged some more words with her father before she said goodbye and hung up the phone. She quickly opened her messages app and clicked on the groupchat that she had with her friends, excited to share the news that she just received.
