The Super Fast ML Track

This was written because I had to get over the Memory Loss (ML) track, despite there being a lot of discussions over the ML track, with highly divided opinions and great disappointment, and to which I have also contributed my share of raving and rantings over various threads and over pms also. And then we get the news that track is all set to wind up.

The entire track had caused me untold grief and I went through the four stages of grief :

1. Denial - no way can Swara not remember her love and resort to calling Sanskaar a murderer, how can Kisen enter and make Swara fall for him, how can...

2. Depression: Swara causing pain to Sanskaar, Swara not feeling any soul connect...

3. Anger - how can Swara's character be butchered, she has a memory loss how can it be that she has stopped being emotional? Just what is deadwood (a much better moniker than Sahil) thinking of himself?

4. Acceptance - the track is over - with nothing in it for anyone.

And I was like, is it indeed over? Fine, we have accepted that the ML track is over but have I truly made peace with it?

NO - I am not over it. And what follows below is my version of how a super-fast express (a little like the bullet trains in Japan) ML Track should have been. (Dialogues - by Sumi (@coolgal270) and Sujata's 'jijii...' wail credited to Sakura (Charmash)for reminding me of it)

Warning: Please note that this post is meant in jest, I have no intentions of hurting anyone with my imagined scenario and I do not think I have written any criticism of any character. If any of you disagree, my apologies in advance.

Time period: Two days after Swara returns to the Baadi and screams Khooni (God save my ears) at Sanskaar.

Scene 1 - at the famous bridge (more accessible than that cliff from which she fell into the river)

Ragini and Swara are taking a stroll on the bridge, reminiscing old days, while the rest of the family members (both Maheshwaris and Gadodias) are strategically hidden, which means that they are in the open, all pretending to be invisible, wondering what Ragini's plan was. She had just asked Sanskaar to be ready for anything and as a precaution had Laksh tie deadwood to a nearby dead tree (he wins the award for best camouflage).

Suddenly, Swara screamed as Ragini pushed her off the bridge into the river. All were stunned (camera flashes, imagine that lighting and crackling of thunder and the accompanying sound effects).

Without missing a heartbeat, Sanskaar immediately jumps into the brown muddy waters and rescues Swara. The rest of the family now break into speech.

Annapurna (with shocked face): "Ragini ye tumne kya kiya?"

Suju (with a very shocked face): "Chori, tu bawli ho gaye ke,je kya kiya?" and then turns to Annapurna and wails, "JiiiJiii... ab mhare chora ka kya hoga?"

Durga Prasad (with not-so shocked face): "Raginii beta, hum samajh nahin pa rahe hain ki tumne ye kya kiya?"

Ram Prasad (with shocked face): just thinks, "is ladki ne ab kya kiya?"

Pari: (with a pouty-sarcastic smiley shocked face) "Ragini, tumse aisi ummed nahin thi, ye kyaaa kiya?"

Adarsh: just looking around with a shocked face) "Hmmm..."

Laksh (with a puzzled face, more bewildered than shocked): "arrey mera baccha, ab ye kya kiya?"

Sanskaar does not waste any words, while he is trying to bring Swara back to consciousness, the ambulance arrives along with the police jeep. (do not ask questions, anything can happen in this story).

Swara and Sanskaar are bundled into the ambulance, the rest of the shocked family members follow them to the hospital in their respective vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Police Inspector issues the standard dialogue to Ragini, "you are under arrest for the murder of Swara."

Ragini shrugs and asks, "Is she dead? Are you sure about that?"

The inspector is silenced and is left pondering on this little fact when Ragini decides to follow everyone else to the hospital (Laksh had stayed back, Ragini asked him to trust her so he does, though he is still quite bewildered).

Scene 2 - at the hospital - all the family members in various expressions of shock and anger.

Sanskaar is convinced Swara will be fine but is curious as to why Ragini did what she did, and Laksh decides not to tax himself by thinking, he waits for Ragini to speak.

Ragini takes a dramatic pause and states, "you must be wondering why I did what I did. I have very valid reasons and before all of you launch into your prepared speeches do hear me out."

(Repeat of face flashes and accompanying sound effects)

Fifteen minutes later, Ragini resumes, slowly pacing the corridor for a greater effect, "You see, everything in the SwaRagini world happens in threes - Swara and Sanskaar got married three times - one sindoor wedding, one forced wedding and one real one. Laksh and I got married thrice - one blackmail wedding, one almost done wedding and one real wedding. I attempted to commit suicide three times, once to get married to Laksh, once when my truth came out and finally when Laksh married Tanya. In all the cases, our deepest wishes came true only in the third round. So I pushed Swara into the river. Simple."

Unfortunately, light did not dawn on most of the spectators – [once again a repeat of face flashes and accompanying sound effects, this time for twenty minutes (the inspector and hospital staff have also joined the melee)] and then the camera zooms on Sanskaar.

He gives a dazzling smile and says, "Thank you Ragini, the first time she was saved from Laksh, no offence, bhai, the second time from Rajat and now from Sahil. I am sure now her memories will be back too."

As though on cue, the nurse rushes in, "Doctor, the patient has regained consciousness and she is asking for Sanskaar!"

Sanskaar gives a look to Ragini - it is awe, pride and absolute gratitude. She smiles in return and says, "Go Sanskaar, your Swara is waiting for you."

This time, there are no flashes, (they used up the entire stock) and while all present start appreciating Ragini, Laksh is beaming with pride at his wife's cleverness.

Final Scene: Emergency Room

Swara is attempting to get out of bed when she sees Sanskaar at the door, she gives a tearful smile and he walks towards her. Without a word, he lifts her into his arms, the place where she is meant to be and she buries her face in the crook of his shoulder, blissful that she is where she should be.

One last word, do not worry about deadwood; I am sure some production assistant would free him, if he is noticed.
