Chapter 89
"I can handle much of what you're asking for, I may need to contact another person, just in case more assistance is needed" he told him as he handed a packet to Chance. "It's all in there, everything you asked for, for when you're ready."
Chance stared at it, fighting back tears. He knew this wasn't going to be easy, but it was a decision that he needed to make. He thanked him as he stood and walked away, leaving Chance in his thoughts.
....
Austin sat there listening to only Tim's side of the conversation. He didn't like the look on Tim's face, it scared him more than not finding Chance at the moment.
"I totally understand" Tim responded as he hung up. He began to pound his hands on the steering wheel, screaming "F U CK", over and over.
"Tim, what, what happened, tell me, you're scaring the hell out of me. Who was that on the phone" Austin pleaded.
Tim got out of the car, paced back and forth, then threw his phone as hard as he could across the parking lot near where he had stopped the car.
Austin jumped out of the car, grabbing Tim "Damn it, tell me what is going on" yelled Austin.
Tim could barely speak he was so angry and now sobbing uncontrollably. He stammered " the..appointment...it's cancelled, indefinitely..."
"Why, who the hell made that decision" Austin asked as he tried to get Tim to calm down and breathe.
Tim took a deep breath and leaned against a nearby tree. "Apparently the specialist he was to see left, right out of the blue, they wouldn't tell me anything more. Only that they could no longer take Chance and didn't know if there would be anyone else that could handle his case, so they were cancelling it" he told him as he kicked the tree, shaking his head out of total disbelief. "Who the fuck does something like that. A man's life is at stake here. Damn it Austin, why can't he catch a break. His entire life has been fucked up because of this. We finally find someone that could help and they up and decide 'oh not my problem'."
"But we have the other appointment in North Carolina, we have a back up plan Tim" he tried to reassure him.
"Have you not paid attention to what has been happening since we got back from break? He's not getting any better, Austin. That appointment is still four months away. He's only going to get worse over the next four months, plus at the moment we have no fucking idea where he even is!" Tim yelled.
