As he ran into the truck stop he stopped himself at the entrance to the diner. There he saw his best friend sitting in the back corner, staring out the window, motionless. He took a minute to gain his composure and to breathe, he had been in a panic since the moment he received the initial call. Not knowing what he was about to encounter, he took a deep breath and walked over to the table. As he stood in front of him for what seemed an eternity Chance finally looked up and simply said "hey, could you just please take me home, I'll explain everything later."

Tim nodded as Chance left money for his coffee and grabbed his bag. Nothing more was said between the two as they drove back to the apartment. Tim refrained from asking any questions but somehow knew whatever happened after he left him couldn't be good and it was scaring the hell out of him.

Back at the apartment Chance only thanked him again and headed to his room. He needed sleep, nothing but sleep and not to think anymore, at least for now.
