Marcus asked Maggie to dinner at the local diner, Hattie's, hoping to get her mind off Chance for just a bit and to let her know he had checked on him and spoken with Tim. He assured her not to worry, that everything would be fine. 

The diner isn't too busy when they arrive, so they take a small table in the back, each ordering a glass of wine while they look over the menu. "I'm not really hungry" Maggie remarks. Marcus looks at her concerned and asks her if she is feeling ok. She assures him she's fine, he knows that it's more due to worry than illness. "Order something light, you need to eat Maggie". She looks at him, nods and smiles "for you, I will".

Chance and Tim arrive at Hatties a short time later. Chance notices Marcus' car in the parking lot.  He takes a deep breath, catching Tim's attention. "What?" he asks. "This should be interesting. There's the Drs. car" he responds. They both get out of the car, walking towards the diner. "You ready for this," Tim asks. "Trying to be" he tells him.

As they enter, Chance sees his mom and Marcus at the small table. Marcus is holding her hands she smiles at him, they seem to be lost in their own world. Chance stands there, watching. Tim notices he's not moving, putting his hand on his back "you can do this" he said quietly. "They do look happy, don't they" Chance told him. "Uh huh, they do. You ready?" he asks.

Chance slowly walks towards their table, still unnoticed by either of them. He walks up behind his mother, leaning down kissing her on the cheek "Hi momma" he says softly. She turns and cups his face in her hands, "Chance, I've...." he stops her. "It's ok momma, it's ok" he tells her as tears roll down her cheeks and he pulls her close. He looks at Marcus and nods. Marcus knows he understands. Marcus then looks at Tim and mouths "thank you". Tim gives him a slight smile, trying to not let anyone see his own tears.
