Dr. Daniels had just got off the phone with Chance when Heather walked into his office. Hoping she had not overheard his conversation he asks her how many patients are scheduled for today.

" Actually at the moment it's a light day. I left a few openings for walk ins, so you could actually be out around 3 pm instead of the usual 7 pm if you'd like, " she replies.

"Sounds great. Why don't you plan on taking the afternoon off. Enjoy the nice weather for a change. You've been working very hard between here and going to school full time. Get out and have some fun."

Heather laughs " you should too. You're always here taking care of everyone else, you need some fun time too".

" Well I was thinking it would be nice to get out and do a little fishing, but I just don't want to have any of my patients have to run to the emergency room if they need help. It's too expensive for most people in this area".

"True, but if you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to take care of them either," she says as she places the charts she was holding down on his desk. "

He smiles, "ok, you're right, we are done at 3 pm then. Deal?"

"Deal", she responds as she walks out of his office.

He shuts the door, locking it to be sure no one can come in then takes out Chances chart and begins the list of tests that will need to be performed as soon as he arrives tonight. Normally he would not want to rush any of them but with the increased occurrence and intensity, he needs answers now. And in order to keep it as quiet as possible it needs to be done tonight.
