Chapter 133
Eight hours on the road and Tim finally pulled into his driveway in Nashville. He had to get away, others may have thought he abandoned Chance as well as everyone else, but that was not the case. He left to clear his mind, to focus on the decisions he needed to consider. The eight hours alone seemed to help immensely. He parked the rental car in the garage, grabbed the mail a neighbor had been dropping off and went inside.
He knew by day break Austin most likely would realize he left. He hadn't told anyone, much like when Chance had went off on his own. He grabbed a beer from the fridge and headed to the back porch. This place had been his solace for the past 4 years, his place to think.

Jenika tossed and turned, unable to sleep she quickly dressed and headed to the hospital. She felt the need to be with her friend, even if just to sit quietly by his side, she needed to be there.
She stood outside his room for a bit watching the nurses do their nightly check. Staff had become very lenient with family and friends allowing as much time with him regardless of the time of day.
Jenika walked in, looking at all the machines she quickly wiped a tear from her eye. "You must be just as frightened as we are" she whispered as she crawled alongside him, holding him near her. She sang softly to him before laying her head on his chest, falling fast asleep.

Having heard the closing of the bus door hours ago, Austin checked the tracker on his phone, at least he knew where Tim was. He understood his leaving, having seen first hand what he dealt with the last two years with Chance. Being asked to take on such responsibility was more than anyone could ask of another, but he admired Tim for agreeing to do so. They all had. They all looked up to him, like the big brother of the family. He rolled over to go back to sleep, he'd tell the guys in the morning.

Heather was the first to arrive at the hospital. She wanted to spend as much time with her brother as possible, whether he knew she was there or not.
Jenika was still asleep next to Chance. Heather tapped her lightly on the shoulder to wake her.
"Any change" she asked as Jenika slid off the bed.
"No" she replied as she stretched and yawned.
"We're running out of time. He has to wake up. What can we do to get him to come back to us" Heather asked.
"Maybe he doesn't want to" Jenika replied, wrapping her arms around Heather in a hug.

Rob and Adam were having breakfast when Austin came up front. They both were just staring off in their own worlds as they ate toast and sipped their coffee.
Austin poured a cup of coffee then sat down beside them. "What y'all thinking about" he asked.
Rob shook his head "everything, I guess. These past 2 years have brought so many changes into this group, I just..just" he said, taking off his glasses and wiping his eyes.
"I can't give up..we can't give up" Adam added as he poured another cup " guys, we have to do something".
"I think its time we visited. To hell with the fans, he needs to know we're here. He needs us and we need him" Austin stated.
"Where's Tim?" asked Adam "I havent seen him since he came back yesterday after the meeting with the doctor"
"He's probably at the hospital" Rob answered "He hates leaving his side for anything".
"Guys, ummm...I heard the bus door shut after we all headed to our bunks. He didn't tell me, but I'm pretty sure he's not at the hospital" Austin replied.
Rob and Adam looked at each other, then Austin. "How do you know, did he tell you something?" Adam asked.
"No, but I checked the tracker on my phone when I didn't hear him come back..he's here" Austin showed them.
"What the hell? Why is he in Nashville? He can't run from this and just leave everything, us and especially Chance. Now what are we going to do. It was hard enough performing with Chris covering, now we dont have Tim or Chance" Adam yelled "what are we going to tell the family"
Rob was taken aback by Adam's response, he rarely says anything let alone yell. "Whoa, Adam calm down. He has to have a good reason, he wouldn't just run away" he told him.
"Do you blame him, Tim that is. Look at all he's been through with Chance. He's done more than anyone could ever imagine and for what. To get his ass kicked by the man he's trying to help. He'll be back, I know he will. He needs time. He has the worst decision anyone could ever have to make. I dont blame him, plus we have no idea what he's been through" Austin stated.
Adam took a deep breath as he wrapped his arms around his head, leaning forward on his knees. He knew it wasn't easy for Tim. He was stressed they were all stressed. "What are we going to tell the family when we run out of excuses as to why he's not there?"
