Chance pushed himself through the VIP, forcing a smile and joking around with everyone despite the pain in his head and the feeling of guilt. Tim kept a watchful eye on him, especially during photos, ensuring he wouldn't need to walk around. Once they finished, everyone went back stage to wait before the show began.

Tim sat next to Chance as he drank a bottle of water "I know you're hurting, but I just want to discuss what you would like me to tell the fans."

"The truth" Chance answered "they deserve to know the ugly truth."

Austin, Rob and Adam stood nearby. Tim looked up at Adam, asking with his eyes "should I". Adam nodded.

"If that's what you want, I will. But like I said, I refuse to say you're quitting, because you're not. I will only say you are taking time off for medical reasons" Tim stated.

"That's not really telling them anything" Chance replied.

"Until you see the doctor next week, we don't need to say more. Let them absorb the fact something is going on, I'll add we will update them as soon as we know more. Ok?" Tim added.

"We have to contact Chris, and see if he can take over.. indefinitely" Chance reminded him.

Adam looked at them both "what do you mean notify Chris"

"I asked him if he would step in if I ...when I reached the point of being unable to perform anymore. I know I didn't discuss this with you Adam. I'm sorry, I was just trying to save you..all of you..from dealing with more than you already have" Chance answered. "I've also obtained power of attorney for Tim to oversee my affairs and medical care" he added "I wanted to get as much prepared as I could before..." his voice trailing off.

"I understand " Adam replied "I'll talk to Chris".

The sound crew notified them it was time to grab their mics and get set on the stage. Austin and Rob hugged Chance as he began walking towards the door "we love ya brother" they said in unison. "You got this and we're right here with you" Adam told him grabbing extra chapstick. Tim placed his hand on Chance's shoulder "we'll get you through this, all of it" he told him as he saw the tears welling up in his eyes. "I know...I know" was all he could say.

Jenika sat in the audience trying to enjoy the show but her mind kept wondering back to earlier when she came across Chance. Something was wrong, terribly wrong, she could feel it. Even more so now as she noticed Chance did not sing any solos and stayed back behind Tim. As they prepared to take the usual break that would spotlight Adam's beatboxing solo she texted Tim asking if she could still come back stage. Feeling the vibration of the phone as they entered the green room he initially was going to ignore it thinking it was Luke. He then remembered giving Jenika his number. He smiled when he saw her caller ID. He texted back "yes, I think it will be fine". She smiled at his response, remembering for a moment his reaction meeting her at Chance's party.

A few minutes before the end of the show Tim announced there was something that they wanted their fans to hear directly from them instead of some internet gossip later.

"First off we just want to say how grateful we are for your continued love and support. Y'all are what keeps us going even when we face some dark times." A hush came over the crowd as everyone watched and listened intently to Tim.

"You may gave noticed a few things different in tonight's show. Maybe in a few recent shows even. What I'm about to say next ..." he choked back the tears as he glanced over at Chance who stood with his hands in his pockets, looking at the floor..."isn't easy to say. Ummm....one of our beloved members...our brother..is going through some personal, medical issues "

Chance lifted his eyes to Tim and nodded to continue. Tim walked over to Chance, putting his arm around his shoulder. Gasps were heard from the audience as Tim explained Chance would be leaving for an unknown time frame. "We assure you this is only temporary, he will be back with us in no time. Once we have more information as to what is going on, we will update you as soon as we can. Please, don't listen to any gossip, we personally will keep ya'll up to date and will announce soon if there will be any changes in the tour schedule as well. Again we can't emphasize enough how much we love you and all the support you give us."

Chance cleared his throat before lifting his mic " I'm sorry...I hate to disappoint you....but if I can't give you 100%..." his voice became silent as he wiped his eyes..."Y'all deserve so much more...again I'm truly sorry ".

Fans yelled towards the stage "we love you Chance; you got this bro; get better soon." The guys walked over, surrounding him in a group hug before stepping back and singing How Great Thou Art.

Jenika watched as she witnessed the special bond between them, the genuine love of family. Wiping tears from her face she quickly walked out of the concert hall to the outside entrance, trying to compose herself before going backstage.

The guys took one final bow before exiting the stage. Tim advised Nate that they would not be having the signing line tonight, trying to keep Chance from being overwhelmed by well meaning fans. Nate took the  stage, made the announcement and thanked everyone for their understanding.
