Chan staid in Soonyoung's embrace for a bit longer until he asks "Soonyoung...do you like Jihoon?"

Soonyoung pushed Chan away from him, a bit confused as he thought about it himself, he himself was confused on how he thought about Jihoon.

"Soonyoung...Soonyoung?" Chan kept repeating, over and over again to get Soonyoung out of thought.

Soonyoung shook his head, getting out of thought and saying a faint "hm?" Like he didn't hear what Chan had asked the first time.

"I wanted to know if you like Jihoon...at the moment? Like you two seem to be in a fight." Chan asks, curiously.

Soonyoung felt like a heavy weight had just been lifted off of his shoulders as he says "u-um, no why?"

"Because you guys aren't really that close anymore. You didn't even choose each other to be partners in the project. You two are usually together I thought I'd be paired up with the new kid. I've seen the new kid eating lunch with you guys too, he's really close to Jihoon but it looks like they're only talking among themselves and leaving you out" Chan says.

"Well we're not in a fight...and you're...very observant, it's...kinda creepy" Soonyoung says, looking at Chan like he was some sort of stalker.

"I've been eating lunch at the cafeteria table behind you for almost a year now." Chan says in a dull tone, kind of offended that Soonyoung hadn't noticed.

"You eat lunch at the table behind me?!" Soonyoung asks, a bit surprised.

"Yeah, it's the only table that's free when my friends and I get there since it's near the back." Chan explains and Soonyoung felt a little embarrassed for not knowing.

"Wait...you have friends?!" Soonyoung asks, confused.

"Wow you're nice" Chan says sarcastically.

"It's just that I never see you hanging out with anyone in our class, I thought you had no friends."

"Just because I don't talk to people from our class, doesn't mean I don't have friends from other classes. Wow you really think low of me, don't you?" Chan asks in a chuckle.

"No, I really don't!" Soonyoung says, concerned that Chan might take it in the wrong way.

Chan chuckled, seeing Soonyoung so concerned and says "it's alright, I don't care." He then looked up and saw stars starting to appear in the sky and says "I'll see you later, it's really dark now and my mom's probably really worried, bye" Chan says before turning around and walking away.

Soonyoung waved bye as Chan walked away and then looked down, grabbing his chest.

"Even though I took it the wrong way, why did I start freaking out when Chan asked me if I liked Jihoon? I should be thinking about him just as a friend but why does my heart sometimes thump around him. I understand why I'm jealous he's with Seokmin, that's because he's my best friend and he's taking him away from me...but I can't help but feel a different feeling" Soonyoung thought to himself, confused.

As Soonyoung finished walking home, he came home to see a car in the driveway and the lights on.

"Mom's home?!" Soonyoung asks, confused and surprised. Really happy that his mother was home and ran to the the front door to greet her.

As he opened the front door, he had a huge smile on his face and was about to yell 'mom I'm home' until he stopped himself when he saw two men in tux's in his house.

"Who the hell are you two?!" Soonyoung asks, confused and a little frightened.

"Your father sent us, he said your mother got injured badly in another country so-"

The man then got cut off by Soonyoung saying a loud "what, is she okay?!"

"She's fine, she's just in the hospital. Your father sent us to tell you that and said a key would be under the mat if you didn't answer the door."

"Is that all you came to tell me?" Soonyoung asks, still worried.

"We also came to ask you if you wanted to come live with your father in the mean time of your mother being injured. She can't come back for a while so you'll be alone in the house, he says he's not sure if you'll be okay." The man explains.

Soonyoung shook his head meaning no, he never even knew his father was living separately. "Figures since they're probably getting a divorce" Soonyoung thought to himself.

"We'll tell your father that and come back with the response he gives us, alright?" The man asks and Soonyoung nodded meaning okay.

As the two men left the house and drove away, Soonyoung was shocked and didn't know what to say, he didn't know what to think about his mother being seriously injured in another country. "He said it's serious but just how serious?!" Soonyoung thought to himself.

Soonyoung ended up staying up all night thinking about it and came to school on time since he got no sleep but had dark bags under his eyes.

"Soonyoung, did you stay up playing videogames again?" Jihoon chuckles, ruffling Soonyoung's hair.

Soonyoung looked at Jihoon and then turned his head so he couldn't talk to him.

"Are you okay Soonyoung?" Jihoon asks, concerned.

Soonyoung sighed, lifting his head and looking at Jihoon as he says "yeah, I bought a new video game on my way home from school and I wanted to complete the first level before going to bed, but it was way too hard and I ended up staying up all night." Soonyoung says in a tired chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck and giving a fake smile.

"Don't spend all your time on video games, jeez" Jihoon says in a sigh yet smiling at the same time, rubbing Soonyoung's shoulder before walking away to go greet Seokmin good morning.

As Soonyoung watched Jihoon walk away to go say good morning to Seokmin he kissed his teeth and turned his head away from the two of them. His stomach would turn with jealousy and his heart would hurt as well for some unknown reason.

He didn't know himself why he wasn't telling Jihoon about his mother either. He usually always told Jihoon everything personal about his life, he even told him he thought his parents were getting a divorce, but he didn't know why he wasn't telling Jihoon this.

"Maybe I'm getting too far from Jihoon...maybe...I'm being replaced..." Soonyoung thought to himself, depressed and upset.

"Hey Soonyoung, you okay?" Chan asks, coming up to Soonyoung's desk and seeing him upset.

"mm" Soonyoung says, not saying anything in words. He didn't want to tell Chan about it either since he wasn't close to him. He started to feel like he couldn't tell anyone anything anymore.

I think I'm getting a lot of posting done right now so when exams come, I'm not stressing to update and study at the same time, please pray that I pass all my exams this semester, I'm so scared~ anyway thank you for reading this chapter.
