I very rarely do authors notes here but this is just very serious and I want to do my best to keep everyone as safe as possible. So please, please I beg don't just skip past this part. Read it. For your own safety.

The blue whale game has apparently come back, and so it's really important that you do these things:
• turn all accounts on private for the time being, and don't accept any follows unless you are ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE ITS SOMEONE YOU KNOW AND WERE EXPECTING TO REQUEST. DO NOT ACCEPT A REQUEST TO FOLLOW FROM SOMEONE YOU DONT KNOW.
•close dms if possible, and if someone tries to dm you, block them. If the message they send includes something about playing a game, report them immediately. DO NOT ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH THEM I REPEAT DO NOT REPLY TO THEM CAN I MAKE THIS ANY MORE CLEAR. Please please please I'm begging you stay safe. Stay off social media as much as you can, and don't engage in conversation with someone you don't know, even if you think you might know them but aren't 100% sure, don't start a conversation. Don't do it. It's not worth it. If you even reply to them they can find out information about you and you will be in serious danger.

I know it's scary stuff and I mean for all I know maybe this is just fear mongering and it's not actually coming back but better safe than sorry. Please just stay safe.

And forever in the future, if you ever get a message like that from someone you don't know, block and report. It's as simple as that. As great as technology can be, it gives lots of bad people lots of power. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to stay safe online. If you get into any trouble, blue whale game or whatever, it please don't be afraid to contact the necessary authorities. They will be able to keep you safe.
