Chapter Five
Klaus' P.O.V.
The next morning, the alarm clock rang close to my ear immediately waking me from my deep sleep. The sound of Beatrice crying soon followed as I struggled to turn off the clock without my glasses.
"I got it," Violet said groggily walking over to the cradle. As I adjusted to my surroundings, I saw small amounts of sunlight peeking through the blinds and I saw Y/n was still sleeping peacefully with her beautiful h/c hair spread around her pillow.
She looked like an angel, and I didn't want to wake her up. I carefully leaned in close to her ear, moving a small piece of her hair to the side. "Y/n, it's time to wake up," I whispered.
She let out a small groan, and turned to face me slowly opening those beautiful e/c eyes. "Good morning," she said sleepily. I gave her a small smile and moved a piece of hair that was in her face.
"Did you sleep well?" I asked. She nodded, and she sat up in the bed rubbing her tired eyes. "We should probably get going soon I need to be at the library by 8," I said taking Y/n's hand and helping her to her feet.
"Will we be able to eat before we go?" she asked. On cue, our stomachs began to grumble like angry volcanos. "Yeah, but we'll have to make it quick," We carefully crept out of the room hoping to not wake up my sisters and Beatrice who fell back asleep after calming Beatrice down.
When we entered the kitchen Y/n and I looked in the fridge and found a few uneaten muffins from a few days ago. They were delicious chocolate chip muffins, Sunny had made them on a rainy day before Violet went to work at the general store.
"We can eat these on the way to the library," I said as I handed her one of the muffins. As we made our way to the library, y/n and I carefully picked at the wrappers of our muffins. "So are we walking to the library, or are we taking the trolley?" Y/n asked.
"It's not that far, I usually walk there," I answered sinking my teeth into my muffin. By the time we had reached the library Y/n and I had finished off the last pieces of our muffins.
The door of the library was a large door made out of dark wood; I reached into my pocket and pulled out the key to the library and unlocked the door. Y/n and I entered the library and I could see that Y/n was in awe of how many books the library contained.
Rows and rows of bookshelves filled the walls with dozens of chairs and tables all over the library. "It's beautiful," she whispered. "So, what kind of books are you into?" I asked bringing her out of shock.
"I like romance novels, I don't have any particular author I like," she answered. I worked at the library for almost a year, and I knew the library like the back of my hand. As I led her down the romance section, I couldn't stop looking at her.
I can't stare at her forever, just talk about Shakespeare. "Some of Shakespeare's finest work lives in this section, one of my personal favorites is Romeo and Juliet," I said as I carefully pulled out a lavender purple book with the same name.
"I have heard of this book, my mother used to talk about it all the time, But I heard that it's difficult to read," she smiled. "That's because it's written in Old English if you're interested in this book, I can read it to you back at the cottage, whenever we have time to ourselves," I offered.
Y/n looked at the book for a moment, and then back at me. "Okay, I'd like to read this one," she answered. I led her over to the librarian desk and signed out the book. "Okay, and we have three weeks to read this book," I said with a final stroke of the pen.
Then, the doors of the library opened and saw that it was Demarcus, my boss, who entered. He slowly walked over to the librarian's desk. "Good morning Demarcus, how do you do?" I asked politely.
He let out a small cough reminding me of Mr. Poe and his constant fits of coughing. "I'm doing well Klaus, thank you," he sputtered. "But, may I ask who is this girl and what is she doing here before the Library officially opens?"
"I'm Y/n L/n, I'm here with Klaus, he just finished giving me a tour of the library," she half lied. She extended her hand out to Demarcus and he shook it without hesitation.
"Okay, let's get towork Klaus, I need your help reorganizing one of the shelves in the sciencebook section,"
