Chapter 9 Bexie Wake Up
When they got to Eddie's place, Eddie got out of the van and hurried around to the passenger side and opened the door for Bex.
"Milady." He smirked and held out his hand.
Bex smiled and took his hand and he brought her hand to his lips and kissed it before helping her out of the van.
Bex couldn't help but think, if most girls knew how Eddie treated women with such respect he would have been off the market ages ago. But no one could look past the freak label. Not that Bex was complaining, Eddie was her best kept secret and she had him all to herself.
Once on the porch Eddie put his arm around Bex and kissed her on the cheek before opening the door. Wayne was sitting in the living room chair putting his boots on.
"I thought you were off tonight." Eddie said.
"Well, I was but there was a call in, so I have to go in." Wayne said and then looked up at Eddie and Bex.
He raised an eyebrow
"Who's this Ed?" Wayne asked.
"Rebecca Carver." Bex said and extended her hand.
Wayne took her hand and shook it.
"I'm Eddie's math tutor....and girlfriend." Bex smiled.
Wayne looked at Eddie and then back to Bex.
"Let me get this straight. You're Charles' Carver's kid. The Charles Carver that owns half of the town and you...are Eddie's girlfriend. My Eddie?" Wayne asked.
"Try not to sound so surprised Wayne." Eddie chuckled.
"I'm guessing your parents have no idea." Wayne said.
"You'd be correct." Bex said. "I plan to keep it that way for a while."
"As long as you two stay out of trouble I don't have a problem with it." Wayne said. "But you'll need to tell them eventually if you two are going to make this work."
"I will. Eventually." Bex nodded.
"I've got to go, I'll have to pick up groceries tomorrow morning but I put some money on the table for pizza." Wayne said
"Thanks Wayne." Eddie said as Wayne was leaving. Wayne turned around to face them again.
"I mean it Ed. Stay out of trouble." He said.
"Of course." Eddie said with a mischievous smile. Wayne just shook his head and sighed as he left the house.
"So what do you wanna do?" Bex asked.
Eddie walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge and pulled out a 6 pack of beers. He walked back into the living room and grinned.
"Get in trouble." Eddie said.
"Sounds good." Bex said with a grin. "I'll order the pizza."
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bex and Eddie were already two beers in when the Pizza got there, Eddie had his music turned up pretty loud and the two of them were dancing around the living room without a care in the world.
When Bang Your Head (Metal Health) came on Bex instantly recognized it because it was one of the songs that Eddies Band Corroded Coffin covered at their show.
"I Know this one!" Bex said excitedly. "Your band played it last night!"
"Rebecca Carver, I never knew you were such a metal head." Eddie smirked and spun her around.
"I was never allowed to listen to this music, but it's so good!" Bex exclaimed.
"Hell yeah it is." Eddie chuckled.
"But if I'm being honest, I liked your version better." Bex smiled as they slowed down their dancing for a moment.
"Yeah?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah." Bex smiled and looked at the box of Pizza that had gone untouched. She picked up a slice and took a bite.
"God I fucking love Pizza." She said.
Eddie laughed.
"It's good isn't it?" Bex asked turned her slice towards him so he could take a bite.
Eddie took a bite and nodded.
"The flavor profile of the roasted tomato sauce, and the fresh mozzarella cheese is remarkable, then they add the peperoni for an extra zing." Eddie said.
Bex cracked up laughing.
"What??" She asked and took a sip of her third beer.
"I meant it's good shit." Eddie laughed as Bex sprayed her beer out of her mouth to avoid choking as she erupted with laughter.
Eddie loved watching Bex laugh, she was usually so uptight at school and seeing her let go and just be... he felt lucky to be able to see this side of Bex because he knew she likely didn't show it to anyone else.
"So I know that your mom is very strangely obsessed with your diet, but I'm about to show you the greatest diet hack of the century." Eddie said and took two slices of pizza from the box and stacked one on top of the other.
"If you stack two slices of pizza like this, It only counts as one slice." He said and took a bite.
"Well I'll be damned!" Bex said and took two slices from the box and added it to the top of the slice she already had and took a bite.
Eddie pretended like he was offended.
"Ma'am I'm going to need you to calm down. You're getting a little too wild for me."
"You haven't seen anything yet, Munson." Bex grinned with a mischievous gleam in her eyes that nearly took Eddie's breath away.
There was a sudden loud knock on the door that had him and Bex looking to the door wide eyed.
"What if its Jason?" Bex asked.
The knock was louder this time.
"Come on Munson I know you're in there." Hopper shouted from outside.
"It's just Hopper!" Bex sighed in relief as Eddie walked over to the door and opened.
"What can I do for you tonight Hop?" Eddie grinned as Hopper walked in.
"I got a noise complaint. Turn your music down Ed. I don't want to come back out here." Hopper sighed and then looked at Bex who was hopelessly standing in front of the empty beer bottles on the coffee table trying to hide them.
"Rebecca." He nodded.
"Hop." Bex nodded back at him.
"Your parents know you're here?" Hopper asked.
"No." Bex replied.
Hopper shrugged.
"Probably for the best. Just get home before curfew so I don't have to answer that call." Hopper said and looked around her at the beer bottles and sighed.
"Put the rest of Wayne's beer back in the fridge and turn down the music Munson. That's your warning." He said and looked at Bex.
"You're a good kid Rebecca. Make good choices." He added and then left.
Eddie turned the music down just a bit but picked up his beer and drank the rest of it. Bex picked up hers and chugged the rest.
"Oh no, there's no beer left to put in the fridge." Bex said and gave Eddie a goofy grin.
Eddie gasped.
"Now that is certainly not making good choices Rebecca." Eddie said and tsked at her.
Bex smirked and walked over to him and kissed him.
"Now, that was a good choice." Bex said.
"Hell yeah it was." Eddie smiled and pulled her too him by her waist and planted his lips on hers.
If someone had told Rebecca Carver last week that she would be making out with Eddie Munson in his trailer cutting it extremely close to curfew, she probably would have laughed in their face.
But here she was faced with a feeling she hadn't quite felt before. Not with the boy she fell in love with in 8tth grade only to have him move away, and surely not Luke. There was a desire. A want. An unfamiliar ache.
Bex pulled away and looked at Eddie with her pupils blown, her eyes almost looked pure black.
Eddie tilted his head with an adorable curious look, completely unprepared to be pushed backwards onto the couch.
"Jesus Christ!" Eddie exclaimed as Bex placed herself on his lap. Tugging him up by the collar of his shirt and planting her lips on his again.
"Holy shit." Eddie gasped as Bex ran her hands up his shirt while kissing up his neck. Gone was the sweet little cheerleader, Bex has taken on a new form so to speak and he would kill to roll a perception check at this very moment. Bex moved her hands down to his belt.
Eddie placed his hands over hers
"Whoa whoa! Bexasaurus slow down." Eddie said.
"Why?" Bex grinned and bit her lip.
"Because, I can't do this. You're a little drunk and I feel like I'd be taking advantage of you."
Eddie noticed how Bex kind of frowned.
"Listen, it's not that I don't want to. God when you threw me on the couch and climbed me like a tree I about lost my fucking mind." Eddie grinned.
Bex blushed and smiled a little.
"Sorry I don't know what came over me." She said.
"I thought you were about to be projectile vomiting pea soup everywhere." Eddie chuckled.
"Rude." Bex said but giggled anyways.
"Look,I'm okay to drive. It takes a lot more than three beers to take this guy down. Let me take you home."
"Okay." Bex smiled and got off of Eddies lap. "Hey.." She said.
"Yeah?" Eddie asked.
"Luke... he never would have done what you did just now. God forbid if this ever happened with him He would continue. He wouldn't stop me."
"Well hes a dick." Eddie said.
"Hes just a stupid boy. But you...everything about you is different. Everything about you is Good."
"Try telling that to the rest of the town." Eddie said.
"I don't care what the rest of the town thinks of you Eddie because I know who you actually are. And my brother and his shitty little friends are going to stop torturing you and your friends and I promise you that."
"Bex, there are always going to be people like me, and people like your brother. You can't put that on your shoulders to fix. If your brother were half as intelligent and kind as you it wouldn't be a problem but that doesn't make it your problem to fix. It's his."
"I just don't think it's fair." Bex sighed.
"It's not. But it's how it is." Eddie smiled and shrugged. "Come on, lets get you home." Eddie said and kissed her on the cheek.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Bex walked into her house, her father was sitting in his recliner waiting for her.
"Where have you been?" He asked.
"Tutoring ran late." Bex shrugged. "If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Jason, he refused to bring me home."
"He told us you refused to get in the truck."
Bex scoffed.
"And I'm sure you believe him over me. Whatever. I'm tired, I'm going to bed." Bex said.
"Can you blame me with how your behavior has been Rebecca?" Her father asked.
Bex just shook her head.
"Night." She said and walked up the stairs.
When Bex opened her bedroom door Blaire was sitting on her bed.
"Do you have any idea what time it is, young lady?" Blaire smirked.
Bex chuckled.
"What brings you to my room?"
"I just got home a couple hours ago and I was putting your shopping bags in your room and I was bored so I was just looking at your stuff." Blaire shrugged. "So where have you been?" She asked.
"I was at Eddie's." Bex smiled. "We had a few beers and some pizza."
"Thats it?" Blaire smirked.
"Well...no." Bex said and bit her lip. "We were kissing and something just came over me and I pushed him down on the couch and just..like attacked him. He stopped me before I went too far."
"That's Eddie for you. Considering you two were drinking he probably didn't want to take advantage of you." Blaire said.
"That's what he said. I just don't know what came over me." Bex sighed and walked into her walk in closet to find some PJs.
"You got horny." Blaire shrugged. Bex came out of her closet to look at Blaire and scrunched up her nose
"When you put it that way it sounds terrible." Bex said and walked back in to change her clothes.
"But it's the truth." Blaire laughed
Bex walked out of the closet after changing and flopped down on her bed and sighed dramatically.
"It was like I was possessed." She said.
Blaire flopped down beside her. "Bex got horny." She said in a sing-song tone.
Bex picked up one of her pillows and threw it at Blaire making Blaire laugh so hard she snorted, which then made Bex start laughing.
The bedroom door opened and they both sat up.
"You two have school in the morning, get some sleep." Bex's mother said.
"Okay mom." Bex said and her mother closed the door.
"You wanna sleep in here tonight?" Bex asked.
"Sure what the hell." Blaire said.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bex was giddy as she looked at herself in her door mirror. She wore a black denim skirt, and a black and white striped shirt that showed her belly. She wore a pair of black boots that Blaire gave her and her long blonde hair was down and flowing around her shoulders.
Blaire helped her with her makeup, because she wasn't used to using darker colors, but Blaire did a fantastic job.
She knew her father was going to go ballistic on her when he saw what she was wearing, but she didn't care. He thought her old clothes, which had always been modest except for the cheer uniform, were too revealing, and walking around like that was just asking for something bad to happen to her. Bex always hated that about her father and now he would see what revealing clothes looked like.
Bex grabbed her backpack, and walked out of her room and down the stairs. Jason was at the bottom of the stairs ready to leave.
"You're joking right?" Jason asked.
"No. I'm not." Bex shrugged and walked into the kitchen.
"Rebecca Noelle Carver. What are you wearing?!" Her father demanded.
"Clothes." Bex said and grabbed a piece of toast and scooped some scrambled eggs onto it and a couple strips of bacon and folded it and took a bite.
"You can not go to school looking like that. What do you think people with think of us?"
"I really could care less what people think about me." Bex said
"Think about how you dressing like that is going to reflect on us as a family.." Her mother sighed.
"I could care less about that too." Bex said.
"People are going to think we are terrible parents!" Her mother exclaimed.
That would be because you are terrible parents. Bex thought to herself.
"Hey we have to go or we will be late." Blaire said.
"Alright let's go." Bex smiled.
"You are not going anywhere dressed like that." Her father said. "I will not have my daughter going around looking like a street walker." He spat.
Rebecca glared at him.
"Don't you look at me like that." Her father said.
"Lets go Blaire." Bex said and turned around and started walking out with Blaire.
"Rebecca! Do not walk away from me!" Her father shouted as they walked outside.
"I don't know if it means anything but I think you look cool." Blaire said.
"You think so? Its not too much?" Bex asked.
"Hell no. And I don't think you look like a street walker either. Your Dad is just pissed because hes starting to realize he can't control you anymore. If you like what you are wearing, and you are comfortable, that's all that should matter." Blaire shrugged.
"Thank you." Bex smiled.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bex and Blaire got to school the same time as Jason. Jason scoffed as he met them at the entrance.
"This was your idea wasn't it?" He accused Blaire.
"No, Jason it wasn't. I bought all the clothes myself." Bex said.
"You mean Dad bought them." Jason said.
"Just like Dad buys your beer for your stupid parties, and how he paid for your truck. Don't go there with me J." Bex rolled her eyes.
"I just can't believe you are going to parade around school looking like that. You're starting to look like one of them." Jason said.
"Good." Bex smiled and looked at her watch. "Oh shoot, it's time to tarnish my family's name and image."
"Atta girl." Blaire chuckled as they walked into the school.
"Don't encourage her. This, it's just a phase. Bex will wake up one day and realize how stupid all of this is." Jason said as he followed them in.
"Do you even realize how stupid you sound right now?" Blaire laughed.
"Wow, Bex, I like the new look."
Bex looked over and smiled at Mike Wheeler.
"Thanks Mike." She said.
"Sure." Mike said and gave her a harmless little grin.
Jason glared at Mike and backed him into the wall.
"Don't look at my sister freak." He spat.
"Jason!" Bex said and tried to pull him away from Mike. "Leave him alone!"
"I got this." Blaire said and Bex stepped away. Blaire put herself between Jason and Mike and shoved him away from Mike.
"You want to pick on someone smaller than you? Pick on me, I fucking dare you." Blaire said and shoved him again.
"Come on. Pick on me." She said. "I beat the snot out of guys like you for fun." Blaire said and shoved him again.
"What is going on over here??" Mr. Jones asked.
Bex looked at him, she distinctly thought Eddie had told her he was off all week, which she was banking on because she didn't do any of the math homework she had gotten from Eddie.
"Sir shitstain here was picking on Mike. So I stepped in." Mr. Jones turned his glare to Mike, who nodded.
"That's what happened." He confirmed.
Mr. Jones sighed as if he was just done with teenagers at this point.
"The only reason Im not giving you Detention Mr. Carver is because I'm the unlucky soul who got stuck monitoring detention tonight and I just don't care to look at you for an extra 45 minutes."
Bex chuckled and then Mr. Jones turned to her and Blaire.
"Miss Carver, being someone who is currently wearing at least 3 dress code violations this morning I wouldn't be laughing." He said and turned to Blaire.
"Next time, come get a staff member to handle the issue."
Blaire saluted him.
"Now all of you get to class." Mr. Jones barked. Everyone else started walking to class but Bex stayed behind.
"Eddie told me at our tutoring session last night that you weren't going to be here the rest of the week." Bex said.
"Well plans changed not that its any of your business." Mr. Jones replied.
Bex was taken aback. She was one of the few students that Mr. Jones was actually decent too. He looked very stressed, annoyed.
"What are you gawking at? Get to Class!" Mr. Jones barked at her.
"Okay, sorry." Bex sighed and walked away from him.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of Bex's favorite things about school was working on the yearbook, she loved getting to go to events and take photos and at this moment, they were assigning different students to go to different school club meetings and take pictures. Bex looked at the list in her hand and frowned.
"Why is the Hellfire Club not included?" She asked.
The room fell silent.
"I mean seriously, they are a school club and they should be included in the yearbook."
"Because no one wants to go and take pictures of that band of freaks." One of the other cheerleaders, Chelsea boldly stated. "The whole bunch of them are creepy and word is, they worship satan."
Bex shook her head. "Jesus.. They play Dungeons and Dragons! They aren't a satanic cult and if you think they are you are an idiot." She said.
People started arguing back and forth and Chrissy stood up.
"Come on guys enough." She sighed. "As head of the yearbook committee this year, I agree with Bex. Bottom line, no matter what any of us think, The Hellfire club is a school club and they should be included. Bex will take the pictures this friday."
"You know Coach is going to lose her mind if Bex isn't cheering with us at the game this friday." Chelsea said.
"I will explain the situation." Chrissy said.
"Thank you Chris." Bex smiled.
"I still think its a terrible idea. The yearbook is for things that we actually care about." Chelsea said.
"The yearbook is for everybody!" Bex argued. "Not just what we feel like including."
"I'm just saying don't come crying to me if they make you their virgin sacrifice." Chelsea scoffed.
Bex just rolled her eyes.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By lunch time, Bex wasn't feeling too good, she had a headache, and she felt like she was losing focus. She was nauseous and just didn't feel like her usual self. Her usual favorite lunch food which was the chicken sandwich didn't appear as appetizing as she would have hoped and she kind of just picked at it.
"Rebecca are you okay?" Jason asked.
"Like you even care." Bex mumbled.
"I do care Bex, you don't look well." Jason said.
"It's just a headache Jason. I'm fine."
"You and I both know your headaches usually aren't just headaches." Jason said.
"J I said I was fine just drop it." Bex grumbled and massaged her temples. "If it makes you feel better I'll go get some medication from the nurse." Bex stood up leaving her tray at the table and made her way out of the cafeteria and to the school nurses office."
Bex walked into the nurses office.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey sweetpea." The nurse looked up from her book that she was reading and smiled at Bex, though her smile quickly turned into a frown when she saw how Bex looked.
"Sit down." She said and ushered her to a chair. "What's going on?"
"I just have a really bad headache is all." Bex said.
"You look exhausted, Did you sleep last night?" The nurse asked.
"Yes, I did." Bex said.
"Any muscle numbness or weakness? What about muscle spasms?" The Nurse asked.
"No, Its just a headache." Bex said. Bex knew she was going through seizure questions and she hadn't had a seizure in a couple years so she was adamant that it was just a headache.
"Alright." The nurse said. "I'll give you some tylenol but if you start feeling any worse you come see me." She said sternly.
"I will." Bex nodded and took the two tylenol the nurse handed her and washed it down with the small cup of water the nurse also gave her. She stood up and walked out of the nurses office.
Bex was making her way back towards the cafeteria when she heard someone whistle. She looked to her left and smiled at Eddie who was peeking out from the hallway. She looked around making sure no one was looking and walked over to him.
"Hi." He smiled.
"Hey." Bex smiled and bit her lip.
"You alright? I saw you come out of the nurses office." Eddie said
"Yeah I'm fine. Just a headache." Bex said and stood on her toes to give him a kiss.
"Now I'm all better." She winked at him.
Eddie smirked and leaned in, pushing her back against the wall as he kissed her. He pulled back.
"By the way, I really like the new look." He said and twirled her blonde locks around his finger.
"Do you?" Bex asked.
"I do. It suits you." Eddie said.
"Thank you." Bex said. Oh! You wouldn't mind me intruding on your Hellfire Club session tomorrow would you?"
Eddie gave her a sly smile.
"Interested are you?" He asked.
"Yes, I am, but also I need to take photos for yearbook."
"They're actually giving us a page in the Yearbook this year?" Eddie asked.
"Yes. I made sure of it." Bex grinned. "Well, Chrissy being the head of the yearbook committee this year did help." Bex admitted.
"You are amazing Rebecca Carver. Don't ever change." Eddie smiled.
"I wasn't planing on it." Bex grinned at him and Eddie leaned in to kiss her. Bex of course welcomed him by tangling her hand in his hair deepening the kiss until she felt a sudden sharp pain in her head and she pulled away rubbing her temples.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Eddie asked and put his thumb on her chin tilting her head up so he could get a better look at her face
"Yeah, like I said just a headache. The tylenol that the nurse gave me should kick in in about 20 minutes." Bex shrugged.
Eddie gave her a skeptical look but nodded.
The bell rang signaling the end of lunch period. Eddie kissed her on the cheek.
"See you in Algebra." He smiled and hurried off before anyone saw him with Bex.
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bex had so far made it to the end of the day, however her headache was still bothering her and she still didn't feel quite right. Mr Jones walked into the classroom as everyone was settling in their seats.
"Alright, you all know the drill, homework assignments out." Mr. Jones said as he stood at the front of the class.
Bex raised her hand.
"Yes Miss Carver?" Mr. Jones asked.
"I..didn't do the homework last night. I'm-"
Mr. Jones stopped her there.
"No homework? You can do yesterdays homework and todays in detention."
Bex sighed. "But-"
"I don't need your excuses Rebecca." Mr. Jones said.
"Come on man I forgot to give her the assignment." Eddie said, it was a lie but if it got Bex out of detention She was cool with it.
"You can join Bex in detention tonight for that outburst" Mr. Jones said.
Well at least she wouldn't be alone.
When class was over, Bex and Eddie stayed in their seats, and Bex was beginning to feel miserable and that she might have to go back to the nurse.
She raised her hand.
"Miss Carver, I don't care what the excuse is, you will be serving detention and that is final." Mr. Jones said. "I have to go to the lounge for a moment. No talking, just working. Am I making myself clear?" Mr. Jones asked.
"Crystal." Eddie groaned and watched as Mr. Jones left the room.
"How long do you think we have before he comes back?" Eddie asked. Bex didn't answer him.
"Bex?" Eddie asked. Still no response. Eddie stood up and walked over to the front of Bex's desk.
Her eyes were glassy and distant and she was making a strange grunting sound.
Eddie waved his hand in front of her face.
"Hello?" He asked. "Bex. This isn't funny." Eddie said.
"Wake up Bex!" He shouted.
Mr. Jones entered the room.
"Mr. Munson I can hear you yelling from down the hallway. What do you think you are doing?" He seethed.
"Something's wrong with Bex!" Eddie panicked.
Mr. Jones hurried to where he was standing.
"Rebecca can you hear me?" He asked and snapped his fingers in her face.
"Mr. Munson go get the nurse." Mr. Jones said and walked around to the side of the desk just in time to catch Bex as she slumped over and fell from her desk. She started having full on convulsions. .
"Jesus Christ!" Eddie shouted and backed up as Mr. Jones sat down on the floor and held Bex to keep her from smacking her head on the floor.
"Mr. Munson go get the Nurse!" Mr. Jones barked at him. Eddie didn't want to leave her but He knew in order to help her he would have to. Eddie ran out of the classroom hoping with all he had that Bex was going to be okay.
