Learning about Klaus

"Why don't you fall for me like I fell for you?"

I gasped and jumped back, my back colliding with the big pile of dirt as Elijah sprung to life, his face still a little veiny and grey. I crawled towards him even though I knew it was a bad idea. "Elijah?"

"Katerina." He spoke, looking directly at Elena which made the both of us shake our heads. He bent his back, gasping for breath, cracking noises could be heard. "I can't-- I can't breathe! What's happening to me?" He rushes over the door but stammered into the door. I rushed forward and held him, my eyebrows creased together until the pieces started to come together. "I can't... I can't be in this house."

"You're not invited in."

"I can't be in here." He stammered into another wall and disappeared. I looked at Elena and we both ran after him. We areived at the front door and before Elena could fully go outside, I pulled her back in and looked at Elijah who tried to enter, looking angry.

"What happened?"

"Shh!" I hissed, pointing to my ear then upstairs. "We'll tell you. Not here." I took a step forward and looked him right in the eyes. "Can I trust you?"

"Can I trust you?" He whispered back. I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose before I held out my hand to Elena, not looking back at her. I felt her lay the dagger in my hand and I held it out to Elijah. I flipped it over so the handle was facing him and he took it, giving me a look as he did so.

🔅🔅🔅

I pulled my beloved jeep to a stop and looked to Elijah who sat in the passenger side. I glanced back at Elena who say in the back, a look of caution on her face. I scrunched up my nose as the smell of iron reached my nose. "Even though the thought of drinking blood is disgusting, you do look better."

"Where did you get the dagger?" Elijah questioned us, giving me a look which made me shrug.

"I was out if town when they decided to dagger you." I have him a small smile. "And if I were here, I would've stopped them from doing the one dumb thing that could save Elena's life." I spoke truthfully.

"I'll tell you everything. But we have to work together, Elijah. I need your word." Elena told Elena firmly which made me snort.

"You think after daggering him, he would just easily be on our side?" I shook my head at my cousin. "If I were him, I would've either a) never speak to you again or b) get revenge." I then looked Elijah in the eyes. "But here's the thing about this whole undaggering thing, we want to help you, and we want you to help us. That's all. It's as simple as that."

"And why should I even consider this?" He asked me, an amused look on his face.

"The same reason that you haven't killed us." Elena thought it was a good idea to speak up this time. "You need my help to kill Klaus. And we need you." I grimaced, my heart clenching and my brain gears turning. Why do I feel so bad when someone mentions killing Klaus? And why do I always get s fuzzy feeling in my chest when I see or hear his name? Elena's phone rung, interrupting my inner thoughts. "Yes, we're fine." She nodded before looking at Elijah. "He's right here." There was a pause. No, Stefan, Elijah, Spencer and I need some time alone." I smirked. Threesome. "Elijah is a noble man, Stefan. He lives by a code of honor. I can trust him. He knows that I'd be incredibly stupid to betray him again. By removing the dagger, Spencer and I have proven ourselves." I looked down at my hands, them shaking a little. I clenched my hands into fists and sighed. Why did I have to take those pills? "It's my decision, Stefan. Please respect it. And make sure that Damon doesn't do anything stupid. We'll be in touch." She hung up and gave Elijag her phone.

🔅🔅🔅

"He's here." I blurted out, gettin tired of the awkward, tense nature around us.

"Klaus is here?" Elijah asked me in shock, his eyebrows raised and eyed wide. I nodded, entwining my hands together.

"He's taken over Alaric's body." Elena informed the suit wearing Original who looked like death.

"Of course he has." Elijah mused in annoyance. "One of his favorite tricks."

"Well, what are his other tricks? What is he going to do next?" Elena sputtered out questions, her eyes trained on Elijah. "You're the only one who knows him."

"Yes, I do."

🔅🔅🔅

Elijah knocked on the door to the Lockwood's; Carol opening it. "Elijah, Elena! What are you doing here? What happened?

"I've had a bit of an incident, Carol." I snickered quietly, a smirk on my face as he glanced back at us. "I'm hoping you could help."

"Well, I'm on my way to a meeting, so I—"

"We won't take but a minute of your time." Elijah compelled her which made her simply smile.

"Of course. Anything you need."

"Thank you." We walked through the door and I did s double take. Everything was so... fancy looking. "Well, first things first. I'm going to need a change of clothing." I looked back at Elijah who was standing by Carol.

"Well, we can try one of my husband's suits. I haven't boxed them up yet."

"Wonderful." Elijah remarked and we watched as she went up the stairs.

"How did you know she's not on vervain?" I questioned, my eyes wide. If I remember correctly, why I do, then I knew for a fact that she was always on vervain.

"'Cause I'm the one who got her off it. Right before you and your friends killed me." I blinked. "Twice." I bit my lip sheepishly. "If you'll excuse me. I'll be done in a moment." He left us and went up the stairs.

I sat on the couch, my feet tucked underneath me, chewing on my finger nails as I waited for Elijah who walked into the living room, wearing a suit, like usual. I nodded at him, my eyes raking his body. He does look might fine in a suit. "So..." I trailed off, clearing my throat as I was caught checking him out.

"So I assume that the Martin witches are no longer with us." Elijah spoke, smoothing down the suit as he sat down across from Elena and I, picking up a slightly chipped tea cup.

"No. I'm sorry." Elena spoke which made me choke on my saliva.

"Wait. What?" I sputtered out, confused. "Who are the Martin Witches and what happened to them?" Elena gave me a look, practically telling me that she will explain everything later. I nodded and turned to look back at Elijah.

"And Katerina? She would have been released from my compulsion when I died." I nodded my head at Elijah, my face scrunching up at the thought of Katherine.

"Klaus took her. We think that she may be dead." Elena told him which made me clear my throat loudly and obnoxiously, gaining their attention.

"I don't think she's dead." Elijah raised his eyebrows at me. "If I were Klaus and I had been chasing someone for 500 years, I think I would at least torture them a little bit. You know, it would kinda put them out of their misery if I were just to kill them." I fumbled with my hands, seeing Elena's wide eyed look. But Elijah? He looked amused.

Elijah stared at Spencer, his lips twitching up slightly. She and Klaus were so much alike and he could see it now, they are going to be great together. "Spencer's right. Not Klaus' style. Death would be too easy for her after what she did."

"I don't understand. You say that you want Klaus dead, but you still made Katherine pay for betraying him." Elena spoke, eyebrows furrowed. I nodded along with her train of thought.

"I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay." He paused, glancing back and forth from me to Elena. "There was a time... I'd have done anything for Klaus." He started telling us about a past event but one thing stuck out. Klaus was his brother. Elijah is the brother of the man my mind seem to not stop thinking about. What is it about Klaus that has my mind reeling? "Yes. Klaus is my brother." He gave us an amused smile as both Elena and I sat there, shocked. Brothers. Brothers? Why would he want to kill his brother. I mean, I understand that Klaus likes to kill but to me, he just seems... lonely. And a bit paranoid. But I would too especially if I were to live a long life where you gain both friends and enemies. There's never a 100% of people liking you. Not everyone is bound to like someone else. That's just how it is. I just say screw it. If they don't like me, then they can go wait in the waiting room and wait for me to give a fuck.

"I heard that. I'm still processing." Elena muttered, licking her lips.

"Yes, I'm a little behind on the times, but I believe the term you're searching for is–" Elijah rose the tea cup to his lips. "O.M.G." I smiled amusedly. He is so cute.

🔅🔅🔅

"There's a whole family of Originals?"

"My father was a wealthy land owner in a village in Eastern Europe. Our mother bore seven children Elena." I whispered loudly and made a face. Seven children? Damn. She and the father must've never stopped fonduing.

"So your parents were human?"

"Our whole family was." Elijah answered simply. "Our origin as vampires is a very long story, Just know... We're the oldest vampires in the world. We are the Original family, and from us all, vampires were created."

"That's... awesome." I mumbled to myself. "But here's the thing i'm confused about. Klaus. He's your brother, right?" Elijah nodded at me. "You want to kill your brother?" Instead of answering me, he stood up and held out both of his hands to Elena and I.

"I need some air. I'm still feeling a tad... dead." I snickered lightly at the irony. "Come."

🔅🔅🔅

"So as you've seen, nothing can kill an Original." Elijah informed us as we walked around in the huge back yard of the Lockwood's house. "Not Sun, not fire, not even a werewolf bite. Only the wood from one tree. A tree my family made sure burned."

"That's where the white ash for the dagger comes from." I realized angrily. Damon was being stupid when he accepted that dagger from John.

"Yes." Elijah nodded. "The witches won't allow anything truly immortal to walk the earth. Every creature needs to have a weakness in order to maintain the balance."

"So the Sun can't kill an Original." Elena nodded, biting her lip. "Why is Klaus so obsessed with breaking the Sun and Moon curse?"

"Right. The curse of the Sun and the Moon. It's all so... Biblical-sounding, don't you think?" He smiled at us and I narrowed my eyes, suspicious. Why was he smiling?

"What's so funny?" He started telling us about another past event. "I don't understand. So Klaus drew the Aztec sketches about the curse?"

"Roman scrolls, African tribal etchings, and any other culture or continent we felt like planting in it."

"But why?"

"Easiest way to discover the existence of a doppelganger or to get your hands on some long, lost moon stone is to have every single member of two warring species on the lookout." I made a 'uh' sound as I thought about the way he was wording things.

"So it's not Aztec at all? Is it?" I questioned, the gears turning in my head. The puzzle pieces were slowly coming together. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at Elijah. "It's fake, isn't it?" I nodded to myself, not giving Elijah time to speak. "It is. That's the only logical answer. The sun and the moon curse; it's fake."

He nodded at me, seemingly impressed. "Klaus and I faked the Sun and Moon curse dating back over a thousand years."

"But if there's no curse..."

"There's a curse. Just not that one. The real one's much worse. It's a curse placed on Klaus." My heart ached for Klaus. He had a curse put on him and his own brother wants to kill him. I don't know what I would do if my own twin brother tried to kill me.

"What are you talking about?"

"Klaus has been trying to break it for the last thousand years." He paused, his eyes glancing from me but was firmly put on Elena. "You are his only hope."

"What is this curse?" I questioned, curiosity getting the better of me.

"Your phone will not stop its incessant buzzing." He told Elena, annoyed. "Answer it, please." He gave her the phone and telling by her face, it was Stefan. You know, I can already tell, it's gonna be his fault if my cousin dies.

"Stefan... what's wrong?" I perked up, trying to her what was being said. "No. No, no, no, no. Ok, I'll be right there." She hung up and looked at me with fear in her eyes. "Klaus went after Jenna." My eyes widened in horror and shock. "I have to go to her." I gave Elena a look. "We have to go to her."

"I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement."

"She's family." I reminded him. "As you can see, I – we don't have much of that nowadays. Now, you'll sit here and wait until we return." I told him sternly, crossing my arms. "You have MY word since I know you won't believe Elena." I gave Elena a look.

"That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it."

"Thank you." I smiled, grabbed Elena's hand and ran towards where we left my car.

🔅🔅🔅

"Oh, Jenna, thank God." Both Elena and I rushed towards Jenna who was sitting on the couch, tears in her eyes.,

"No." She backed away from us which made a piece of my heart break. Just the look in her eyes. Betrayal and pure hurt. We hurt her. I hurt her.

"I'm so sorry." Elena whispered in despair. "I never meant for any of this to happen."

"When I was little, your mom used to tell me bedtime stories." Jenna spoke, her voice trembling as she looked at Elena. "Stories about vampires." I gulped, fumbling with my hands. "I never thought that what she said could be true."

"It is true, Jenna." I told her in a whisper, looking anywhere but her face. I felt bad about not telling her. "We should've told you. I should've told you." I finally had the courage to look her in the eyes and when I did, my heart ached. "We thought that if you didn't know, you'd be safe." I licked my lips. "To be fair, I didn't know until a day after being here, but..." I trailed off, realizing that wasn't helping. "Things got so out of control and everything Elena had done to keep you out of it blew up in her face. In our face."

"Who else knows?" Both Elena and I looked at her, startled. "Jeremy? John?"

"We were just trying to protect you." I told her, kneeling down in front of her.

"Protect me?" She interrupted us, her voice more firm.

"I'm so sorry, we will tell you everything."

"No, I am the one who is supposed to be protecting you and Jeremy." Jenna looked at me with teary eyes. "And Spencer."

"I know." I told Jenna, biting down on my lip. "But there's nothing that you could have done. There's so much more to it–"

"No." Jenna stated firmly, shaking her head. "This is-- this is so... I don't know how... it's–" She interrupted herself by crying.

"I know."

"Why didn't you tell me?! I'm scared." I looked to Elena and nodded. We both sat on each side of Jenna and hugged her.

"I know. I know." I heard Elena try to soothe her. "Hey. I'm sorry. Jenna, I am so, so sorry."

🔅🔅🔅

"Welcome back." Elijah greeted as Elena and I arrived back into the mansion.

"We're here, now tell us." I demanded Elijah, ignoring the look Elena was giving me. "Please."

"My family was quite close, but Klaus and my father did not get on too well. When we became vampires, we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father's son. My mother had been unfaithful many years before. This was her darkest secret. Klaus is from a different bloodline. Of course, when my father discovered this, he hunted down and he killed my mother's lover and his entire family." I gasped in horror, clomping my mouth shut at the look Elijah gave me. "Not realizing, of course, that he was igniting a war between species that rages until this day."

"Species?" I questioned, my eyes narrowed. "Vampires and Werewolves?" Elijah nodded at me, a proud grin on his face. "Wait." I spoke, pacing back and forth as I tried to put everything together. So Klaus' real father was from a werewolf bloodline?" Again, Elijah nodded. "So, that means that Klaus is just more than an Original vampire. He's the Original hybrid. Both vampire and werewolf."

Elijah nodded and continued his story. "Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, the servants of nature, saw to it that my brother's werewolf side would become dormant."

"That's the curse that Klaus wants to break?"

"He wants to trigger that part of him that's a werewolf. If allowed, Klaus would sire his own bloodline. He'd build his own race. Endangering not just vampires, but everyone." I rose an eyebrow, not believing what I was hearing. Klaus obviously just wanted more of his kind so he wouldn't be alone.

"But you helped him." Elena accused Elijah.

"I helped him because I loved him. That's changed, now he must die." I shook my head at Elijah's words and crossed my arms.

"We have the dagger now. We can stop him." I felt a tug at my heart, as if saying that I shouldn't be doing this.

"When a werewolf is wounded by silver, it heals. An Original can't be killed by anything but white oak ash on a silver dagger. So you see the conundrum. The dagger does not work." I couldn't help but smile as those words fell from Elijah's lips. That means they can't hurt Klaus. Good. But why was that a good thing?

"What, are you saying that Klaus can't be killed?"

"There's one way to kill any supernatural species... at the hands of the servants of nature themselves."

"A witch if they can channel that much power. But it would kill them." I realized. Bonnie.

"The curse must be broken during the full moon. When Klaus is in transition. That's when he'll be at his most vulnerable. A witch with enough power... can kill Klaus."

"What if I told you that I knew a witch that could channel that much power?" I looked at Elena as if she was crazy, which she must be.

"Nope. No. No way. Bonnie might be an ass towards Caroline lately, but I will not let you use her to kill Klaus. She will die, Elena. Do you not get that?" I questioned angrily, not believing her right now.

"We have to try something, Spencer." She told me, stubbornly.

"Then I would tell you there's one more thing that you should know, Elena." Elijah spoke, giving Elena a look. He then started telling us about a past event with a certain dopplebitch.

"You found a way to save the life of the doppelganger?"

"Yes, Elena. I did. But unfortunately, Katerina took matters into her own hands first. I believe you already know how that played out."

"You cared about her, didn't you?" I asked, knowing the look he had on his face. It was the same look I had whenever I was around Jackson when we were together.

"It's a common mistake, I'm told. And it's one I won't make again." He gave Elena her jacket and left. I looked to Elena and we scurried after him.

🔅🔅🔅

"Stop!" I yelled as we walked into the Salvatore Boarding house, seeing Stefan and Damon fighting.

"Now you've invited him in?" Damon asked me angrily.

"Elijah, Elena and I have renewed the terms of our deal." I told him, crossing my arm, still angry about Elena wanting to use Bonnie to kill Klaus.

"Really?"

"The two of you will come to no harm at my hands. I only ask for one thing in return." Elijah simply told Damon.

"What?" Damon questioned, confused.

"An apology."

"A what?" Damon asked, giving me a look as Stefan stepped closer to Elijah.

"I'm sorry for the part that I played in your death. I was protecting Elena. I will always protect Elena." Stefan spoke seriously.

"I understand." We all turned to look at Damon expectantly.

"Sacrifice is going to happen, Damon. Bonnie will be able to kill Klaus without hurting herself and Elijah knows how to save my life. I told you I'd find another way. And I did."

"Is that true?"

"It is." Elijah nodded at Damon.

"And you're trusting him?" Damon asked me, a hurt look in his eyes.

"I am." I looked over at Elena. "We are."

"You can all go to hell." Damon spat at me, making me flinch before he stormed off. I sighed sadly and looked down at the floor. I'm sorry, Damon.

"He's angry with me right now. But he'll come around." I heard Stefan say but I didn't care as I scoffed and stormed out of the Boarding House without another word.

"Perhaps." I whispered to myself.

Yayyyyyyyy!!!

Klaus is gonna show up in the next chapter. What'll think happen? Will there be action between Spencer and Klaus? While i'm on this topic, should I make them mates or should it just be a regular relationship?

Also, i'm thinking about making it my own little thing next chapter instead of an actual episode. I feel that Klaus and Spencer should have a drama filled (actual) meeting. Don't you?

Who's excited?
