S1/E1: Divide and Conquer

It was night as smoke poured from behind the outer wall and shattered front entrance of a prison, as well as a spot on the bridge that leads to the complex. Sirens and alarms go off as guards run by, each with a number of their armored shoulders.

Guard 1: "Code red! Cellblock Nine! Move out!"

The two with him follow their orders and move ahead as One takes the rear. The trio run a short distance before walking with their weapons hot and ready.

Guard 1: "Main yard secure."

Something very large, perhaps a piece of concrete, gets thrown and crashes in front of them.

Guard 3: "There he is!"

Guard 8: "He'll free the criminals!"

They all get their weapons aimed at the intruder in front of them.

Guard 1: "Fire!"

They do so, as their target has already bashed a large hole through a wall and walks through. He throws part of the torn-out section at the guards with his immense strength. He is at least ten feet tall, very blocky in figure, and is entirely built out of concrete. His head was blocky with small, red eyes. It was the villain known as Cinderblock.

Laser blasts strike the edges of the hole the blocky villain had made, and a few actually hit him while some fly past him. They do nothing to effect him, but he seems annoyed nonetheless as he roars and slams a massive foot into the ground. A long fissure is produced that throws debris and dust at the guards, blinding them as their aim spoils. Cinderblock then continues on before a voice stops him.

???: "You know, Cinderblock, normally, the bad guys break out of jail."

???2: "And I can think of six good reasons why you don't want to break in."

A teen leaps forward and lands in a crouch. He wears a colorful suit consisting of the colors red, yellow, and green with green pants and gloves, and cape that yellow inside of it. A yellow utility belt was wrapped around his waist and a yellow "R" was on his chest. His hair was spiky black with a black and white domino mask over his eyes.

Robin: "One!"

Now a teenage girl swoops by and lands next to Robin. She had long pink hair with tanned skin and green eyes. She wore a violet sleeveless top and skirt along violet boots. Her forearms had gauntlets on them with round green glass pieces where the hands were, along with a metal piece around the top of her top with a round green piece in the middle.

Starfire: "Two!"

A green tiger with darker green stripes lunges in and lands as well. It then transform into a human boy with green skin, hair, and eyes. He wore a black and magenta outfit with a silver belt around his waist.

Beast Boy: "Three!"

(Art by Yuki119. Can't tell where it's found, but credit to artist)

A teenage girl drops in with her hands raised and surrounded in black energy. She wore a blue, mistakened as purple a lot, cloak with her hood over her white face. She wore a black one-piece underneath with black boots. Her eyes were purple with dark hair and a red gemstone lodged in her forehead.

Raven: "Four!"

(Art by yue on Twitter. Credit to them)

A cybernetic teen then jumps in. He was mostly metal with bionics, his circuitry glowing blue and one of his eyes being red. The remainder of his face revealed he was a bald African-American.

Cyborg: "Five!"

(Don't know who made this, but credit to them)

And finally, another teen leaps forward and lands with a slide. He wore a dark grey ninja garb that covered most of his body except for the top of his arms and shoulders. Red-orange paint, almost like tribal markings, was stained across his narrow (E/C) eyes and tanned face that was mostly hidden behind his hood. A katana was sheathed on his back, along with a long dagger that was hanging from his own dark-colored utility belt. Red-orange markings were also seen on his left shoulder. This was Y/n, codenamed...

Ronin: "Six."

(Art by popapanda, I think? Found this on Pinterest, so I'm not sure. Credit to artist anyway)

Together, these six teens form a group of superheroes that protect Jump City. The Teen Titans.

Robin: "No matter how you do the math, it all adds up to you going down. So, are you going to go quietly?"

Cyborg: "Or is this gonna get loud?"

Cinderblock roars before barreling straight towards the heroes.

Robin: "Titans! Go!"

The six charge. Beast Boy becomes a falcon as he, Starfire, and Raven take to the air. Robin, Cyborg, and Ronin charge on foot as the ninja pulls out his katana and dagger. Robin and Ronin leap forward as the Boy Wonder lands a solid kick on Cinderblock, staggering him before the dark-cladded ninja swings down with his blades. The concrete villain turns around, only to be pelted with a double dose of starbolts in the back, courtesy of Starfire. Then Cyborg leaps in with a right hook and Cinderblock stops it, but he still gets driven back by the impact.

Beast Boy then dives in and rakes his talons across Cinderblock's body multiple times. Then Raven raises her hands as she uses her power to levitate a section of the floor, tilting it up until it stands vertical. She then flies away as the blocky villain smashes through the improvised barrier and Raven flies away as Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, and Ronin rush in to fight again.

However, one giant backhand from Cinderblock leaves only Starfire in motion as the other three have been knocked away. The Tamaranean girl throws a couple of starbolts, but she's suddenly grabbed in the enormous hands of Cinderblock and gets pulled in for an up close face-to-face with the villain. Although she seems to be trapped, Starfire only smiles.

Starfire: "I am sorry to dissapoint you, but I am stronger than I look."

Her talk was backed up by her walk. Or to be more precise, she breaks Cinderblock's hold on her and gives the villain a high kick that drives him against the wall. A falcon cry is then heard and Beast Boy swoops in again and then transforms into a tyrannosaurus rex as he lands on the ground. Cinderblock, however, only charges at the green shapeshifter and knocks him back with a left hook.

Raven: "Azarath Metrion--"

Raven cuts her incantation off with a gasp as she sees Beast Boy's shadow falling over her. He drops from above and transforms back into a human before crashing into the magic user, both being sent to the ground. Beast Boy is the first to get up and shakes his head, and Raven stands only a moment after with an angry look as a lock of hair falls over her face.

Beast Boy: *sheepishly* "Heh... Watch out for falling dinosaurs?"

Raven gives her teammate a hard glances and blows her hair aside.

Beast Boy: "I'm gonna leave you alone now."

Ronin suddenly rushes by them and leaps into the air. He lands on Cinderblock's arm and stabs into it with his dagger, making the villain grunt. Then Robin jumps onto his neck and tries to put him in a headlock as his teammate begins landing kicks on the villain's face. The stone behemoth begins stumbling around randomly as he roars in frustration and tears a girder loose from the nearby wall.

Robin: "Thrashing only makes me hold tighter!"

Cinderblock raises the girder and swings it at the area in between his arm and neck. However, the two Titans leap away just in time and Cinderblock only whacks himself in the arm.

Cyborg looks at the girder in the villain's hand and then spots another nearby. He smiles.

Cyborg: "Now there's an idea."

He rips the girder free and charges at Cinderblock. The villain spots this and runs forward to meet Cyborg in a clash as they swing their makeshift clubs at each other. They begin to struggle in close-quarters, but the bionic Titan starts to gain some ground in their fight. However, Cinderblock pushes Cyborg back and then sends him and his girder flying with a mighty swing. Starfire then floats down from above and Cinderblock prepares to let her have it, but a flash of starbolts melts the metal girder in his hands. He grunts in surprise as the alien Titan laughs.

Then Ronin ran in again and swung his katana at Cinderblock's ankle. He grunts and slams down a fist, but Shadow had rolled aside to avoid the attack. He then runs up the villain's arm and swings his dagger across his face before leaping away again. However, he digs into his utility belt and throws a handful of shurikens into Cinderblock's back. Their centers begin flashing red.

Ronin: "Yanfajir." (Explode, or I guess boom in the context I'm using? I don't know how Arabic works)

The explosive shurikens explode, covering the villain in smoke as he roars in pain. He then grunts before turning to run off, heading deeper into the prison complex. Cyborg is still flat on his back, but he gets helped to his feet by Robin and dusts himself off.

Robin: "Want to give this guy the Sonic Boom?"

The bionic teen smiles as he converts his arm into a sonic cannon.

Cyborg: "I got the Sonic if you got the Boom."

The other four Titans regroup and look off down the corridor. Inside, Cinderblock was heading farther into the complex.

"Yo, Rockhead!"

Cinderblock stops and turns around to find Robin and Cyborg running straight at him. They peel off to opposite sides and go up the walls, then jump towards each other as Cyborg's sonic cannon warms up. However, their plan goes badly wrong as they're feet get tangled up and they're left spinning out of control in midair. They're finally flung apart and Cyborg crashes into the wall, producing a blast of sound that engulfs Beast Boy and Starfire. Robin slams against the other wall and the explosive disk in his hand slides away and detonates at Raven and Ronin's feet.

Cinderblock, after all the fireworks, is completely unscathed and clumps away, smashing through one wall after another in his path. Prisoners step out to look after the lumbering colossus, them start to sprint out the same way he came in.

Various Prisoners: "Hey, hey, look at this. It's freedom! Let's do it! Let's get outta here! Yeah!"

Robin stands to his feet as he rubs his head. Then the commotion if fleeing prisoners reaches him from around the corner, and a throng of escaping prisoners comes straight at him. He takes out his fighting staff and extends it to full length, and he, Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Ronin get ready to throw down. As the latter are caught by surprise, the former let the criminals have it as Beast Boy transforms into a tyrannosaurus rex again, scaring the prisoners pale.

Meanwhile, Cinderblock comes up to a lone cell door with a sign that read "Prisoner 385901-Absolute Silence!". Inside the extremely large cell, a cylindrical glass tank of liquid is suspended from the ceiling. Within is the figure of a man, erect and clad in only what looks like a pair of swim briefs. He was thin and seemingly in his thirties with a shaved head.

Cinderblock smashes the door apart and walks inside. He approaches the tabk and rips it away from the ceiling-mounted apparatus that holds it. Broken hoses spew liquid and gases about the cell as result. The blocky villain then punches a hole in the floor and jumps through it to make his escape, taking the man in the tank with him. And even though the tank gets briefly stuck and has to be yanked forcibly through the hole, Prisoner 385901 does not so much as stir in his sleep.

Outside the entrance of the cellblock, two prisoners run out in a bid for freedom.

Prisoner 1: "Let's go, let's go!"

Prisoner 2: "I think we're gonna make it!"

Prisoner 1: "Yeah!"

They approach the smashed gate in the outer wall. However, it's promptly closed when the pieces fly back into place by magic. Then a capture rope flies forward and wraps around one of the prisoners, sending him to the ground.

Prisoner 1 and 2: "Huh?"

A swirling black vortex suddenly forms in front of the gate and recedes to nothing as Raven floats through. Ronin then appears behind the standing prisoner and places his blade next to the man's neck.

Raven: "Think again."

Ronin: "Fun's over."

A small amount of time later, back at the corridor where the holes Cinderblock made by smashing through the walls, guards kept watch as the prisoners returned to their cells. The Titans watch from the side as Beast Boy turns from a gorilla back to a human.

Beast Boy: "Jailbreak? I don't see any jailbreak."

Ronin: *crosses arms* "None of us would if Robin and Cyborg coordinated themselves better."

Robin: "Excuse me? Cyborg is the one that messed up!"

Cyborg: *to Robin* "Me? I messed up nothing! You got in my way!"

Robin: "You were too far forward, and Cinderblock got away because of it!"

Cyborg: "You saying this is my fault?"

Robin: "Want me to say it again?"

Sparks fly between the two Titans as they headbutt each other. However, Starfire pops up between them and pushes them back.

Starfire: "Stop! No more mean talking!"

Robin and Cyborg grunt and turn their backs on her and each other. Ronin sighs as he shakes his head.

Beast Boy: "Yeah. If you two are gonna fight, we need time to sell tickets."

Ronin shoves his elbow into the green shapeshifter's side. He winces a bit and Raven steps up.

Raven: "Cinderblock escaped. No amount of yelling will change that. So stop acting like idiots, and let's go home."

Cyborg and Robin throw each other a disdainful glance over their shoulders and snort. They then stride away, leaving the other Titans nonplussed.

Robin: *softly* "Loser..."

Cyborg: *softly* "Jerk..."

They suddenly whirl around to face each other, basically catching what the other said.

"What did you say?!?"

The butt heads again.

Robin: "Do you have a problem, Tin Man?"

Cyborg: "Yeah! It's four feet fall and smells like cheap hair gel!"

This seems to hit a nerve as Robin grows angry.

Robin: "Well, you're an oversized klutz, and your feet smell like motor oil!"

Cyborg: "Your boss, you're rude, you've got no taste in music!"

Ronin pinches the bride of his nose as he lets out a frustrated breath.

Ronin: "They're bickering like 'atfal (children)."

Robin: "I don't even know why you're one this team!"

Cyborg: "That makes two of us! I QUIT!"

These two words leave the rest of the group staring wide-eyed in total shock. They all watch as Cyborg stalks away. Robin hangs his head.

Location: Unknown

In some unknown location, giant gears turn along with many other heavy equipment hard at work, like cams and pistons and crackshafts. The entire large enclosure is illuminated chiefly by dim red light. A shadowy figure is seated on a large chair atop a raised platform. No features can be seen except for the glint of full-body armor and one eye, being the left. In the harsh glare of the light, the ride side of the figure's head and shoulder show a grey tint, while red-orange appears on the other side.

Cinderblock stumps into the light behind the figure and places the tank containing Prisoner 385901 on the floor. The seated man speaks, his voice even and measured.

Shadowy Figure: "Cinderblock. I see your mission was a success. Good. We will proceed with Phase Two. Wake him."

The stone behemoth strains at the metal cap on the top end of the tank, but manages to unscrew it. It opens, releasing thick clouds of vapor. When they clear, the occupant begins to stir from his slumber.

385901: *startled* "I'm... awake? I should never be awake! I'm only human when I'm sleeping!"

Shadowy Figure: "But what I have in mind, your human form is useless. I need Plasmus."

Prisoner 385901's form begins to swell and distort with the tank, causing the glass to bulge and finally shatter. What comes out is a mass of purplish slime that overwhelms the nearby Cinderblock, accompanied by more fumes from the liquid inside. When the view clears, the overhead light has gone out and the ooze has formed itself itself a very large, roughly shaped humanoid with an extremely large mouth and two tiny yellowish eyes. It was the form taken by 385901 whenever he is not asleep. Plasmus cokes forward and lets off a screeching roar.

Location: Titans Tower

It was the day after Cinderblock had broken into the prison and Cyborg quit. Beast Boy was attempting to call Cyborg, but he only went straight to voicemail each time.

Cyborg: *answering machine* "This is Cyborg. I'm either in the gym, playing GameStation, or kicking bad guy butt. Leave a message."

Beast Boy's handheld device beeps. He groans in frustration as he paces back and forth. Nearby, Starfire is at the kitchen counter with a hoodless Ronin, Raven is looking at a bank of monitors, and Robin was standing by the windows.

Beast Boy: "Hello? Cy? Pick up! Come on, Cy, pick up! I know you're there. The phone's built into your arm!"

At the kitchen counter, Starfire is mixing something in a bowl. Ronin was next to her without his hood, revealing his head of short (H/C) hair and tanned skin, revealing he was mostly Arab in his features. His red facepaint remained. Starfire then holds up a spoonful of glop from her bowl towards him.

Starfire: "Would you like a taste, Friend Y/n?"

Said ninja simply looks at his teammate. He doesn't simply care for secret identities, so he allows for his teammates to call him by his name whenever they weren't on a mission. When they were, however, he was referred to as Ronin.

Y/n: "What is it?"

Starfire: "Pudding of Sadness. It's a dish from my home planet Tamaranean's make when they are depressed."

Y/n: "I'm never depressed."

He goes back to looking at the vegetables he was cutting.

Starfire: "Aren't you upset that our friend and teammate Cyborg is no longer with us?"

As Starfire asks her question, Y/n's chopping becomes heavier as he cuts into the cutting board.

Y/n: "Getting upset results in death. You must always have a ras hadi wabarid litafeal ma yajib alqiam bih. (calm and cool head to do what needs to be done)."

The Tamaranean girl pulls away her spoonful of alien pudding as her face falls. Then she takes notice of how her friend was speaking and how hard he was chopping the vegetables before him. He was cutting through the cutting board with his sheer strength.

Starfire flies away and over to Beast Boy. He offers it to him and shoves it into his mouth without warning. It sends him into convulsions, which end with him on all fours and trying to keep from vomiting. Finally, he spits out the mess and scrubs frantically at his tongue to remove the last fragments.

Beast Boy: "What is that? Cream of toenails?"

Starfire: "Pudding of Sadness." *grabs another spoonful* "It is what the people of my planet eat when bad things happen."

She eats the spoonful she had grabbed and is suddenly on the verge of spitting out her own chow. After a monster effort, she gets it down and ends up having a fit as well. She then goes over to Raven who was still checking the monitors. She offers her a new spoonful of pudding.

Starfire: "Try. The displeasing taste will ease your troubled mind."

Raven: *turns to Starfire* "My mind is never troubled. People come, people go. It's pointless to be upset about Cyborg."

The cloaked girl's hair flies widely about her face and all the monitors behind her crack. She does not notice the damage as she is paying attention to Starfire's wide-eyed expression.

Raven: "What?"

Starfire: "... nothing."

She flies off and towards Robin who looked morosely out over Jump City as the Sun rose. Starfire holds out the bowl to him.

Starfire: "Here, Robin. You must need this most of all since... well..."

She lets the bowl hang.

Robin: "I'm fine." *turns away* "Who knows? Maybe we're better off without him."

Starfire lowers her bowl and gazes at her leader with obvious concern.

Some time later, Robin is seen in the gym sparring with Y/n. They were throwing rapid punches and kicks at each other with deadly accuracy. They seemed to be evenly matched, but the ninja ends up winning with a palm strike to the Boy Wonder's chest. He gets sent to a wall and falls to the floor with a grunt. He shakes his head and looks to the side to see his and Cyborg's weight benches. The latter was equipped with the sort of giant barbells only that Titan could lift.

Another small timeskip, and Beast Boy was seen in the kitchen. He hoits a stack of dirty plates onto the counter by the sink. Many other dishes are already piled up there.

Beast Boy: "Yo! Whose turn to do the dishes?"

"Cyborg."

The green goofball cries out briefly in surprise like a monkey at this and turns around, only to see his leader behind him. Robin walks by him and to the sink, starting to wash a plate.

Later, Robin is now playing on the GameStation system and was blasting enemy aircraft out of the sky. The screen is projected onto the windows.

Robin: "Come on, come on... I'm not scared to take... no! Yeah! Got it! Just one more and... yes!"

The screen flashes red and blue before showing the message "Cyborg-1,000,00".

Robin: "New highscore!"

Cyborg's name is smashed away by Robin's and the score changes to 5,000,000. However, the Titan who set it is no longer elated by his achievement. He hangs his head before standing to his feet and walking off.

He makes his way down the hall and approaches the door of Cyborg's room. It opens to show the interior. There was a bookcase stood with pictures and a baseball on top, a computer desk with a football by the monitor, a trophy case in one rear corner, and many areas for self-repair and diagnostics. A large inclined table with a footstop at its lower end is in the other rear corner. It was the missing Titan's bed.

Robin walks inside and towards a dresser. He takes a picture from it and looks at it, seeing both him and Cyborg in it. They seemed to be laughing and having a grand time.

Robin: "I'm sorry..."

There was a moment of silence, and an alarm suddenly shatters the silence. Robin places the picture back down and runs to the operations center. He sees Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Y/n looking at a projection of Jump City with a large flashing dot that skowly moved along the screen.

Robin: "Cinderblock strikes again?"

Beast Boy: "You wish."

Ronin: "Let's move."

Time: Night

At a chemical factory is seen. Inside, jets of colored solutions shootbdown from overhead nozzles and flow together in a pipeline that snakes across the factory floor. The mixture emerges from its other end and falls into a waiting barrel. Plasmus waits at the free end of the conveyer belt which all the barrels are resting on.

The belt starts to move, he picks up each arriving barrel and guzzles it down, growing a few feet taller after the first two. The third is hit with a starbolt before he can finish it. The remaining chemicals spill out the broken end, and he lifts the barrel to to eye to peer through it. The five Titans stand on the other side of the factory, with Ronin having his hood back over his face.

Robin: "That stuff can't be good for you."

Plasmus throws the barrel aside and beaches.

Beast Boy: "Nice one!"

Ronin: "Please, do not compliment the villain."

Plasmus roars and shoots gobbets of sludge from his body towards the heroes who scatter to avoid being hit. Robin jumps and flips like mad, just barely staying ahead of the barrage, and lands on a crate near a mixing tank.

Robin: "Star! Ronin! Let him have it!"

The two oblige. Starfire throws a starbolt while Ronin sends an explosive shuriken at Plasmus. The starbolt blows a hole in the creature's chest and the shuriken blows apart his arm.

Starfire: *gasps* "Did we let him have too much?"

Plasmus sucks in a huge breath and the hole fills in, along with his arm growing back.

Beast Boy: "I'm thinking not enough."

Ronin: "Then let's give him some more."

Plasmus balls his hand into a fist and extends one gooey arm towards Starfire. She shrieks before Raven plows her out of the way.

Robin: "Hey, Ronin! Maybe this guy just needs to chill, right?"

Said ninja turns to his leader who holds up a disc that he recognized. The stealthy Titan nods as he takes out his own shurikens. The two acrobats send their projectiles at Plasmus and they lodge themselves into his arm, freezing it upon impact. The owner of the solid arm looks at it in surprise, then shatters it against an overhead pipe.

Ronin: "Allaeanat (curses)."

The Arab-American Titan then runs forward as he unsheathes his katana. Beast Boy, as a pterodactyl, and Starfire follow after him as the alien superhero drove Plasmus back with energy blasts and Beast Boy executes several punching strikes with his talons. Ronin then swung his blade at the creature's leg with three strong swings. He cuts through it with large gashes being formed, but they easily fill in and he gets kicked away. Then Plasmus retaliates against the other two Titans by lashing out with many thick tendrils from the stump of his missing arm.

Both Titans cut and run to stay out of the mess. Starfire throws shots every which way to fend off the attack as Beast Boy does a few evasive maneuvers. Then Raven rises into the air as she prepares an encantation.

Raven: "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

She levitates several barrels and launches them at Plasmus. They strike him in the chest, end first, and stick there. The creature's arm regrows and he gathers his strength before sending the barrels back at the sender, forcing her to dive for cover. Robin leaps in for a flying kick with Ronin, only to get stuck in place. Ronin used his katana to cut himself free, thinking that any further force would get even more stuck. However, Robin doesn't have the same idea as he gets his other leg and one hand stuck when he tried more blows.

Robin: *struggling* "Come on! Let me go, you giant zit!"

The creature only snarls and roars down at him before sending forth a huge jet of slime that carries him screaming along with it. The purple tide washes over Beast Boy, back in human form, as well, along with Ronin. Dripping with it, Robin groans and gets up with Ronin as Starfire rushes over.

Starfire: "Robin! Ronin!"

Robin: "I'm okay... sort of."

He spits out a wad or two.

Ronin: "Speak for yourself..."

The ninja grimaces in disgust as he wipes off some gunk from his face. Beast Boy, meanwhile, had made it partway to his feet. He had accidently ingested some of the goo, making his eyes water profusely.

Beast Boy: "And I thought Star's pudding tasted bad!"

A fresh howl from Plasmus' direction refocuses that attention of all four Titans in a hurry. Then the scene cuts to a fuzzy image of the creature that flickers, as if it were a video. The shadowy figure from before stands before it with another, shorter individual.

Shadowy Figure: "Dissapointing..."

Cinderblock moves forward as the shorter individual is seen. They are an elderly fellow, bald on top, in a white suit and tie and a black shirt.

Shadowy Figure: "With one Titan missing, this is almost too easy. I was expecting more of a challenge. Cinderblock."

Said colossus steps closer as he holds some sort of large device.

Shadowy Figure: "Begin Phase Three."

Cinderblock answers with a grunt and stumps away.

Back at the factory, a gush of Plasmus' muck splatters down from above. Starfure stands up within it and groans disgustedly.

Starfire: "I feel like the underside of a Zornian much beetle."

Raven is the next to stand, also covered in muck.

Raven: "Tell me about it."

Beast Boy: "Dude, I am not on the menu!"

The shapeshifting goofball declares as he runs for his life. Then Robin's birdarang and a hook, belonging to Ronin, sails into view with long tethers behind them. The grappling hooks fly around Plasmus' legs to wrap them up, and the two Titans are quick to arrive as well. They grab the free ends of their lines and take some more turns around the giant as the Ronin planted some explosive shurikens on one foot.

Robin: "Maybe the best way to take you down... is to tie you up!"

A mighty explosion destroys Plasmus' foot and Beast Boy, as a rhinoceros, charges in and scores a direct hit that sends Plasmus toppling backward to fall among a group of support columns. Starfire goes over to a pillar and bends it over to pin the slimey monster down with it, and Raven does likewise with others. Plasmus struggles against these makeshift bonds as the five inspect their handiwork with Beast Boy back in human form.

Starfire: "We did it!"

Robin: "Nice work, team."

Ronin: "We did well."

Beast Boy: "Yeah. Didn't think we'd pull it off without--"

Raven angrily socks him in the shoulder to cut him off and Ronin sends him a glare. He lets off a surprised little sheep-like bleat, then laughs and swears nervously. Robin checks a locater device briefly before tucking it away in his belt.

Robin: "We finished just in time. Cinderblock's been spotted downtown. Come on!"

The five Titans turn to leave, but a loud gurgling noise from Plasmus' direction stops Beast Boy. He turns back in confusion, only to see the villain starting to ooze a bit under the girders he was trapped beneath. His enture body then flows together and he becomes free of the restraints. Then the bundles of ooze shape themselves into a gigantic crab-like thing with with claw, an octopus-like appendage, a snaky rear limb, and a monster head.

Beast Boy: "Uh... heads up."

Now having formed a second crab claw, the crab creature rushes at the fivesome. They burst out through a set of double doors and slam them shut just in time, leaning against them with all these weight. Plasmus's snarling and pounding can be heard through the metal as the full body of the creature, along with his slime creatures, battered themselves to employ against the doors.

Beast Boy: "Five against five. How about those odds?"

Robin: "Forget the odds. We need a plan."

Ronin: "How about we--"

The doors tremble even more violently, cutting the ninja off as Plamus continues his assault. Then he finally forces the doors partway open and pushes a tendril out, then another. Starfire screams as the opening grows wider and the monster head appears.

Robin: "Titans! Separate!"

The doors finally smash open as Robin, Beast Boy as a cheetah, Starfire, Raven, and Ronin go in different directions among the machinery.

Plasmus' snake, separated from the rest of the body, chases Starfire. She turns in midair and bombards it with starbolts, but it lunges and catches her to drag her from the air.

Beast Boy sprints along the floor, with one crab claw in hot pursuit. One of its claws open wide and lashes out a long tongue that snares him. He breaks loose by turning into a gorilla, but is knocked off his feet by a flying tackle.

Raven, meanwhile, flies along as the octopus chases her on the ground. She exerts her powers over all the machinery here, causing the bolts and screws to fall out, and the loosened vessels topple into the aisle one after another. The octopus swerves and slides to miss several of them, but is finally hit broadside. The ravenette looks back smugly, only to find that it has recovered and placed itself directly in front of her. She only gets enough time for a shocked gasp before it rears up to strike.

Ronin is seen flipping and parkouring past some machinery to flee from the monster head chasing him. He attempts to throw some explosive, concussive, and even freezing shurikens at the creature to keep it back. However, it only morphs itself to keep itself from getting hit before leaping at its target. The Arab-American spins around as he swings his katana to retaliate, only for his body to be swallowed whole.

The only one left is Robin who keeps going full steam among the other process equipment. The other crab claw is after him and not letting up. The Boy Wonder reaches a set of double doors, and everything goes dark as the other side is only illuminated by some lurid green light that came from the floor. Robin hurls himself forward and something breaks his fall, and he finds himself carried akong in midair as he rubs his head. He was standing on a moving conveyor belt above several large vats of glowing chemicals.

The crab claw chasing him lands behind him and pulls back to strike. Robin has his staff out in a snap and delivers several blows that merely splatter through the purple goo. The end is caught and broken off, but Robin simply extends the other end to make up for the lost length and swings again. The time, his weapon is not only blocked, but dashed from his hands to go spiraling over the vats. The Boy Wonder gets into a kung-fu stance.

Back with Stafire, she's still held fast by Plasmus' snake portion. As she struggles, it wraps a coil around her hand and squeezes itself together into a large ball. She bursts out of it after a moment and sees the main body perched on top of an equipment cabinet, lying in wait. Beast Boy, in human form, Raven, and Ronin are carried into view, still held by their respective captors body parts. Most of Ronin's body is held inside the head's mouth as his legs kick outside in frustration. Then the snake reforms at the feet of one very frightened Tamaranean teenager, and she recoil at its strike.

Back at the conveyer, Robin steadily backs up before the opponent's advice, and it soon throws itself on top of him to pin him to the belt's surface. The Boy Wonder struggles mightily as both are swept toward the free end, which hangs over a bubbling vat. He goes partway over, the smiles wickedly and flips the claw backward off the precipice. However, he miscalculates and has to grab the corner of the belt to keep himself from going down with it. The housing starts to pull loose, though, due to the claw having seized one of Robin's boot and is pulling with all its strength. Batman's former sidekick strains with all the power he can put into his one-handed grip, but the conveyor has had all it can take. His fingers slide away from the ripping material to leave him plummeting toward the last bath he will ever take.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a familiar bionic arm shoots forward and grabs Robin's wrist. This keeps him from falling into the sizzling vat as the sludgy apparition dissolves harmless after having fallen in. On the conveyer, the leader of the Teen Titans has been hoisted up by Cyborg, who stands behind him, and tries desperately to catch his breath.

Cyborg: *smiles* "I still got the Sonic if you still got the Boom."

Robin returns the smile as the teammates' fued has quickly ended like that.

Back in the center of the factory on the floor, Plasmus's other body parts have reassembled themselves and the Titans are nowhere to be seen. The slimy monster laughs nastily, but stops short when Robin and Cyborg square off against him.

Robin and Cyborg: "Teen Titans! Go!"

The duo go into the same sequence of moves they used while trying to pull off the Sonic Boom attack against Cinderblock inside the prison. This time, however, they coordinate correctly and do not get tangled up in midair, and Robin hurls an explosive disc while Cyborg fires hiss sonic cannon. The combined effect the two weapons create is enough to blow Plasmus apart into small puddles of gunk, and amongst it all is Prisonee 385901 dozing and snoring fitfully.

Beast Boy and Raven sit up out of the remains of their captors, followed by Starfire and Ronin. They're all engulfed by the slime. Robin and Cyborg look down at the frail man who had just inflicted so much damage to the factory.

Outside, the Titans watch as the human Plasmus is loaded onto a new truck as he's suspended in a new tanks. Robin then glances at his bionic teammate.

Robin: "Look, uh... sorry about..."

Cyborg: "Yeah."

Robin: "So... are we cool?"

Cyborg: *smiles and holds out fist* "Frosty."

Robin smiles back and the two fist-bump each other. Starfire beams in joy at her now reconciled friends and Ronin smiles under his hood.

Starfire: "You made up! Glorious! I wish to initiate a group hug."

Raven: "Pass."

Ronin: "Yeah, not much of a hugger."

Beast Boy: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, warm fuzzies all around. But we still gotta stop Cinderblock."

Cyborg: "No, we don't. Thought I'd bring a present, 'case you were still mad."

He gestures behind himself, and Cinderblock is hoisted up on a winch behind him. The piece of equipment he had earlier in the strange lair was wrapped around his body to bind him. The stone villain grumbles angrily.

Robin: "Thanks. But there is one thing that's still bothering me."

Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire first readt with surprise, then go wide-eyed in disbelief that anything could be bothering their leader at this point, given the events of the past few hours.

Robin: "Breaking into jail? Using Plasmus to distract us? The whole plan seems to be a little too smart for Cinderblock."

Cyborg: "I've been thinking the same thing."

The rest of the Titans are relieved as Beast Boy and Starfire sigh. Ronin steps forward.

Ronin: "Someone has been pulling some unseen strings. But who?"

Cyborg: "Well, whoever they are, they're no match for the Teen Titans!"

Robin: "I heard that!"

The two trade a high five with big smiles on their faces.

Location: Unknown

A teacup and a saucer plate are seen on a table or ledge. A fist is slammed down, breaking them, after which a pair of white-gloved hands reaches down with a small broom and dustpan to sweep up the pieces. It was the elder man from before, who was a butler named Wintergreen.

Wintergreen places a fresh cup on the arm of his employer's chair. The shadowy figure from before is once again seated and illuminated like before. And despite having lashed out, the man's eye narrows as his voice retains its control.

Shadowy Figure: "Next time, my plans will succeed. And the Titans will pay."
