『 forty-three : ONE LAST HORRAH ! 』
『 chapter xliii : ONE LAST HORRAH ! 』
THE SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL HAD NEVER SEEN her mother so happy. Not this happy, and for this long. Daphne Uley —Swan— was absolutely glowing with elation. June hadn't remembered a time where there wasn't a frown permanently etched on her lips. Or when she wasn't giving June a sad look with those deep blue eyes they share. But then June might be lying. Daphne used to be this happy, when her firstborn was just a little thing running around First Beach and collecting seashells for her parents. Maybe then. But that happiness doesn't quite encompass the one that she wears tonight. It's a different sort of smile and it's a different kind of happiness that her mother wears and it's one that Juniper know she deserves.
She watches her mother being twirled on the makeshift dance floor by her new husband, June's father, who's in equal elation and probably hasn't smiled this big since before Harry Clearwater passed away. Her dad had been through a lot; his first wife leaving him, watching both his parents die from old age, and his two best friends being taken so suddenly. Charlie deserved to laugh that laugh and look deliriously lovestruck. God, they deserve it.
June's sitting by the table with her friends, her eyes catching how Star and Jared are telepathically speaking ( due to having completed the spirit ceremony and are now mates ) and she can see the sparkle in Star's eyes when Jared helps Phoebe wipe cake off of her cheeks. Lyanna and Embry are the same way, Embry must've said something vulgar through his bond with his mate because Lyannas eyes widen before she smacks Embry's chest as he laughs. She looks over and sees Jacob staring at their friends also, a certain longing in his own eyes that makes June look down at her hands.
I will never give him that, June reminded.
She makes her way over to the snack station to help the organizers out, take her mind off of things when she feels a presence walk up. Edward Cullen stands right in front of her wearing what looks to be a ridiculously expensive suit and his hair tousled in perfection as per usual.
"You're out of candy bars," He chimes.
"Thought y'all didn't eat regular food?"
Edward grins, "I have a taste for sweet things."
June eyes him, "Is there something you need?"
"Not necessarily," He shakes his head. "But you do."
"I don't need anything from you," June snaps.
"OK. I just thought you might what to know what's been going through your wolfs head the whole time we've been here," Edward says teasingly.
June sets down the plates she has in her hands and flares up at him, "What do you want from me, Edward?"
"Absolutely nothing." He says genuinely. "Jacob's just been thinking about how much he wants to give you a nice wedding, by the way. It's annoyingly sweet."
She knows what he's doing by mentioning it, "Well, I'm not gonna ruins his dreams now, am I?"
"It's not fair to him, Juniper."
That angers her, "Since when do you care about anything that concerns me besides your own selfish reasons? Huh? When?"
"You're lying to him. You're leading him on—"
"I'm living," June corrected. "Try it."
Edwards golden eyes darken, "Your sister is very sorry for how she acted out at you; I can't read her mind but I know that much," He says. "I assured her there isn't a single thing between us."
"Good," June nodded. "Now leave me alone before I ruin my parents wedding by knocking your fangs out."
"You know I'm right," Edward frowns. "I may not care for Jacob Black in the least bit, but you know in your heart, you owe it to him to let him know."
June stays quiet in the beginning, she looks at him with watery blue eyes. "I want to tell him. I do." She looks down at her hands. "But I'll lose him forever anyway ... it won't matter and I'll have wasted the last thing in the world that matters to me."
Edward looks at her for a long while. He steps closer and she doesn't move back. He touches her wrist softly, his cold fingertips soothing the pain of one of her bruises. It's the only touch that can make her feel dead and alive. With Jacob, it's just life and life and more life but with Edward it's a certain humbleness that envelopes a person in warm pain.
"If you must die, Juniper," Edward says thickly. "Die knowing your life was a lot of people's lives best part."
He taps her bruises softly before he's off, his back turned and leaving her there with only her thoughts before she goes back to where her friends are. She sits there, silent as people make their speeches about how happy they are for the new couple. June's suddenly gaze lifts up when she sees someone walk around the house towards them. April. The smile that rises on her face is genuine.
"Juniper!" April smiles prettily. She holds a gift in her hand and raises it. "I got those forks and spoons from the registry. Lame. I know, but, on a waitress budget, it's pretty damn classy—"
Juniper hugs her immediately. "I'm glad you're here."
April hugs her back, "Oh! Yeah, no, of course. I love weddings. Sorry I couldn't make it for the exchanging of the vows," She pouts. "I had to help my little brother with some stuff; little league cheerleading can be a pain in the ass."
"Sounds like it," June smirks.
"April?" A voice sounds out.
Jacob is holding a glass of something when he spots the pretty girl and his girlfriend talking to each other. June's eyebrows raise in surprise, "I knew that was you."
"Jay!" April exclaims merrily. She extends her arms out and envelopes him in a hug. June blinks at the gesture but can't find herself being jealous. "Fancy seeing you here, what are the odds?"
Curious, June asks, "You two know each other?"
Jacob looks like a deer caught in headlights and he nods nervously, smiling, "I helped April with her car last week, I didn't tell you? She had a flat."
"Jay was a life saver," April says sweetly. "He told me y'all were dating when I mentioned I worked at Sully's. Asked if I knew you and I said—"
"Who doesn't know June Swan?" Jacob and April finished simultaneously, smiling at each other.
With a better spirit than before, June's eyes sparkled a bit, and jokingly added, "Beyonce. Or David Bowie. I don't think they'd know me." June chirped.
April laughed, her eyes squinting with delight. "Well, I'll leave you two lovebirds to it, I'm gonna get my drink and my dance on," She winks at Juniper. "It's a wedding after all."
"I did promise you that they'd play Lil Jon."
Her friend smiles, "Ugh, you know me so well."
June gave the girl a hug, whispering a quick incantation and pleading upon the spirits in that moment, that was all that was needed. April jumped back with a small yelp, "wow that was some static," she giggled. June smiled back, especially when she pulled away and saw some intricate markings appear on April's skin before they were gone in an instant.
Good.
April was off then, dancing her way into the crowd and June spun on her heel a bit to turn to Jacob. "Dance with me?"
Jacob's lips quirk, "Anything for my girl."
He leads them to the corner of the dance floor. The song that starts playing is similar to the one that played at the prom a year back. Something about finding a flightless bird.
"You didn't tell me that you fixed her tire," June suddenly said with a gleam in her eye.
"Sorry. I didn't want to upset you," Jacob confessed.
"Oh my god, handsome, I'm not mad." June rolls her eyes with a laugh. "I think it's very sweet and kind and thoughtful of you to help April out. She's new and stuff and she needs all the help she can get."
"She's actually pretty good with cars," Jacob informs her with a soft tone that subtly makes June's heart break. "Said her dad has a good collection of some oldies, man, he's gotten them from all over the US and stuff, bought them at auctions. It'd be nice to see them."
June nods, refusing to act giddy, it's working. "Yep, that's really cool. You should go see them."
"You're not bothered if I go check them out?"
"Jake," Juniper chuckles. "We're past the point of jealously. We don't have some regular relationship."
"I can't look at any girl the way I do you, anyway," Jacob says assuringly. "I just don't want to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, that's all. If me hanging with April upsets you—"
"Which it doesn't," Juniper assures. "You're sweet for thinking of me, though."
"Everything I do, I consider you," Jacob rests his forehead on hers. The song turns into another slow song and he smirks as his grip on her waist tightens. "One day, I'm gonna give you the best wedding ever.
Juniper's heart lurched, just like he said, "Hmm, really?"
Jacob nods, joy in his eyes. "Really," He confirms. "I'm gonna marry you on First Beach and we're gonna have our reception here on the Rez and Quil and Embry are gonna be my best men, Willie can be the ring bearer—"
"You've got it all figured out, huh?" June muses.
Jake smirks, "Ocean eyes," He says tenderly as he spins her around. He pulls her to him. "I've been ready to marry you since we were little. Ever since you became my imprint that dream got more real ... suddenly there was a house and some little boys with your eyes running around."
"Oh, now there's kids in this dream?"
"With the way you can't keep your hands off of me, I'd say its a high chance," Jacob chuckles when she slaps his arm. "But seriously. Even if there isn't any ... I know what I want. And it's always gonna be you. You until we're old. You in arms every night. You, you, and you, ocean eyes."
June stares into his eyes. She kisses him.
"What was that for?" Jacob asks against her lips.
"Nothing," Her voice cracks, her eyes well with tears.
Worry floods Jacob's eyes, "Baby? Hey, angel, what's wrong—"
June kisses him again. She kisses him while she cries, he holds her tight. She doesn't stop until she's not sobbing. She rests her forehead on his, "I love you ... so much."
"I love you," Jacob wipes her tears with the pad of his thumb.
She knows right then and there that if she had to love anyone before she died, she's glad it's Jacob. Jacob, who understands when she has those days where she just needs space. Jacob, who doesn't question when June will randomly cry because she's too stressed out and comforts her rather and try and understand. Jacob, who, doesn't get angry when June has those days where she's angry at the world for fucking her over and giving her life only to take it away. He knows what she needs without her telling him. He really truly is a bag of sunshine and June loves him.
"Let's go home," Juniper says, tugging his tie as she blinks her tears away. "The party isn't gonna end until late and I just ... I just really want to sleep. And I want you to hold me."
Jacob knows just how much June gets in her cuddly moods. He nods, kissing her temple. "Whatever you want, June."
Jacob says goodbye to their friends for her, Jared and the rest of the pack winking and hooting and hollering suggestive phrases. Billy hugs his son and nods over to June who goes to tell her parents she's gonna go home. Daphne hugs her tightly and Charlie says to make sure she checks in with Iris who's gonna take care of Willie for the week while they take their honeymoon in Lake Michigan. June says farewell to her parents and tells them to have a good time and sees the worry in her moms eyes when she says she's tired. June holds Jacob's hand the entire ride to his house.
"Let me take you a shower," Jacob whispers huskily as she complains of the hairspray in her hair. "You'll feel better afterwards."
June hesitates for a millisecond before she's nodding, stripping herself of her gown. "Please."
She leans back in the tub after he filled it with warm water. He takes his time washing her hair and her body and she feels the emotional exhaustion weighing in. After, he lends her one of his shirts and she's quick to take it off again. He takes his time getting her to cry out his name. She holds onto him with every stroke he gives to her, feeling him move within her, touch her, having him in the only way she can keep him forever. Before it would all fall apart. Before he was hers no longer.

JUNIPER WAS DONE WITH PARTIES FOR THE rest of her life. But that didn't mean everyone else was, apparently. Bella was graduating this year. Which mean people were going out of their damn minds and screaming freedom when none of them were even leaving their small town of no more than a thousand people. It sickened June, to think of all these young people who had so much life to give and were wasting away. But she had to remind herself — they weren't her. Not everyone had dreams of traveling or leaving their hometown. Sometimes people liked the idea of warmth and the comfort and security of having your family two doors down. Not everyone wanted to escape their lives, and sometimes it doesn't mean they're settling. They're living. June hated when she got on her superiority complex rampage and judged all those who she deemed weren't as much of an intellectual as she was.
Maybe everyone else in the world was okay and it was her that was wrong. She tapped her foot on the marble floor of the school cafeteria as listened to Jim Morrison's monologue in Ghost Song murmur in her ears through her headphones. She twirled her fork in her spaghetti. June felt a headphone be yanked down and she looked up, ready to yell at whomever it was, and when she saw it was Bella, she scowled.
"What?" She snapped.
Alice Cullen sat down besides Bella, her golden eyes brightening at June's gaze. "Hello, Juniper."
June watched Edward sat down next to his sister, holding Bella's hand as he bore his eyes into hers. "Hey, Alice, hows patrolling going?"
"Fun," Alice chirps. "I could do without the dog smell."
"Alice don't be, what people so frequently use to call an unpleasant woman," Edward says with a chuckle. "A bitch."
Alice's eyes flare at her brother, "And here I thought you were such the gentleman. Humph," She pouted but then turned her attention back to June. "Juniper knows I mean nothing by it — anyway, I've came here for a reason."
June and Bella's group of friend circled round the table as they noticed Alice speaking officials, some cheerleaders and some jocks and Lauren and Angela were there too. Alice, her confidence boosted by the attention, smiled widely and cleared her throat. She understood the importance of how much people wanted to listen when she spoke.
"I'm having a party," Alice's voice chimes.
Everyone around them stayed silent and stiff.
"What kind of party?" June holds her gaze.
At the queen bee's question, everyone relaxed and gave more attention to Alice's words, "A graduation party!" Alice explained. "Anyone's invited — at our house, Friday, eight o'clock."
"I've never seen your house?" Jessica speaks lowly.
"No ones ever seen their house," Eric states.
"Another party, Alice?" Edward sighs, running his hands through his bronze hair.
Alice nodded, "It'll be fun!"
"Yeah, that's what you said the last time," Bella reminded.
June giggles, "Bella you did have fun, though. She was literally pouring out with her emotions," She winked to Bella who gave her a small smile. "Get it?" She whispered. "Because you bled."
"We got it, June." Edward said dryly.
"Everyone's going," June declares, eyeing her friends who nod at her proclamation. "Great. See Edward? Fun."
Alice sits back in her chair with a agreement from everyone around them to attend, already inviting others as they type away on their phones. June goes to put her headphone back in when she's Alice's eyes shift and her forehead crease in a frown. June nudged Bella who immediately asked Angela is she needed help eating her fries, the nice girl immediately offering. Edward began talking with Jasper who came to sit at the sight of his distressed wife, Edward obviously reading Alice's thoughts to whatever vision she was receiving, judging by the dark look that casted over his features.
It's almost begun, hasn't it?
Edward meets her eyes. He doesn't speak. She can't read his mind. But his gaze tells her everything.
Yes.

JUNIPER SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME AT THE Cullen's house that she knew where the cups/plates were and all of Carlisle's fine wines and other alcoholic beverages. She even knew where there was a secret stash of old Mexican tequila that Emmett had gotten from his trip over there one time. So she thought, why not? Because her body was especially aching at the moment and her bruises were more sore than they had been in a while and June hadn't used her magic that much ( only when Quil broke Paul's hand and June had to heal him to make sure it didn't heal in the wrong place) but other than that, she had been good. She told Jacob and the guys that they were invited if they wanted and though Quil and Embry strongly disliked the idea of being in a house full of a vampires who's presence that forced them to phase, they much rather go wherever their Quileute Beta was going to be.
June was just about to down her third shot when she heard the front door opening. Shit. She put the shot glass in some random strangers hand, "Drink up homie."
The guy thanked her. She gave him a thumbs up.
Jacob was already coming her way, smiling. "Hey."
She let him envelope her in a hug, the only way his scent was on her. He kissed her neck, "Don't try to distract me with the fact that you're fucking late." She chided.
Embry and Quil came up to flank Jacob, "Sorry Junior, but Star was throwing another mood swing and trying to stab Jared with a screwdriver because he said she looked a little big but more beautiful." Quil snickered.
June rolled her eyes, "Didn't anyone get the memo? Don't talk about weight, food, or alcohol near a pregnant woman." She shook her head. "Anyway guys, there's food and drinks and—" While gesturing around, she caught sight of Alice coming down the stairs. June smiled at her. The woman was beautiful looking in the party dress she wore. For some reason, Alice paused by the stairs, gripping the railing as she tried to return a grin. June went to her, pulling away from Jacob's grasp. "I'll be right back." She says to him.
June felt the blood rush from her face as she looked to see Alice, her porcelain face was masked by horror, perfect lips parting in disbelief. Helpless, June tried to shake of the feeling, but it didn't go away. Suddenly, her palms start glowing and feeling warm.
She rushed over to Alice. "Alice, hey, talk to me—what did you see?" June asks rapidly.
Alice just looks to Dani, a flash of sorrow flooding her eyes. She blinks it away and answers the Mender. "The decisions' been made." Alice utters frightfully.
June furrows her brows in confusion but is taken away from looking at Alice when Jacob and the guys come up next to them. "What's going on?" Jacob asks gruffly, he too noticing the daunted look on Alice's face before looking to June.
Juniper looks back to Alice, reaching out to touch her cold hand. Her mind races as she figures out what Alice is trying to say. They could only mean one thing. The problem in Seattle—the newborns. Juniper had been meaning to tell Jacob how severe the problem was getting but never got around to it, and figured now was as good a time as any, especially if Alice was having a vision of them. But the doom she felt in her soul, June realized, could only connect with one thing. How convenient that she got the Mender magic stirring inside her at the exact time Alice got her vision. Dread filled June's bones.
"Those people ... they're not going to Seattle, are they?" June looks down, forcefully shutting her eyes as a breath leaves her mouth.
Alice ever so gently grips the young girls' hand, shaking her head. "No, June. They're coming here."

THE SUPERNATURAL CLUB MEMBERS (AND BELLA) gathered together in a room that was far away from the teenage partygoers in the rest of the Cullen's home.
It was farthest from any lingering ears and all the while, she could Jacob and the guys burning into her with their stares as they tried their best to figure out what made the blue-eyed Mender so jittery and her heart rate spike considerably. Jacob the most, was wondering restlessly what was making his mate practically drown in worry that hit him waves, causing him to feel his own sinking feeling. June rarely said she needed help; he knew that. He could see he wheels turning in her bright eyes with each passing second.
Finally, Carlisle and Jasper arrived into the room, Jasper immediately bounding to Alice who seemed almost as equally as jumpy as the young Quileute girl. Bella and Edward arrived a short time later, Edward immediately finding June's eyes and visibly relaxing. June didn't look at him. Without meaning to, Jacob noticed the way Edward kept his golden irises on his mate; narrowing his eyes, he protectively pulled June close to him. Edward snapped out of his gaze and looked at his sister.
"They'll be here in four days." Alice voices out meekly as Jasper holds her hand.
Alice keeps her eyes on June's, the visions the vampire girl saw were too morbid to even comprehend. But her visions were never wrong and Alice didn't know how she could possibly change the outcome, the course couldn't be altered. Not this time. Carlisle seemed to be the only one who notices Alice's mood and looks up to the Mender, his eyes also grim with worry. Edward catches the bits and pieces of what Alice envisioned, a sinking feeling over taking his body as he sees. He blinks a few times, trying to see deeper into the other outcomes Alice came up with, but all were the same. The future couldn't change. But the young girl wasn't as oblivious as most people in the room believed.
"This could turn into a bloodbath." Carlisle brings everyone out of their thought. He looked to Alice. "Who's behind it?"
Alice shakes her head, her lips pursing. "I didn't see anyone I recognized." She says with a look that turns somber. "Maybe one."
Edward furrows his brows, the face quickly familiar in his mind. "I know him, I remember his face. He's local. Riley Biers." Edward states with a shake of his head.
June perks at the name, "Riley?" She said in disbelief. "No, no, no it can't be. He can't be a vampire. He would never—"
"I doubt he turned on his own accord," Edward agreed with a somber look. "But it's him. I know his face well enough, it's posted all over town."
"OK, lets say it is him. He is a vampire," June paints out with a frantic tone. "Why would Riley be behind a group of baby vamps that are terrorizing people and murdering them? It's not him. You know his face but you don't know him, he basically grew up with me, Riley wouldn't do this."
"Maybe not," Alice said. "But whoever is, is staying out of the action. Letting him decide."
"They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision, then." Carlisle suddenly comes to the conclusion, he looks to all of them. "Either way, there's an army coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town and its people—"
"Hold on, everyone," Jacob growls slightly, looking around at the Cullen's before looking back to June. "What's going on? And what damn army?"
"The news babe. It's all real; but it isn't some gang or anything, your dad was right. It's newborns." June explains.
"Our kind." Carlisle adds for elaboration.
Jacob sighs heavily, pinching the bride of his nose. June clenches her jaw. She didn't think the problem would come to this. She hoped someone was just bloodthirsty crew of nomads and it wouldn't come further from Seattle. She hoped that the Volturi and all its graciousness, for as much as they loved the law of secrecy, that they would put a stop to the creatures that were creating so much attention.
June licked her lips as she crossing her arms over her chest. "But why are they coming here? Did you see?" She asks Alice.
Alice seemed to stiffen, her almond shaped eyes blinking rapidly as she looked to the floor. June's narrowed her eye at the gesture, looking over to Edward who looked just as uncomfortable. June felt her palms warm again, the familiar feeling of her powers rising through her body and shook her head, not wanting to feel it any more — it only happened whenever she was in danger, it seemed only more amplified that the danger was announced.
"They were passing around your scent, Juniper ..." Alice finally says breathlessly, causing the young girl to stiffen. "A black jacket ... along with Bella's shirt, a white one."
At the revelation, Juniper shut her eyes as she realized the jacket was hers; her favorite jacket, the leather one that Harry and Sue Clearwater had gotten her for Christmas two years ago, she wore it all the time but couldn't find it anywhere the past couple of weeks. But more importantly, the newborns were coming for her. This couldn't be a more fucked up time. June wasn't strong enough. She was dying already and these baby vamps coming weren't a means of her living or coming out of this alive. She shouldn't have to deal with this. She wonders if the spirits really want her to go out with a bang, if they want her to fight tooth and nail for this sacrifice that shows how much she believes in them. She looks to see Bella cradled in Edwards arms as he looks bloodthirsty for whomever would harm his fiancé.
Jacob seemed the most infuriated in the moment, his breathing turning erratic and the only thing that stopped him from phasing was Sam's voice in his ear along with the rest of the pack — he wouldn't be able to control himself if he phased and he'd end up hurting someone, June, when he should be focusing on protecting her at all costs.
So he calmed down, still shaking slightly. "They're after June? Alright, so those bloodsuckers are looking for a fight then ... easy." He said with a promise.
June intertwined her hand with his. He calmed a bit.
Carlisle only looked grim. "It means an ugly fight to protect the girls; lives might be lost." Carlisle stood and rubbed his face. "I'm sure if they had June's scent, they'd know she's not some mere mortal, she's able to fight back — and them still coming here means they could care less."
Jacob looked over to Juniper, who wouldn't meet his eyes but he could feel the worry from her, the small dread. He looked over to Embry and Quil who had moved protectively closer to June, the pack all agreeing in their mind that the Mender's safety was their top priority. The wolves nodded once they heard what Jacob was thinking.
"Then we're in." Jacob said firmly.
June seemed to snap out of her teen angst bubble and immediately shook her head. Her eyes were wide and her face frantic. "No. Not happening, no way in hell." She shook her head again. "None of you of fighting do you understand me? Guys!" She says, looking to Quil and Embry for help but they also gave her looks of finality.
Jacob took June's face in his large hands and looked into her eyes. "I'm not asking for permission, ocean eyes." He says softly.
June begins to feel her eyes water up, all the horrible possibilities rushing into her brain. She wouldn't lose him. Not after all she had did to ensure he'd live after she would die. She could almost see it now ... her death. She knew this decision was a death sentence written without paper and ink. She wouldn't lose Jacob.
"Puppy, no, please ..." June tried to think of something to say, but she looked back at Edward and gave him a pleading look. "Edward, tell him. Tell him it's too dangerous, tell him that those vampires are strong—"
Edward seemed to contemplate his next words, looking to Bella before going over to June. "It's means more protection for you and your family." He says softly, his eyes flickering to Jacob for a few seconds.
June huffed in indignation, then interrupted by Carlisle. "Jacob. Do you believe Sam would agree to an ... understanding?" He asks, despite June's curses of scorn.
Jacob immediately nods. "If the towns' in danger, that means our own is too." He kisses his girlfriends' temple despite her continued protest in their alliance. "Besides, the Mender is sacred to the pack."
"Pack protect her." Quil said, Embry nodding in agreement.
"Jasper?" Carlisle turns to his adopted son for council.
Jasper looks down to June's tear stricken face and then them back to the wolves who are so devoted to the young girl. "They'll give the numbers, that's for sure." He assures to Carlisle. "Newborns wouldn't even know they exist. Gives us an edge."
Carlisle rubs his hands together, looking to everyone in the room. "We'll red to coordinate right away."
June shakes her head again, pulling from Jacob's hold. "Carlisle, they're my pack! The newborns will kill them." She says desperately. "It's my job to heal them but I can't break the laws of nature to bring them back, my friends pregnant, Jared can't leave her to fight, Sam's my cousin and Leah's my best friend. Seth's only thirteen, you can't ask this of them—"
Carlisle gives her a somber expression, hearing the brokenness in her voice. He brushes a cold finger on her cheek. "We will all need some training." He says.
"Four days isn't nearly enough." Bella finally speaks up, on June's side.
Their protested are unheard as the rest begin to prepare for the battle. "Fighting newborns requires knowledge Jasper has." Carlisle speaks up again, as June and Bella are pulled to side of their significant other. Carlisle looks to the wolves. "You're welcome to join us."
Jacob nods once, his eyes dark. "Name the time and place." He confirms.
June yanks out of his hold again, giving everyone a cold look. Jacob gives her a sad look at the loss of skin contact that comforts him and reaches out for her but she puts up a hand to stop them.
"If any of you get hurt ..." June chokes out, her cheeks stained with tears. "Whatever. Fight. It's not like any of you care what I think anyway." She snaps, wiping her tears before storming out of the room, slamming the door behind her, breaking the doorknob.
