5 years later

Riele's Pov
Her looks,her hobbies,her walking steps and most especially the way she talks makes me keep regretting the fact that she's a spitting image of him.I watched her through the dressing mirror as I applied my lipstick gently on my lips she slept so peacefully,looking so innocent and beautiful. Her curls covered her face and her little body wrapped up in my white blanket.

Everytime I look at her,I remembered him and remembering him always makes my heart shatter,it makes me feel sad.I wish I never overreacted,I wish I gave him a second chance at least my baby would have seen her father.Ever since that disaster I feel so guilty to the extend that  I still haven't dated anyone.
I looked around my enormous room for the last time making sure that I'm not forgetting anything that I would be needing for my trip.I went closer to the bed and kissed Karla goodbye on her forehead.I tucked her in her blanket and exited my room.
I went downstairs, told her nanny Karla's schedule and then I went back to my room.Since the cab wasn't ready it wouldn't hurt to see my baby one more time or would it ? I sat on the bed and talked to her like she could hear  me from her dream.Her snores and her breathing pace was so cute to listen to.

Riele: Momma's gonna be back in a few days time ok.Be a good girl pumpkin.

Her snores increased. Oh boy,she must be really tired from the park today.I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I brought it out and found out it was a text message from the taxi driver.Great!He was here.I snuggled with my baby one last time and hurried back downstairs.

Riele:Don't forget to..
I said making eye contacts with the nanny.
Nanny:Make sure she doesn't stay up late and  she doesn't have ice cream and  candies for dinner.Blaa.Blaa.Blaa..I know all that.Now go!Those celebrities would be needing your fabulous designs.

I smiled sheepishly

Riele:Thank you so much!You can always call me if any thing goes wrong

She gave a forced smile

I exited the house and entered the cab.It always hurt each time I have to leave Karla and go work.The little time I get to spend with her I always make sure we have the best time playing together,going shopping,having tea parties with her or even the movies. I don't want to look like a bad mom

Jace's Pov
I looked at the injuries on my forehead,the deep cuts on my hand  and tried dressing them even though it hurts so much. I almost got killed today because some guys on the streets claimed that I denied to be called some guy named Jace Norman.Who the heck is Jace Norman,I'm Dylan Johnson.I kept on arguing with them so they got angry, stole my wallet,phone and the few a things I bought from the grocery store.While struggling with them they gave me all this cuts and injuries I'm trying to dress right now.

This isn't the first time I'm being attacked which us why Pat restricted me from going outside alone at day time to avoid this.She is going to be so mad at me when she finds out.She instructed me to always stay indoors but some stuffs needed to be replaced. I dressed my wounds really fast and laid in bed staring into space unable to sleep.

I looked at a picture of her which was on  the night stand and I smiled knowing how lucky I was.She was mine,she was really mine  and she makes me happy considering the fact that I'm an orphan. She is my happy place and I love her so much.

Pat:Dylan!!I'm home
Jace:Yeah!Hon I'm in the room.

I hear footsteps and the door opening.
Jace:Hey sweetie

I could see her grinning

Pat: How's your day been(She said brushing his cheek with her hands)
Jace:Good but now it's better with you being here.
Pat:Awwn

The following day.

Riele's Pov
I arrived at San Diego quite early in the morning and it was fucking cold.That flight was heaven.I got a cab and went straight to the hotel booked for me.I got into my room and it looked big as always.I pulled off my boots and jumped on the king size bed.The bed was also a massage bed when I turned it on.This was what I needed right now.

Riele:Finally!!This f..eels.. so go..od to be away from responsibilities.No screa.,..ming Karla.No cra...zy paren..ts.No stup...id neighb..ors.

Then my phone vibrates

Like dude.Why do I have so many responsibilities on my head.I haven't even been away for up to 24 hours.So, what's wrong

Phone conversation

Speaker:Hey,Miss Downs we need you here right now
Riele:And you are?
Speaker:Sara,the one in charge of the designs for th..
Riele:Oh it's you.I will be right there in a few minutes
Sara:No need to bother,Just stay where you are someone is coming to pick you up.

Damn!Life is so easy here

At the  office

After three hours

Riele: What's next?
I asked Sara who was sitting right beside me.



Sara:Well you have a meeting in the next one hour with Mr Michael Kors for a collaboration.You know they make wonderful designs right?

I just nodded

Sara:I'm glad you know they do.So he was thinking if we could add our winter collection to their winter collection designs,it would boast not only our profit but our name will go higher in the fashion industry.

Riele:Noted Sara, but I want you to take a break.
Her eyes widened as I took the book from her.
Riele:We have been working for three hours now.C'mon order coffee or something for the two of us.(Then she left)

I was flipping through my lastest designs waiting for my coffee when my phone rang.Who could it be?I looked at it and found out it was Karla's nanny.What's wrong, I haven't even been away for a day



Riele:Hey! What's wrong?
Nanny: It's Karla,She refused to eat anything and she has been locked in her room ever since.
Riele:Well,maybe she isn't  just hungry
Nanny:I'm pretty sure she is Ma'am,she has also refused to watch her favourite cartoon when it came on and has been crying since she woke up.I tried to calm her down but she wouldn't listen.
Riele:Oh My Goddness.Move the phone to her ,let me speak to her.Pls
Nanny:Ok Ma'am.
I hear footsteps and bangs,maybe  she was knocking on Karla's room.
Nanny:Open this door right now Karla your mother wanna speak to you!!
Riele: Don't be too hard on her.Pls
Karla:Noo!!I wanna see her
I heard the sound of her cries and I grew worried.
Nanny:Karla,Open the door now
Karla: Fine(Karla opens the door and Nanny gives the phone to Karla)
Riele: Pumpkin, what's wrong?
Karla:I wa..nt you to come h..hom ..e and stay wit..h me
I could hear her sniffing,she really has been crying
Riele:Baby,  pls don't cry you know Mama has to work
Karla:Noo!!(She started crying again)
Riele:Ssshhh!!Calm down,just calm down pumpkin.Please don't cry
I heard her stop crying so I continued
Riele:Baby, why don't you want Mummy to work
Karla: Beca.. use, Ma..ma you al..way..s wor..k.
Riele: Sweetie if I don't work there wouldn't be food for you to eat,no TV and no outings, pumpkin.
Karla:But. .Can't you be like Mia's mum that stays at home with her and her brothers and doesn't go anyw.ere.
Riele:No baby,Mama has to work.I would be home soon.I promise now have you completed your project
Karla:Yes Mummy.Grandma helped me
Riele:Grandma!!
Karla: Yeap,she came over and she also brought ice cream for me.Only me.
Riele:Your favourite?
Karla:Yes strawberry is my favourite.

I could hear how excited she was,I was so glad that I could get her happy again.

Riele:Well don't take too much of it.Ok?
Karla:Yes Mummy. Too much of icecream would make me ugly
Riele:What!!
I bursted out into laughter. I wish I could record moments like this
Riele:Who told you that
Karla:Uhmm. Uncle Sean did.

The door opened and my client came back with coffee in a tray. Thank Goodness.

Riele:Ok Princess,Make sure you eat something,no too much ice cream and go to bed early.Mama has to work.I would call you later. Byee Baby
Karla:Bye Mummy.Lave you(She chuckled)
Riele: It's pronounced love pumpkin and Yes I Love you too.
