[Chapter 2] Wednesday Adams

"This is so stupid, there's nothing up there." Johnny protested. Currently the trio were standing outside a all-girls Catholic school, ST. Catherines Home For Troubled Girls read in stone one the front of the massive; castle like building. The whole reason the boys were even there was because of some older boys in their class, apparently they told Diego that there were "ancient artifacts" in the attic of the school worth a lot. The kids said something about a bow and arrow or something, so here they were to check it out, much to Johnny's dismay.

"Hey, you never know! Maybe Diegos right and there is some cool stuff up there!" Gyro spoke trying to be the optimist in the group. Even though Gyro himself highly doubted there was anything up there, it at least would be a cool adventure!

"Exactly!" Diego gloated loudly, taking this idea as his own.

"Well if this is SUCH a good plan, how are we gonna get inside genius?" Johnny said sarcastically.

The other two boys fell silent, more so Diego then Gyro, as the reality of his stupidity set in. The two stayed quiet for awhile while they thought of a way to get in without being caught. A while later Diego spoke up.

"I got it. We'll just walk in! Their bell system is similar to ours so we can just walk in after the next bell!" Diego said proudly. Gyro looked pleased and Johnny look more annoyed then he was before that his plan had backfired.

"But when's the next bell?"

"It should be in a few minutes-" Diego was cut off by the sound of a distant high pitched sound coming from inside the school.

The boys look at each other as faint shuffling is heard on the other side of the wall.

"Well that's convenient!" Gyro smiled.

"Let's just give up we'll never find it!" Johnny complained after walking up the 4 flights of stairs. The trio was most definitely lost. When Diego had proposed the plan to find the artifacts he wasn't aware of how big the school really was.

"Come on Joestar, we're close, I can feel it."

Johnny loudly groaned as he continued to, loudly, stomp down the hallway.

Gyro, sensing his other friend discomfort, decided to step in, "I think Johnny right,"

"Of course you do."

"What's that supposed to mean, Brando?"

"What do you think I mean, Joestar."

"Guys calm down." Gyro sighed as his two friends continued to bicker, completely ignoring him.

While the other two were distracted Gyro heard faint foot steps coming down the stairs. He panicked, they were screwed. They couldn't even pretend to be students since it was an 'all girls' school and they didn't have the uniform.

Thinking fast, Gyro grabbed the two shorter boys and hid behind some lockers.

"What the fuc-"

"SHH."

The boys stayed quiet as they heard the foot steps get louder.

Diego, who was closest to the figure, took a look out of his hiding spot to see who this person was, out of curiosity.

He was dumbfounded.

The figure was a girl, unsurprisingly, and she was beautiful (According to Diego).

She had straight, mid shoulder length brown hair, she was slightly taller then Diego, and although Diego only got a glimpse of her face while she was heading towards a locked stairway, he was confident she had beautiful green eyes.

The blonde was starstruck.

"Uhh, Diego, you good?"

"Is he dead?" Johnny poked at his sides but the blonde wouldn't move.

"I think I'm in love."

The others looked at each other in confused and slightly in shock

"Dude, what actual the fuck are you talking about-"

"Oh shit! I think I see the attic staircase!" Gyro rushed pass the two towards the previously locked stairwell.

The shuffling of boxes, some falling vases, and loud whisper shouting. It was total chaos. The attic was, expectedly, huge. It was an open plan and there were boxes everywhere, it was almost impossible to find anything with the amount of stuff and how unwilling Johnny was with all this.

"You know," Diego paused, out of breath. "This would be a lot more fun if you helped."

Johnny looked up from his phone with a blank stare before stating, "Yeah. Probably." and looking back at his phone.

"So are you gonna?" Diego said through gritted teeth.

Johnny shrugged, "No, I don't think so."

"Ok, that's it-"

"No. Diego, do not punch him."

The boys bickered while Gyro had to physically hold back Diego from trying killing Johnny.

Unbeknownst to the boys, they weren't alone in the attic.

Harper was a weird girl. Unlike her sister Erina, who took more after their mother, she took after their father. She was introverted, blunt, and slightly standoff-ish. She was bullied a lot. Some girls heard her little sister call her HP and gave her the nickname 'Hot Pants', Harper surprisingly didn't mind that one, she actually quite liked it. Harper often retreated to the attic for comfort. She gained access by bribing the pastors daughter, the only girl who didn't seem to tease HP with that nickname.

Of course she saw the boys while walking down the hallway, who couldn't? They were 3 boys loudly shh-ing each other in an 'all girls' private school, it was obvious to say the least.

But she wasn't expecting them to follow her up to the attic.

The sound of the door opening and the boys arguing definitely spooked her. She wondered if she should introduce herself to them. I mean if Harper couldn't make any friends in her school then she could at least try with these guys.

She left her makeshift corner of boxes as quietly as she could.  Of course she fucked up a little by tripping over something she thinks was an arrow? But thankfully the boys were to distracted with themselves to notice.

"Give me one good reason not punch you in your nose right now" the one with a thick cockney accent said through gritted teeth.

"Easy," the tallest one cockily replied. "Your short ass can barely reach."

The next thing she heard was a barrage of loud cuss words and sudden movements that startled her.

This is when the brown haired girl finally decided to speak up.

"Are you guys suppose to be in here?"

Gyro, Diego, and Johnny froze in their spots, Gyro currently being attacked by Diego and Johnny trying to pry him off. The three separated quickly and looked down, embarrassed.

Diego was the first to look up at her, even more mesmerized now that she was closer. Her green eyes were even more beautiful when she was standing five feet away, when she spoke Diego could see the hint of braces between her lips, and her straight brown hair covered her forehead. Her face was peppered with light freckles, he could see the girl in her uniform more closely now, it was a blue plaid dress with a white long-sleeve button up underneath. It was simple outfit but somehow Diego was starstruck by her.

Johnny finally broke the silence. "Um, I don't think you're supposed to be up here either?"

Gyro's previous embarrassment was seemingly gone as Johnny pointed out that the attic was typically off limits to students.

"Yeah what are you doing up here? I guess," the tall Italian put emphasis on the word 'guess'. "If we could keep this between just us we won't snitch to your creepy ass headmaster."

Harper thought of headmaster and a small shiver went down her spine. (Of course she didn't let them see how scared she was of him.) "I wasn't gonna tell on you guys." she said with a straight face, not blinking, staring into Gyro's eyes.

Diego finally spoke to her. "Wait, so why are you up here?"

"I like to practice my violin in peace up here."

"Can't they hear it from downstairs?"

"Not really since the music room is directly below and I only come here on break." she replied.

"Then why don't you just play down there?" Gyro asked.

Harper looked down at her shoes. To be honest, Gyro felt a little bad even when Diego slapped him on the shoulder. He quickly changed the subject.

"We, um, didn't get your name?" the Italian said with a small smile

Harper looked up. "Hot Pants. You?"

...

"What kinda name is Hot Pants?"

"Johnny!" Diego walked over to Hot Pants and stood next to her. "Don't be rude to our new friend!"

Gyro laughed and gestured to the girl. "Yeah Johnny! You have no room to talk with your boring ass name."

The boys went back and forth with each other, playfully bickering and laughing.

Hot Pants looked at the boys, a small smile slowly crept up on her face. Seemingly the first of the day.

What Hot Pants didn't know was that those boys, those dumb, naive, loudmouth pre teens, would be some of the most important people in her life.
