Daithi POV:

The house was silent, still, tranquil.
Not a noise was heard.
I was just sleeping, my breaths steady and even.
Why wasn't I asleep yet?
How come I can't sleep?

Then a familiar noise rushed to my ears.

Kitten paws.
Then human footsteps.
A window was quietly opened and then closed.

I jumped out of bed, one thing particularly popping into my mind.

Neko.

I rushed to the front door as quietly as I can, tip-toeing past a sleeping Hannah and Nathan in the living room.

I opened the door and stepped out.
Where would she be?

Then I paused.
She's an assassin, how the hell am I supposed to even catch up with her?!

I ran to the backyard and stopped, the orange kitten coming into view.

Then it shifted, leaving Neko pulling back her lilac hair, sitting down on a stump in the middle of Nicole's yard.

I silently walked closer to her.

Then I stopped, hesitant.

"I can hear you, you know. I am a feline, Daithi." She turned around to me, her eyes sparkling.
I walked up to her, sitting down on the soft, moist grass next to her.

"What are you doing out here?" I asked her.
She looked at me.
"I have to leave, Nogla. My work is done."
I shook my head.
"No, don't leave, stay with us."
I whispered, grabbing her hand.
She pulled away.
"I have to, Daithi. I left my family behind, they have not the slightest clue where I am. They must be worried sick."
"Neko," I begged.
"Please stay, you're my best friend. I can't lose you, not after all you've done for me." I stood up.
She sighed.

Neko POV:

"I'm sorry." I told him.
I'd made up with Delilah earlier, and she'd thanked me for saving her.

How did I save her?
I saved her from herself.
We're the most destructive people to our own bodies.

Now that everything was okay, my work was done, and I'd return to my family by dawn.
That is, if Daithi would let me leave already.

I stood up and grabbed the satchel I had hidden in my cathouse outside.
I grabbed the book from inside it and put it into Nogla's hands.

"When you get a chance to, show them all this. Tell them the pages I want them to look at are marked in the front." I said, smiling, a tear running down my cheek.
Nogla bit his lip and looked down and the book.
Then he opened his arms and hugged me, crying into my shirt.
I patted his back and closed my eyes.

I pulled back and gave him a kiss on the head.
"Goodbye Daithi. Stay humble. Okay?"

He nodded.
"Take care, Neko. I love you."

Daithi POV:

"I love you too, my dear friend." She said.

With a tucking of the bag on her back, she shifted and meowed, jumping onto the fence.

I smiled and waved at her, and she stood on her hind legs and put up a single paw as well.

"Until another time." I said, as she disappeared over the pinewood fence.

I sat there, in an abandoned cat's house, for what seemed like hours.
I flipped through that book and smiled at what was inside.

I couldn't wait to show Delilah.

~ 9:30 AM

"Delilah, Delilah." I ran through the house.
I slipped on the wooden floor and fell beside the table.
I laughed and groaned in pain.
Then I stood back up and ran again, slipping down a few stairs in the process and continuing to her room.

I knocked on the door and Brian opened, looking at me, cluelessly.

"I have a present." I said.
He stepped back to let me in.
Delilah was standing beside the nightstand, brushing her hair.

"Delilah." I said.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Neko gave me this. She wanted me to show it to you. She left last night." I said.
I held the book out to her and she opened out her hands.
She took it and sat down on the bed, flipping open the cover.

Delilah POV:

I didn't realize what the book was until I flipped it open.

Then my breath rushed out of my lungs all at once, and I almost passed out.

My yearbook.

Inside the cover was a sticky note with page numbers written on it.

I soon realized this wasn't just one yearbook, but several yearbooks in one.

Page 27.

Z appeared behind me, I could sense her.

As if she knew.

Aiden Valle.

I covered my mouth with my hands and soon felt the tears pouring.

This was before we left.
Right after Sam was tooken away.

His baby face was so happy, so cheerful.
Not a worry in the world.
I miss that little boy.
My beautiful baby brother.

A picture of me...
With a fake smile.
Not too much to look at.
Brian smiled at it though.

Page 46.

A picture of a young Neko, her eyes bright and green, her hair dyed a brown color to hide the inhumanly hair color.
Normal girls don't have pink-purple hair.
You could barely see her roots.
All this time I'd thought she was normal.
After all those years, she seemed happy to graduate - something we never got to do - and get to run free with that wild hair color of hers.
She was mildly popular in high school and she was a small bit stuck up, but she was different now.
She was my friend.
I smiled at that picture.

Then the tears came back as I accidentally saw a familiar name on page 52.

Samantha Z Valle.

There was no picture of a smiling Sam.

There was nothing.

I coughed and choked on my own saliva, feeling Z come back behind me.
"Shh, I'm here, everything is okay now." She said, kneeling down and wrapping her arms around me.

I wiped the tears away and went to page 64, where I saw a picture of Keegan and Hannah in the class clown section.

I giggled and touched the picture.

I turned back to page 59, where I got to see a picture of a baby Nathan.

Then I paused.

Can I get another chance to see his face one more time?

I flipped towards my picture.
His wouldn't be too far from there.
I then landed on his name.

Justin
Justin.

His face was happy, his mouth turned in a smirk.

I screamed and threw the book at the wall.
"Shh, Delilah." Sam turned me towards her.

"THIS IS ALL HIS FAULT!" I cried into her chest. She sighed.

Then a loud bang rang out.

I jumped in Sam's arms.

"DELILAH! WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?!" A familiar voice yelled.

Then Evan was in the room.

"Delilah, Z, downstairs, now. Keegan is here."
