As the end credits of My Neighbor Totoro rolled, Jaehyun glanced down and smiled softly. Woonhak had drifted off sometime during the final scenes, his head nestled against Jaehyun's chest. His soft brown hair fanned out slightly, and his chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm. For a moment, Jaehyun just watched him, his fingers instinctively threading through Woonhak's now dry hair in gentle, comforting strokes. There was something so peaceful and fragile about the way the boy slept, as if this moment of calm was a rare treasure.

But as much as Jaehyun wanted to let him sleep, he couldn't leave Woonhak in this position indefinitely. He needed to ask if the younger wanted to spend the night or if he needed to go home. Maybe Woonhak wouldn't be comfortable staying over, or maybe he couldn't. The thought of sending him back out into the night, though, sent a pang of worry through Jaehyun.

After a moment of hesitation, he leaned in close and whispered softly into Woonhak's ear. "Woonhak? Wake up."

He gently shook Woonhak's shoulder. The boy stirred slightly, a sleepy hum escaping his lips. His eyes fluttered open, unfocused and heavy with drowsiness.

"Huh?" Woonhak yawned, his voice small and incredibly tired.

Jaehyun's heart melted at the sight, an involuntary smile curling at his lips. How could someone be this cute?

"Woonie?" Jaehyun asked gently.

"Hm?" Woonhak murmured, rubbing his eyes with the sleeves of Jaehyun's oversized hoodie.

"Uh," Jaehyun began, his voice careful, "do you want to go back home or... stay here for the night? It's already pretty late. But if you can't stay or if you're not comfortable, that's okay! I can walk you home, too, if you want."

Woonhak shook his head slowly, his hands gripping onto Jaehyun's hoodie. "No... if it's really okay, I'd like to- to stay..."

Jaehyun's heart swelled with relief and joy. His smile widened. "Of course, it's okay! I'm glad you wanna stay." He scratched the back of his neck and added, "My bed is really big, so we'd both fit just fine-but if you'd rather have your own space, we also have a guest room."

Woonhak's gaze dropped to his hands, his fingers fiddling with the hem of Jaehyun's hoodie. His voice was barely a whisper when he said, "If it's okay... I don't want to sleep alone."

Jaehyun's smile softened. "Then you won't have to," he reassured him. "Come on, let's go to my room. You look exhausted, and honestly, I'm pretty tired, too. Let's get some sleep."

Woonhak nodded, and Jaehyun stood, taking Woonhak's hand in his own to help him up. They made their way upstairs, the warmth of their joined hands a silent comfort.

In Jaehyun's room, the soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a gentle light over the walls. They climbed onto the bed, the mattress dipping slightly under their weight. Jaehyun pulled the blankets over them both, the warmth instantly soothing.

For a moment, they lay in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. The only sounds were the quiet patter of rain against the window and the distant hum of the house settling for the night.

Jaehyun felt Woonhak shift beside him, and then, with a shy movement, the boy slid closer, nestling his face into Jaehyun's shoulder. The simple gesture sent a rush of warmth through Jaehyun's chest. He turned toward Woonhak, wrapping an arm gently around the younger boy's waist, pulling him close until there was almost no space left between them.

A sense of peace and safety settled over them, the kind that made the world outside feel distant and unimportant.

"Sleep well, Woonie," Jaehyun whispered, his fingers threading softly through Woonhak's hair one last time.

"You too, Hyung," Woonhak mumbled, his voice thick with sleep, already drifting away.

Jaehyun's heart gave a happy, fluttering beat. A contented smile spread across his face as he closed his eyes, the warmth of Woonhak against him a comforting presence.

He called me Hyung...
