— epilogue —

   the laughter in the room quieted down when someone suddenly entered. mark's back faced the direction in which everyone was staring, so he quickly turned his head when he notied the worried expressions on the others' faces.

   the sight infront him was an adorable donghyuck wearing mark's clothes that were too big on him, while hugging the teddy bear that mark recently got him for their one year anniversary. "i thought you were sleeping, what's wrong baby?" mark asked in a soft voice, making some of the other members who had been with him in the living room coo at the scene playing out before them.

   donghyuck looked up and mark frowned, heart hurting at the wet tears evident on donghyuck's cheeks. "come here," he patted the space next to him on the sofa. donghyuck had been getting nightmares a lot recently and it really made mark upset when his boyfriend felt scared like that. the younger listened, but mark saw that their seating wasn't enough for him so he pulled donghyuck to his lap instead. he cupped donghyuck's cheeks and placed soft kisses all over his face.

   while doyoung (who was currently present) would usually ban pda and tell them to go somewhere else, he couldn't find it in his heart to tell them. instead, he watched unintentionally wearing a fond smile on his face.

   chenle and jisung sat to his left, giggling about something, while johnny and ten conversed about something across the couch from him in english. both occasionally taking a break in the middle of a sentence to sip a bit of americano. just when doyoung was starting to feel lonely, taeyong walked in with jaehyun clinging onto him from behind. the taller male had his arms wrapped around taeyong's waist with his head burried in the back of his neck.

   ever since jaehyun and taeyong came out as the only other official couple in nct, they seemed to have a harder time hiding their affection than markhyuck.

   "stop," taeyong giggled, swatting at jaehyun's shameless hands. that was the last straw for doyoung. "for fuck's sake!" he threw his hands up helplessly, taking it to himself to leave the room.

   "what's with him?" johnny asked, everyone else seemed to be as confused as he was. "i dunno," ten shrugged and then the rest of the room went back to whatever they had been doing up until then.

   donghyuck eventually fell asleep in mark's lap and the older carried them to bed a little while later, continuing to hug the teddy bear in his arms.

this is the end of the book, was it a weird ending? i've never finished a book before so i didn't know how i should've written it. i honestly didn't think i would finish this either, but i'm so glad i did and i'm beyond grateful for all the love and support this book has gotten! thank you for 10k reads and 500+ votes. even though i didn't respond all the time, i read every single comment and you guys really make my day.
