Broken and Fixed
Firefox stopped working. Matthias left the garage in a panic and notified the police while Google worked like a dog to erase all of the evidence. He cleaned up all the oil and collected Firefox's remains into a bodybag, carrying it to the dump.
It was late, very late. And it was raining. Google emptied out the bodybag, pausing to wipe the rain from his brow. He had to leave soon, lest he rust over. And he couldn't be seen near the body, either.
Firefox's remains laid at the dump for who knows how long, until a scientist living there had discovered her scraps in a heap. "Incredible," she mused, collecting the parts and bringing them back to her lab.
She analyzed her new findings, and found out that this android was named Mozilla Firefox. A full-body investigation gave her a list of parts she needed to repair it. After a series of tried-and-failed experiments, the scientist finally managed to piece back together and even upgrade Firefox a little.
She pressed the power button on Mozilla's temple, causing the android to jerk awake in a panic attack.
"No! Please! Stop attacking me, don't you..."
Mozilla Firefox was confused. Where was she? How did she get here? The robot decided to observe her new surroundings.
Firefox glanced over to one side, her eyes shining with a questioning glint as a warm, brown gaze stared back at her. In front of her was a tall woman, with dark brown hair tied back in a high ponytail, and glasses adorning her face that she didn't notice at first glance. Upon further examination she noticed the woman was wearing a lab coat that had several brightly colored pins with... Unfamiliar imagery on them.
"Are you alright?" inquired the woman.
Mozilla was burning with questions. "Who are you? Where am I? How did I get here? What happened to me? Where's Chrome?" She had no idea what she'd been through, but she did know two things:
Google was still out there.
And she needed to stop him.
