Behind the Scenes: Extras

To celebrate book two coming to an end, I thought it'd be fun to share with you guys some fun little extras like facts about the series, ideas I had scrapped or scenes I had deleted all together. Mind you, this will only entail details from book 1 and 2 and very little about book 3 as obviously I don't want to give anything away when it comes to the final book. This is kind of hard to explain so, please try to follow along.

1) Despite being one of the most (if not than the most) well known Student x Teacher MarkiplierxReader, the idea did not originate from me like a lot of people think. Although, I have concluded (and forgive me if it seems I'm trying to toot my own horn) most of the SxT MarkiplierxReaders currently available were inspired by TMF. I say this because since the first book I've seen at least a dozen, if not more Markiplier SxT stories arise. Several of which gave me a shoutout or thanked me for the inspiration right in the book. However, the idea of Teasing Mr. Fischbach came to light after having read a short smut series by another author who has a 3 part series called 'Mr. Fischbach.'

After reading this series I had the idea to make my own 3 part miniseries of Mark being a teacher and that was the beginning of Teasing Mr. Fischbach. After a staggering numbers of requests and even demands to make the mini series a whole story, I finally caved and TMF was born. I had taken the first three parts from my smut book, copied them over to the full book and just continued to write. This however did cause confusion among some readers who thought I had plagurised another author's work and did not realize both books were written by me.

It ended up working out to both of our benefits because Natalie's short series and mine were both very different, and if not for her story which unfortunately has been unpublished, TMF would not exist.

2) Up until chapter six of book one, I really had no idea what the plot of the story was going to be. However, I did have an idea of what it was going to be while writing chapter four and five and in fact it was going to be extremely different.

If you have read book one than you should remember the calculus teacher, Melissa or Miss. Felton. Well at the time of writing chapter five, the idea was that Mark and Melissa were going to be exclusive. Mark and Melissa would have been seeing each other for some time, and driven by sheer desire to cave to his overwhelming fantasy of screwing a young, hot student, Mark gives way to your advances despite having a girlfriend.

You and Mark would have then been having your affair for quite some time, and after realizing you had fallen for him but knowing you have no chance with him romantically so long as he had a girlfriend, you would have spent a majority of the book trying to break them up. This included doing such things as playing mind games with Ms. Felton. For example: Sneaking the green silk panties you had worn for Mark the previous night into Ms. Felton's desk drawer the next day with a note saying something like 'Did you know Mr. Fischbach's  favourite colour is green?'

Ultimately the idea was scrapped for several reasons. One, I didn't like the idea of painting the reader in such a twisted, sadistic lighting. I wanted to make the main character at least somewhat relateable, and let's face it-- as bold as the main character is... That's going a little overboard and not many of my readers (if any) could relate to her personality, attitude or actions if I made her so manipulative. Not only that but, I'd feel so much worse about the character I developed for Mark. Two, it seemed framiliar. I was pretty sure I had seen a plot that was similar in a movie. Finally three, I wasn't sure how the story could end if I went with that idea.

Thank god I scrapped the idea because had I went with my original intention, I wouldn't be so in love with the book and you, as the reader, probably wouldn't have been either. Of course, it sure would have been an interesting read.

3) There was never intended to be a sequel never mind several sequels.

The idea to do a second book was requested several times before I had made the final decision to do it. However, I only decided to do it after speaking to my old co-author about ideas other than the idea I had for the first book, and she convinced me that I should do a sequel. So I started book 2, before really consider the plot line but thankfully I struck with an idea I felt was brilliant!

So before starting book 2, the original plan was going to be that you end up pregnant (you and Mark never use protection and birthcontrol isn't 100% effective anyway.) Completely outraged, that is why you got thrown out of the house by your parents and were forced to move in with Mark. The remainder of the book was also going to entail being a teenage mother struggling to keep up with her education while trying to manage day to day life, pregnancy and eventually raising a child.

However shit gets more intense when
While you and Mark are out shopping, you are off in one isle, Mark is in another. He runs into Melissa, makes small talk and tells her he started teaching again at McMaster Secondary School. Unknowning of who Mark was talking to, you and your pregnant belly join his side and you were shocked to see Miss. Felton who was just as equally as shocked to see you. Nothing is said in the moment but, Melissa had her suspicions and takes action the next day when she informs your school principal of her theory, who then warns the principal of Mark's new school. Mark would be suspended, the school board would get involved and a full investigation launched. Ergo, not only are you a struggling pregnant teenager but, Mark faces losing his job for good.

It would have ended as 'feel good' as possible by Mark and you coming to the realization that as long as you have each other, you can face anything. That  would  have left very little room for a third book.

However obviously, that was scrapped too. I changed the plot line completely before the second book even started.

4) The plot for book three actually came together when discussing the series with pinktardis11 during a nine hour skype call. She had jokingly said one simple thing and it was like opening a floodgate. I immediately got all these ideas, jotted them down and then devised an organized plan of action which is the current story line to book three.

5) The idea of doing TMF in Mark's pov came to light during the same nine hour skype call with Dani. We were discussing her SxT MarkiplierxReader and I realized how much I wish I could have added to the first book. How much I wished I could have gone more in depth, produced more filler and whatnot.

That is still the plan. However not only will we see certain events in Mark's book that we do not see in the three main series books, but it will retell certain events of the main series from his perspective as well as have a very different ending than how I plan to end book three.

6) The idea for the ending to book one was something slightly different. It was simply going to be Mark confessing that he realized he loves you... However he doesn't quit his job nor write the poem. However after hearing 'What You Mean to Me' I knew I had an ending I absolutely adored.

7) In chapter seven of the first book, there was going to be a scene where you and Mark had phone sex. That's why that whole dirty talk scene was included however, I decided against this when I realized I had no real idea how to do a phone sex scene and ergo the chapter ended without phone sex.

8) In chapter four of book one when Mark takes your phone, there wasn't a planned detention scene at the time. The reason he had taken your phone was so he could save his number in your phone during class and you would have retrieved it at the end of the chapter having seen what he did.

The detention chapter was something I came up with last minuet, and let's face it-- it was a fun chapter. Also since Mark didn't get to put his number in your phone in chapter four, that's why he begs for your number in chapter six.

9) In the first book, your grade twelve english class is reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I understand most of us read that book a lot sooner than twelfth grade however, at the time of writing book one, I myself was currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird in my spare time which is why I chose that book.

10) The only reason Mark is depicted as being semi OCD is because, I was planning on having a lot more fighting in book two, most of which is caused because you now live with Mark and he likes things a certain way.

I just needed a reason for constant arguing, however I decided to go with one-two small arguments plus one large one instead of several small ones. It was easier for me as the writer and I think it worked out better.

11) The only thing I am going to share with you about book three is that there were three possible endings. I was considering doing alternate endings. However, I no longer like the idea of that. I feel by doing alternate endings, it would change the overall feel so, I have picked the ending I feel suits the series best and have decided to go with that.

At the end of book three, I will reveal what the other two endings were going to be.

12) Finally, once the entire series is complete I will be looking into creating the series as an audiobook for those who'd rather listen than read. Interestingly some of you have requested that, so I will most likely record a reading of all books myself and upload them to either Youtube or Soundcloud.

Unless, someone else wants to do it. Hehe. (I'm serious. You can inquire about this if that interests you, just inbox me.)

I guess that's it folks. I just wanted to thank you guys for being so loyal to me as an author and the series as a whole. Unfortunately book two had a rocky start, and no organization when it came to publishing and for that I am sorry but, thank you for sticking it out. It's been an interesting ride, and the outpour of love for this series is something I won't soon forget.

I will be taking a bit of a break from writing TMF to focus on editing my published works, and finishing up some smut/fluff shots but, don't fret! Book 3 will begin to release on January 9th 2016. I hope you guys enjoyed the series so far, and I'm looking forward to beginning the new journey in writing the 3rd and final book to the main story, Teasing Mr. Fischbach: Reinstated
