Remember me, my friend? The one you abandoned when it got too much, the one you just walked away from when you were called upon, the one who trusted you with her life...I thought you wouldn't remember.

It's funny, seeing as I still consider you my friend when you have broken me. You may say that I'm exaggerating, but take a closer look. I thought you of all people would understand, seeing as you are the reason my soul is broken. Dust is all that's left. And even that you managed to crush into smaller pieces, pieces that I know I'll never be able to fix.

I believed that nothing could break us, not school nor bullies nor popularity. Little did I know, that what broke us would be you. You, the very one I relied on. You, the one who could make me laugh when I needed to cry. You, the one who had my soul in the palm of your hand.

And even though you'd abandoned us, I still stuck with you, hoping that you'd see the truth. That I can't live without you. But, as cruel time moved on, so did you. Yet, I stuck with you, hardly ever being noticed by the one who promised we would be together forever.

Finally, when I was at my weakest, you extended a caring hand toward me. And I, being the fool that I was, took it. But just as I was about to touch your hand, you moved it away. You turned your back on me. It took a long time for me to recover, but I still stuck with you.

And when we started to mend our friendship, when a small sliver of hope shone our way, you left me. When I called for you, and pleaded just to hear your voice, you left me. And that time, I left you alone. Because I knew that no matter how much I stuck with you, you would always leave me.

But I was too late. My soul already had shattered, its remains broken beyond repair. And still to this day it has stayed that way...with me being too afraid to fix it once more.

And so, I cry tears. Tears from a broken soul.
