Chapter 4
Several days had gone by since Vanessa's death, and the group of survivors had started to get back on their feet.
The clearing had become a perfect home. Dens of sticks and brambles had been built by Tiffany and Lizzie, and they were perfect for any weather.
At night, Jack and Kelly made a fire, and the whole party would eat and talk while the moon rose high in the sky.
On the sixth day, you were sitting on a log next to Jen and Amanda, when Matthias cleared his throat.
Matthias had captured the eyes of the group. He looked nervous for a moment, but then he started to speak.
"I don't think that we should just be sitting here," he said.
Amy cocked her head. "What do you mean?"
Matthias shook his head. "We should go back to the city. The fire should be burnt out by now, and we should get the crystals. So the unknown force doesn't take them."
"But what if they already did?" Carly asked.
Matthias shrugged. "We should probably check."
Tiffany nodded slowly. "That seems reasonable. I agree.
Everyone else nodded.
"Then we'll go tomorrow," Matthias said.
