Chapter Six
It wasn't until Wednesday that the teenagers found out what they could do with their powers.
Chlera looked at Derek, and accessed his mind. She hurriedly racked through his brain, (feeling guilty, of course, but it was for a reason-) and found a basic 'file' on her.
CHLERA GREEN
-Fourteen or Fifteen(?)
-Team Galaxy! Teammate
-Can read minds
-Smart(??)
-Kinda Pretty
Derek thought she was 'kinds pretty'. That would definitely do.
Meanwhile, Derek was, in fact, thinking of girls.
His friends were always bugging each other about who they liked, and who they wanted to date, or who they wanted to...actually, how about no.
About 72% of them would always say Deborah, seeing as she was 'the most obtainable' one, which Derek didn't get. (the remaining percent were mostly other nerd girls, or bookworms from the other group. A couple of them were gay, but they didn't talk about it much.)
"Who do you like?" Manny asked, looking at Derek.
"Who, me?" Derek asked, thinking he saw a flash of auburn out of the corner of his eyes.
"Yeah, you. You've been off in outer space all day." Manny huffed. "So who is it? Who is she?"
"Well, uh, er...." Derek racked his brain. "Uh..."
"C'mon, you can tell us!" they said, their face in a bobcat's grin.
"It's...It's..." Derek swallowed, saying the first girl's name that came to mind. "It's Chlera."
"Ohh yeah. She's hot," Manny commented, their smile never wavering. "But have you seen Galy recently? I know she's off-limits and stuff, but-"
"Dude, gross." Eric said, his face scrunching up.
Derek wanted to punch Eric in the face. His eyes scanned the room, and they landed on an abandoned lunch tray. It sped over to Eric at the speed of sound, and knocked him in the back of the head. Eric swore, and Derek allowed himself a little secret smile. Score one for Derek and Manny.
Greg spent the entire day sucking up electricity and using it to his advantage. Electricity had become his coffee. He ran like a super freak during P.E., and still was twitchy for the rest of the day. Thankfully, it was the only day thus far that he actually paid attention in class. (Of course, he still didn't get it.)
Deborah opened her locker, and a million tiny notes fell out into the hallway. She sighed heavily. She knew about the millions of dorks, nerds, jocks, theater kids, etc. that liked her. It was becoming annoying, to be honest. She had a sudden idea, and looked side to side. No one was around...
Deborah melded her locker to have a simple box on the inside to stop the letters from flooding the rest of her livelihood. Thank the Lord.
Galy wasn't late for a single class that day. She managed to keep a low profile the entire day, thankfully. She finally managed to keep up with the rest of the group in P.E.. (Not that the teacher cared, she just made some comment under her breath about how she wasn't payed enough.)
However, something bothered all the members of Team Galaxy. What was the true extent of their powers? What would those stones do? And how on Earth would they even use their powers? When was the first villain fight? What would they do? How would they fight? They were brimming with questions.
They got their answers the next day.
