Michonne's P.O.V

Carl and I rode down the long empty road, searching for a house that wasn't surrounded by walkers. It was very hard and we considered turning back around bur Carl said he was having too much fun.

"What did you want to be when you were younger?" Carl asked

Well, I sure didn't want to be a woman fighting for her life everyday..

"A dentist.. What about you?"

"I don't know.. I wanted to be a astronomer at one point in time but then again I was like nahh I'm gonna be a street pharmacist."

Street pharma.. OHHHHhhh

I laughed a little louder than I should have and hit his arm, "Carl, you wanted to be a drug dealer?," I laughed in between words because of the way he put it, "how long did it take you to come up with that?"

"Months. I'm just glad you lau--" he slammed on brakes not being able to finish his sentence.

"Look!"he pointed up ahead, to a young boy placing stuff in a backpack, back facing us.

"Get your sword." he said

We got our weapons and quietly got out the car, and rushed the boy.

Carl knew the drill, he commanded the boy to put up his hands.

"Oh c'mon homeboy!" the boy exclaimed

"Who are you and where are you from?" I asked

"I'm Jay, and I'm alone, I swear."
He half smirked at Carl and I, which made me very suspicious of him.

Jay was about Carl's height, with brown skin and two long braids down to his shoulders.

"You want my stuff? Take it lil bruh, just put the gun down and let me walk away." he bargained

"We don't want your stuff." I said

"Well then, why you out here bout to slice and dice me?" he asked

"We want to help you." Carl said

"Really? Damn, yall got a bad way of showing it. What's yo name homie?"

"Carl."

"Michonne."

"Aite, Carl and Michelle, how you tryna help me?" he asked

"We have a place, with food and water and video games and hot showers." Carl explained

"Nahh bruh!! Video games?" jay exclaimed

"Yes." I assured

Jay threw his hands in the air and began swatting at bugs, "well lets go! These gnats are angrier than Negan.." He said

Carl and I looked at each other and then back at Jay and lifted our weapons again.

"Yoo chill!" Jay exclaimed

"How do you know Negan?" I asked

"Can I explain in the car?  These gnats are really killing me."

"Yeah, but we tie you up first, got it?" Carl said

"Yessir... Carl?"

Rick's P.O.V

Michonne and Carl drove back into ASZ earlier than I expected and from the looks of it, they brought a boy.

I ran up the car, to the passenger's side where Michonne sat.

"Hey," I said

"Hey." she said, so dimly.

"Who's the kid?" I asked

She sighed and looked at Carl and then back at me, "Call the town to the meeting hall. He knows Negan." she said

And with that, Carl drove off.

With the whole town in the meeting hall, the new boy sat where Jesus first sat when we met him.

"Who's the kid?" Daryl asked as he walked through the door with his crossbow over his shoulder.

Daryl was the last one to arrive, so it was dead silent when he walked in.

"Nice Troy G10," the boy said

Daryl froze in his tracks and stared at the boy, "you like crossbows?" he asked

"Hell yeah I do."

"I like this kid." Daryl said as he continued to push through the seats of others.

"So, who are you?" I asked

I made my voice sound a bit harsh so he the kid knew I meant buisness.

"Jaden Thomas. But you can call me Jay cause I can tell you cool fam." he said

"How old are you?" Carl butted in

"Honestly, I lost track..but I think I'm like 17." he laughed but no one else did..
Except Carl.

"Nah nah I'm kiddin bruh, I'm 16."

"Me too!" Carl exclaimed

"That's wassup, we still up for them video games later on though?" Jay asked

"For sure." Carl said

"Aite! prepared to get bea--"

"Hey hey!" Michonne yelled

Everyone stared at Carl and Jay as their mini conversation went on but we didn't have time for it.

"Damn Michelle, calm down."

"How do you know Negan?" Jesus stepped forward and asked.

"Well lemme tell you but get comfortable homeboy, cause this story longer than my life span."

Jay explained how he used to live with his dad in Chicago, but when the apocalypse broke out, he and his dad were on vacation visiting a friend here in Atlanta. He told us how him, his dad and his dad's  friend survived together for a while, until about 4 years in, his dad's friend met  Negan and became a savior, and the Saviors said to him and his dad, "join or die" and his dad  "straight up said  nah" and they shot him in the head. Jay said he joined so he wouldn't die but he escaped the next day and that he been on his own this whole time..

Of course It was way more descriptive but it started getting late and I closed the meeting until further notice.

Michonne, Carl, Jay and I sat in the meeting hall still, just asking him questions.

"Dad, can Jay stay with us tonight so we can like play video games?" Cark asked

I just sat there for a second, rubbing my chin and contemplating whether I should let him or not.

"Yeah, as long as Michonne is fine with it." I said

We all looked at Michonne as she rolled her eyes  and shrugged her shoulders.

Michonne looked tired and gloomy and I hated when she looked like this. She made ne want to pick her up and carry her bridal style to my room and make her smile.... Wait... What?

"It's a yes then." Carl said

"Lit! -- wait, all yall live together?" Jay asked

"Yeah, and my baby sister Judith."

"Damn. Happy little family, must be nice.." Jay said

I felt bad for Jaden.. He didn't have a family and he was all alone out there. The fact that he's 16 makes me wonder If he is a young bad ass...

We all decided to go on home and get some rest, well me and Michonne did.

Carl and Jay said they'd catch up. Carl said he wanted to show Jay around.

"Ay, Rick, thanks for letting me in again, and nice Colt python dawg."

"Thanks." I said

Michonne and I turned to walk to the house when he stopoed us again, "You and Michelle make a good couple too." he said

I laughed at the fact that he called Michonne Michelle and that he thought we were a couple,  although I wish we were.

I shook my head at him and Carl and me and Michonne headed home.

"He's right..I like that kid." I murmured

Michonne laughed and bumped into me, " You do have a pretty nice python." she said

"No I meant the couple part," I said

Although I do have a nice python too, and I don't mean the gun.

There was an awkward silence until I broke the ice, "last one to the house has to do laundry tomorrow!" I said

I proceeded to run off until she groaned my name.

"Riiiccck! Im tired!" she said

I looked at her and the sunset in the back ground and smiled.

"Fine." I ran over and lifted her up, bridal style and she laughed and beg for me to put her down but I didn't listen.. I held on tight and didn't let go as she kicked her legs softly. "Relax michelle, we're going home."
She giggled and hit my shoulder and then she just loosened up.

"Wooo wooo!!" Carl yelled from behind us.
