Rick's P.O.V

It's been a month since I found out that Michonne's having a baby, and I can't be happier. I can't be more protective and I can't be more grateful then I am at this time in my life...

But sometimes I sit and think about how happy I was when Lori told me she was pregnant, and where she ended up. Dead..

I don't want that to happen to Michonne, God forbid!! I would probably kill myself with her..
But, I mean, that's not going to happen.. We have better a better doctor then we did at that time. So if anything goes wrong, Carson will fix it. He won't let me lose Michonne.

"Rick!" Michonne exclaimed, hitting my chin from under me.

"Yes?" I answered, breaking myself from my thoughts.

"Are you okay? You've been staring at the wall for a solid 10 minutes now. "

"I'm okay." I lied.

"No you're not. You're too deep in thought, I can tell from your face.. What's on your mind?" she asked.
Damn she knows me well...

I stared down at her, lying in my lap while she read a magazine.
I ran my thumb across her cheek and she smiled, raising her beautiful cheekbones.

"You're so beautiful." I smiled

She rolled her eyes and put her full attention on me, "don't change the subject! What's on your mind?" she asked again

"Nothing.. I'm just listening to the sounds of the rain." I lied, once more

It was raining like hell outside, and it's the first time it's rained like this in ages.

She sat up and winced as she ran her hand over her small baby bump that was forming.

"Really, Rick..."

I can't tell her what I'm thinking, It's got me paranoid! And I can't have her paranoid, she's pregnant! She doesn't need to worry at all.

"I love you Michonne Grimes." I said, flopping back on the bed.

She sighed and soon laid against my chest, with one of her hands  interlocked with mine.

I held her tight to me, because in this moment she is with me and who knows, maybe in the next, she'll be gone.

God! I wish these thoughts would go away.  I don't wanna think like this! I don't wanna imagine a world without Michonne.

And then, thunder struck. A loud bang roared across the sky, causing Michonne and I to both jump. The thunder was loud, very loud. Loud enough to crack eardrums if you were outside and it scared the holy hell out of me!

When the thunder stopped roaring, I could hear the pitter patter of footsteps running down the hallway and that's when Carl and Judith appeared in front of our door frame.

"We can't sleep." Carl yelped quickly

"You're nearly 17 for hell's sake, what's a little thunder?" I chuckled

"Fine, she can't sleep then." He said, pushing Judith on into our room.

"Alright, come up here with me and mama." I said to Judith.
She didn't hesitate to run over to the bed and hop on, snuggling between Michonne and I.

"Goodnight, Carl." Michonne smiled

She and I both know he's afraid of the thunder, but I mean that's completely normal. He has PTSD. We live in a world where our nightmares at night aren't scarier than the one we live in, and the sounds of gunshots are normal, and living with the fact that you can die any moment.
I won't let him sleep alone if he's afraid, even if he is 17... He'll always be my little boy.

He still stood at the door, with his hair in a bun, staring back at us hopelessly.

"Why don't you join us?" I asked sarcastically.

Carl's face lit up and he nearly jumped in bed but Michonne stopped him.
"Cut off the light!" she said, with her eyes closed.

"Oh!" He went over and cut off the light and once he turned back around, thunder struck again, but this time even louder --- causing him to dive into bed and scramble for covers.

Judy laid between Michonne and I, separating our bodies and Carl slept across our legs. He didn't weigh much so it was fine to me.

"Goodnight ma, night dad." Carl said whilst getting comfortable

"Night." Michonne and I both murmured at the same time.

I turned over and placed my arms over Judith, resting my hand on Michonne's  small stomach.

"This is all I need." I whispered to myself

"Me too." Michonne chuckled
