Cassidy snorted up milk.
That started her bad morning.
Cassidy had been assigned to a different school, fitting in perfectly. She had already met new people she would consider friends if they didn't have such short time together.
"Oh that's amazing! Crusty Cassidy is snorting out the cum from all the guys she's-" A boy started laughing so hard his sentence was cut off. But dead silence boomed as a smaller boy punched him hard in the face. The smaller boy turned and smiled at Cassidy. "Sorry about that. My brother can be a jerk sometimes. I'm Alec Kane. And that idiot boy is my brother, Plutarus Kane. Call him Pluta for short."
Cassidy smiled at Alec, and sighed with her eyes shut. "Thanks. I'm Cassidy Jackson. Call me Cass for short. Your brother is quite rude." When she opened her eyes, Alec was backing away slowly. "Um yeah. Nice meeting ya!" He yelled, and ran. Cassidy flushed, thinking it was her fault. But she looked again to see Plutarus was following Alec closing. "You little-!"
She laughed again, sitting back down. "Guys are so stupid." She finished her lunch and sighed as the 3rd block bell rang. "Almost done, and no sighting.. Good so far." She reported into her headpiece.
"Who ya talking to?"
Cassidy squeaked and jumped, looking behind her. The boy from before stood behind her, his fish eyes not amused anymore. They looked suspicious. That's when Cassidy knew he wasn't a normal high schooler either.
"It's you.." She hissed, grabbing her stone. But it wasn't in her pocket. She looked up to see Alec grinning.
"Looking for... This?" In his palm was the clear diamond stone. He let out a loud laugh as his form completely changed. Instead of a high school boy, there now stood an enormous spotted leopard, it's hide black with red spots, it's eyes the color of gold.
Cassidy gulped and slowly backed up. "Nice... Kitty..." She whispered, putting her hands up. Alec-the-leopard lunged, and she screamed. This is it, I'm going to die...
She inhaled sharply as everything was quiet. She looked up to see a girl in front of her, holding a palm out. Alec-the-leopard was frozen, literally. He was in a block of ice. The other girl turned, her frosty features giving way to a warm smile.
"Hello. I'm Persia Nørman. Nice to meet you. Next time, don't trust cute boys. They always deceive you. I think this is yours?" She held out the diamond, and Cassidy gratefully took it. "Yeah. Thanks. I'm Cassidy. What'll happen to him?" She asked, jutting her thumb at the ice statue of Alec the Leopard. "You can take him back to your base, or I can deal with him. Your choice."
Cassidy looked at the thin girl. After being saved, she knew what the choice was. "Unless you want him, I'll be happy to take him off your hands." Persia smiled at Cassidy, dark amusement in her eyes. There was something scary about the ice girl, but it was vague. "It'd be nice if you to take this troublemaker. Also, please help him. Please promise no one else will get hurt."
Cassidy smiled as she looked up at Alec.
"Trust me. I can't promise you that nobody will ever not get hurt, but I can promise you that I'll be there when there's another attack. I'll protect you. I'll stand by you, fight for you. And that, my friend, is a true promise."
