The next day, things have been awfully tense.

Taehyung still wasn't over what he saw and experienced yesterday. He felt sad, ditched by his own best friend and boyfriend at the same time, in a moment he needed him the most.

Thus, he decided to ignore the slightly smaller boy for the rest of the day. He thought it would be a piece of cake, however he didn't know that Jungkook heavily regretted not arriving at the hospital yesterday, so he has already thought about how he would form his words into an apology.

So, in the morning it wasn't surprising that after Taehyung has hurried to his locker to grab some books, in hope that he wouldn't meet Jungkook, the latter already waited at his locker, anxiously biting his lower lip while looking down.

Taehyung froze his tracks in the busy hallway once he perceived him standing nearby his locker, sighed deeply and turned around, hoping Jungkook didnt notice him. But what he didn't know was that Jungkook became very cautious lately, watched his surroundings more than usual.

"Ah, Taehyung!" Jungkook called, easily spotting the brown-haired boy and started running towards his direction, hurriedly passing other students in their lively hallway. He frowned, however, noticing that Taehyung didn't react, and in fact, accelerated his pace.

Nevertheless, Jungkook followed him with furrowed eyebrows, calling out to him more and more, louder and louder, hurried even more and finally arrived at his back, when—

"What is it!!" Taehyung immediately snapped as he turned around, startling the younger by the sudden reaction. Jungkook blinked his doe eyes at Tae, and realized. He was hella mad and disappointed. And that just made his heart ache more in deep regret.

"Taehyung," he started, and as he looked at the elder's eyes, how furious, angered they were, the weight of guilt started to become even heavier on his shoulders, unbearable even. "I- first off, I am so sorry."

A scoff leaved his lips. "Oh please. I don't want to hear that. Just leave me alone now, okay?" he demanded, wanting to walk forward again but Jungkook stopped him from turning around by clutching onto the material of his shirt on his arm.

"No wait, you really don't understand!" Jungkook said in frustration, and had a short, inner debate on whether to suddenly explode with his problems, or just lie. But lying, or at least dodging the truth, seemed easier.

"There- there was an emergency. I really couldn't come. I am so sorry, it's a really long story—" Taehyung cut him off by snatching his arm away from Jungkook's fingers.

"What's so long about you ditching me to go to a fucking cafeteria with your new-made friend? Eh?" he asked sarcastically, and that's when Jungkook's jaw, as well as heart dropped. He saw.

The time to progress that took a while, which Taehyung found was an answer clear enough. He laughed in disbelief. "Feels shitty to be exposed, right? Can't believe you didn't at least tell me that you're busy. This way, I wouldn't have waited there like a fucking moron, having hopes that—"

"No! Tae, you got this all wrong. Seriously. W-what you saw isn't what you think it is, I'm serious!" he tried desperately, again reaching out for Tae. The male however stepped back, unintentionally stabbing into Jungkook's heart.

"Just drop it." he said lowly. "I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now. I saw what I saw, and I'm disappointed in you, Jungkook."

"Tae please, I am so, so sorry!" he said, feeling his eyes itchy as the feeling of upcoming tears raised inside of him. But Taehyung only did another step back, shaking his head.

"You don't even have the guts to tell me you preferred to spend time with your friend. You're scared." Taehyung said calmly, and little did he know, he was completely right.

Jungkook looked at him sadly, face turning into a crying one. "Yes," he huffed with a shaky voice. "I am scared, I am afraid. Afraid of- l-losing you." he whispered, and out of sudden, Taehyung's insides softened seeing how tears were escaping Jungkook's eyes, how hurt he looked. At that moment, he completely forgot his anger. All that mattered to him was his beloved one crying, because of him.

"I am so sorry for leaving you alone. I didn't want that. I- I fucked up, but please forgive me Tae, I really—" he started sniffing and sobbing slowly, more and more, until Taehyung couldn't stand it and suddenly rushed to him, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Shhh shh. Calm down, breathe." He hushed, carefully caressing the back of his hair while holding him tightly against his chest, not caring even a little about the other students passing them, wondering what K-Drama this was.

Jungkook's crying softened, clutching onto Tae's shirt, not wanting to let him go. "You won't lose me this easily, Kookie," he cooed. "I just need some time alone, okay? I still love you. A lot. I'm just still a little mad, so don't cry. I can't stand it when you cry." he explained calmly, pulling away from the hug to be able to cup Jungkook's face, staring at him sincerely.

The latter nodded multiple times, sniffing. "I understand. I'll leave you alone for some time" he spoke quietly, and Taehyung nodded, slowly letting go. "Thank you." Was all he said, seeing that Jungkook calmed down, and then turned around, leaving the younger one alone.

Yes, Taehyung was still mad and disappointed, but seeing him cry right in front of him was just something he couldn't bear with.

Also, he absolutely needed to find out what was wrong with Jungkook.

Long hours have passed, it was currently somewhere about 4 pm. Sounds of a ball being smashed onto the ground countless times echoed through the gym, squeaky sounds of shoes moving quickly onto the clean floor and short, loud shoutings to each other as signals coming from sweaty males. There was currently a basketball practice happening.

A black-haired, smaller and pale male was moving swiftly, just receiving the ball of the game. He started skillfully passing through the enemy team's members, the ball coming back from the ground like a magnet to his hand. Then, when he was sure nothing was blocking his way as he was inching closer and closer to the basketball hoop, he did a little squat, jumped up and threw the ball gracefully, making it perfectly go through it.

The sounds of cheers from his team evolved through the gym-hall, his teammates rushing up to him and giving him excited high-five's since with that goal, they won the match and at the same time, finished the practice.

"Awesome job, Yoongs!" a tall third-grader of a teammate said enthusiastically, dimples showing when he flashed a smile. The called one just nodded, smiling a little at the compliment. "It's not just my reward though. You all did great" he responded.

"Yeah, nice game" another boy from the other team came up as he said that out of breath, having blonde hair and especially remarkable wide shoulders. "Especially you, Joonie. I love how your sexy brain works while outsmarting me." he said, winking at him before blowing a kiss.

The boy called Joonie just laughed, being amused by the blonde's flirt attempt. "Oh, so you saw my brain? Okay.." he said, chuckling. "Jin, could you like, not flirt with Namjoon when I'm literally next to you guys?" Yoongi cringed.

"Sorry yoongs, we'll be leaving anyways- let's go Jinnie, you didn't forget our bet did you?" he said, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. Jin sighed deeply. "I know, I know. The loser pays for today's restaurant's bill.." "Correct" Namjoon smiled sweetly.

"Well, have fun you guys" Yoongi said while walking off, and the two of them thanked and waved after him before going to the locker rooms to change, just like most of the players in the gym. Yoongi however first walked to the bench, sat down and took his water bottle from the ground, opening it to calm down his thirst.

After he emptied it, he exhaled loudly and crumpled the plastic bottle, ready to stand up when he perceived a boy sitting next to him in the corner of his eye. He frowned and looked over there properly, wondering for how long he has been actually sitting there. He also didn't look like a regular player, since he was dressed in normal clothes, so he probably wasn't here to practice.

But, he looked like the boy Jimin was crushing on. Taehyung. Yoongi could feel a knot in his stomach, an uneasy, heavy and burning feeling evolving there. Jealousy.

The boy was having an aslant posture while sitting, having his hands fold together poorly while looking down at the ground. It was unambiguous that he was lost in his thoughts, probably even drowning in them, mind being cut off from the world.

That's when Yoongi decided to take him back to earth, and flicked his fingers once but loudly right in front of him. Surprisingly, by Yoongi's rather aggressive hand movement of flicking, Taehyung blinked several times before slowly waking up.

"If you came here to watch the practice, it's over. Go home, they will be closing the gym pretty soon." Yoongi explained. Taehyung looked at him, still a little dazed. "O-oh," he finally muttered out after some awkward silence. "I'm sorry. I actually came here to ask if I could play too sometime."

"You want to play on the team?" Yoongi asked, surprised. Well, it wasn't like he would mind. He thought it would definitely feel great beating his 'love rival' in a game. At least he'd have success in this fight, unlike the already lost fight about winning Jimin's heart.

"Yeah, but I don't want to become a regular. Just wanna be able to come sometime and play, to distract myself from certain thoughts." he explained, and Yoongi nodded.

"Well, the basketball club is open for anyone, but you'd need to talk with the leader first, so he will know about you. His name is Kim Namjoon. He's a third-grader, Class 3-B."

"That's fine, thank you," Taehyung smiled. "Too bad I missed him for today, I'll come back tomorrow, perharps."

Yoongi nodded again and looked down, sighing. "Okay, I'll be going then. Goodbye" he said while standing up, attempting to make his way to the lockers. But that's when Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows a little, taking a closer look at Yoongi.

"Wait," he said, at the same time grabbing Yoongi's wrist before he could pass him. This made the black-haired one stop in confusion, looking back at Taehyung. "Uhm.. Anything else?"

Silence. He just kept staring up at the male, meanwhile trying to complete the blurry puzzle in his memory. A picture his eyes took when Jungkook went into the cafeteria, with a... pale, black-haired boy.

At some point, Yoongi got annoyed and just ripped his wrist out of his grip. "Goodbye" he said again, a bit unfriendlier than before, but that's when Taehyung stood up, immediately blocking his way with his own body.

"Yah, what is your problem?" Yoongi said with squinted eyes, seeing how the taller boy's orbs darkened, how tensed he suddenly looked, how he was clenching his jaw.

"You're the one who went into that damn cafeteria with my boyfriend yesterday." he said in an accusing tone, shooting daggers at Yoongi. On the contrary to Taehyung, Yoongi looked completely calm, slowly understanding the situation.

"Ah. So you're Jungkook's boyfriend?"

Taehyung's adam apple bobbed up and down. "Yes. Exactly."

Yoongi bit down on his lip as well as looked down, nodding several times, as if he'd be thinking about something.

"Okay. And what do you want from me now?"

"Want you to leave him alone," Taehyung growled. In his eyes, Yoongi was just being another love rival. Little did he know, Yoongi wasn't being interested in Jungkook, rather in Jimin.

The latter scoffed. "I'm not interested in him in that way."

"But I've never seen you around him before. Guess there must have been some interest if you two even went to drink something together? Hmh?" Taehyung took a step closer, being directly in front of Yoongi, looking down a little.

"You claim to be his boyfriend, but you don't know a thing." Yoongi said, withstanding his glare and keeping a strict, blank look. Taehyung's eye twitched.

"Like what?"

"You better go ask him yourself instead of being here and treating me like some dumb fucking love rival." Yoongi hissed, even though he exactly knew he saw Taehyung in the same way. "You two absolutely need to talk."

Taehyung frowned at his words. "Why are you saying that?"

"Let's just say that he opened up to me. And I'm telling you, things are not good. But I promised not to tell anyone. So you better move your ass to him right fucking now, and listen, talk. The sooner, the better." Yoongi explained, half-glaring at him.

And with that, he just walked off, leaving the puzzled male there. Taehyung stared back, watching the door to the lockers fall close with a thump, leaving him alone in the now silent, empty hall.
