Killian POV

I had to admit, I felt just a little bad for Sean. He turned to me.

"I know, we aren't on the best of terms right now, but I need you to talk to her for me. Even if she doesn't come home, I want her to talk to me." He said. "She listens to you."

I laughed. "She doesn't listen to me any better than she listens to you. This is Kassidy we are talking about."

"Fair enough." He said. "Just...try."

"I will try, but I can't promise anything. She will talk to you when she's ready." I said. He nodded and set a bag full of things on my desk.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Its some of her things that I thought she might want but is too stubborn to come home and get." He said.

"I'm sure, she'll appreciate it." I said.

"She was looking a little rough.." He said and sighed.

"I don't think she slept last night." I said.

"She gets this way when she has a lot on her mind, She thinks I don't notice because I'm not home a lot, but I do, put a couple drops of melatonin in her tea and she will be out like a light." He said. It was obvious he missed her.

"Thank you.. for not telling the school board." I said.

He nodded. "Well, honestly this morning.. I was going to, however I thought about yesterday the way you defended her after I said what I said not many people would throw a police officer...with a gun at a wall the way you did and not even think twice about it.." He said. "I can tell that you love her."

"I do." I said. "More than anything."

"Good." He said.

Kassidy POV

The girls and I sat at our normal booth in Granny's sharing a huge plate of French fries and working on our homework. Every now and then Ruby would get up to help Granny with the tables and that's when I saw her walk in.

Katherine.

The pencil in my hand broke and both Emma and Belle looked to the door and then back at me.

"Why are you looking at that woman like you want to rip out her soul?" Emma asked.

"Because I want to rip out her soul if she even has one." I muttered. Ruby looked at me and looked at Katherine and winked before seating her at a table and asking her what she'd like to drink.

"Who is that woman?" Belle asked.

"My dads new girlfriend." I said. Katherine looked over at me, and smiled. I rolled my eyes. I watched Ruby bring her a cup of coffee and then she came over and sat back down with us with a grin on her face.

"What did you do?" Belle asked.

"Wait for it." Ruby said. I watched Katherine take a sip of the coffee. I watched her face twist and I watched her spit it out everywhere and start fanning her mouth. I looked at Ruby and laughed

"What did you do?"

"You mean she didn't want Tabasco in her coffee?" She asked with a fake pout.

"You are horrible!" Belle hissed but was trying herself not to laugh. I looked up at Katherine she was now glaring at me. I tilted my head and smirked at her. If she thought I was about to play nice she was dead wrong. My Dad walked in the diner obviously to meet Katherine. I rolled my eyes. He looked at her and she looked straight at me, said something and pointed to our table.

He walked over to the table and put his hands on his hips.

"Really Kass?" He asked. I looked at Ruby and started talking to her about our Biology project.

"That's cute." Dad said. "You can ignore me, all you want. You can be angry with me. But leave Katherine out of it." He said and then looked at Ruby. "And you, I would hope that I wouldn't have to remind you that tampering with someone's food, or drink is illegal. What if she had been allergic? That's a good way to get a murder charge." He said.

"Yes Sir...Sorry." Ruby said looking down but I could see she was still trying to hide a smile.

"I think the world would be okay with one less Katherine." I muttered and glanced up at him. Normally the look on his face would have scared the shit out of me but right now I didn't care at all what he thought.

Katherine walked over.

"Sean.. its okay, really. It was a harmless prank." She said "Come sit back down with me." She said. He shot me a warning look before walking back to the table with Katherine.

"I don't think I've ever seen your Dad so pissed off." Emma said. I smirked.

Killian POV

I sat in the office working on the lesson plan for the rest of the week when two hands went over my eyes. I smirked.

"Please be my girlfriend and not a serial killer." I said.

"What if I was a serial killer?" Kassidy asked and took her hands off of my eyes. I spun the chair around and she sat in my lap.

"Well you're an awfully pretty serial killer." I said and kissed her. She looked down at my lesson plan.

"That looks like an incredibly boring week." She said.

"For you. Some people enjoy algebra."

"Where are these mythical creatures? Discovery channel would like to know." She said.

"You are in a good mood." I said and turned back to the desk trying to focus on work which was a little difficult with Kassidy on my lap.

"Katherine was at the diner, Ruby put hot sauce in her coffee." She said and chuckled.

"That's perfectly legal." I muttered.

"Oh my God you sound just like my Dad.." She said and rolled her eyes.

"He was there? How did that go?" I asked.

"Fine, I guess. He yelled, I ignored him. so yeah it went fine." She said and shrugged. "Lets not talk about my Dad right now." She said.

"Fair enough." I said and wrote something down.

"You should take a break." She said while her fingers worked on the buttons of my shirt.

"I really need to get this done." I said, trying to ignore her as she placed her lips on my neck.

"But you worked all day and you can do that later." She said with a sly smile. She looked to the side of me where I had set the bag of things her father had left with me.

"What's this?" She asked.

"Uh...its things your father thought you might want." I said and waited for the explosion. But none came. She took the bag and looked in it and for just a second she smiled but it quickly faded and there were tears in her eyes but she pushed them back and stood from my lap.

"I'm uh gonna let you get back to that. I should finish my homework anyways." She said and walked out of the room. I sighed. Why did she have to be so stubborn. All she had to do was call her father, and talk to him and work it out and everything would be fine, but then she would have to admit that she was wrong and hell would have to freeze before that happened. 

It was around 10:30, I was getting tired, and I was surprised that Kassidy was still awake. I sat down on the couch beside her and looked at the book she was reading

"Treasure Island?" I asked.

"Its..my favorite." She said not taking her eyes off the book.

"Its a good one." I smiled and looked at the coffee table where she had the bag of things her Dad brought her so I assumed it came from that.

"I used to bring it everywhere, anytime we went on vacation. I'd bring this book to read on the road even though I've read it probably a thousand times." She said.

"That's probably why your Dad put it in the bag." I said. She glanced up from the book and narrowed her eyes.

"I Know what you are doing and its not going to work." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You are trying to guilt trip me into talking to my dad and its not going to work. No matter what Bromance the two of you have going on."

"Bromance?? He brought those things to me, and I thanked him for not turning me in to the school board. That hardly classifies as Bromance." I said.

"If that's what you need to tell yourself." She said.

I took the book from her hands.

"Hey!" She said.

"Come to bed." I said.

"I'm not tired. I'm reading." She said.

"Fine. Would you like some tea?" I asked.

"Tea would be nice." She smiled. I raised an eyebrow at her and shook my head and went to the kitchen to make her some tea while I was doing that I peeked into the living room to make sure she wasn't looking before I grabbed the melatonin drops I had picked up from the drug store on my way home.

This better work Sean.

I put a couple of drops into the tea and brought it to her.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"You're welcome. I'm going to bed, like a normal human being." I said and smirked and walked down the hall.

It was about 30 minutes later before I felt her crawl in to bed next to me.

"Change your mind?" I asked and wrapped my arm around her as she curled into me. She just yawned and gave me a sleepy smile before pecking me on the lips.

"Goodnight." She said. I smirked.

"Good night." I said.

"Killian?" She mumbled.  

"Yes love?"

"I'm making my own tea from now on you sneaky devil." She said.
