Chapter 13 Got a Little Drunk Last Night

Killian POV

It was Friday, which was normally test day but I had been so distracted that I completely forgot to print the tests off so, at least the students would get a nice surprise. Kassidy hadn't said much to me since Wednesday night and she was very quiet in class yesterday which was completely out of character for her and today, she didn't even show up to class.

"Was Miss Cole here today Ruby?" I asked figuring her best friend would know.

"Yes. I don't know why she isn't here." She said.

Great. She had moved from hardly speaking to me to avoiding me all together.

"Okay, well, I forgot to print off the tests this morning, so you all get another study day." I said. The class cheered.

"Yeah yeah. Don't forget half of you have Saturday detention. And you have this whole weekend to study before this test on Monday so I expect everyone to pass it!" I said. "I will be back in a moment." I said and walked out of the classroom

Where are you Miss Cole?

I walked down the hall and past the library and saw Kassidy sitting in the library reading.

What the hell?

"Miss Cole." I said. She looked up at me. I gestured for her to come into the hall way. She got up and walked into the hallway.

"Hey." She said.

"Hey? You skip my class, I find you in the library and all I get is a hey?" I asked.

"Sorry.." She said.

"Why are you skipping class?" I asked.

"I just didn't feel like going." She said and shrugged with little emotion on her face.

"Well, do you feel like going to Detention?" I asked.

"Not really." She said.

"Then you should probably come to class." I said.

"I'm actually reading this really good book right now." She said.

"Kassidy." I said and gave her a look.

"Look, I'm just going to stay in the library. And if it makes you feel better to give me detention, then give me detention but that doesn't mean I'm going to show up there either." She said.

"What is the problem Kassidy? Does this have anything to do with Wednesday?" I asked.

Of course it does, Idiot

"I don't want to talk about Wednesday." She said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I'd rather forget about it." She said. "I shouldn't have done it, I got caught up in the moment, it was a mistake. You are my teacher."

"Is that really how you feel?" I asked.

"Yup." She said but I could see right through it. She was upset.

I saw Miss Mills out of the corner of my eye turning the corner. So, I put my best Scary teacher face on.

"Miss Cole, you either come back to class. Or you can come with me to the office and We can have a chat with Mr. Collins about you skipping class." I snapped. She looked confused for a second but then saw Miss Mills.

"Well, Since you asked so nicely." She said with her classic Kassidy Cole eye roll that I had come to know well.

I waited until Miss Mills was past us.

"Sorry about that." I said.

"See, This was so much easier, when you didn't have to pretend to be mean to me." She said. "So, maybe its for the best that we put it all behind us." She said.

"Fine. See you for Detention." I said and started walking away.

"Wait.. wait. Could we put it behind us after today? I have somewhere I need to be." She said.

"Do you now? Because you really needed to be in my classroom about 20 minutes ago for me to care where you needed to be after school Miss Cole." I said. If she wanted things to go back to normal fine, things would go back to normal even though it didn't feel normal anymore. I hated being like this to her.

She rolled her eyes and walked into the Library.

Kassidy POV

Of course I didn't really want things to go back to normal. I wanted to go back to Wednesday night and never leave. But I didn't know what to do. He was my teacher. This was his living that I was fucking up royally if we went any further that we already did. When the bell rang I sighed heavily and thought I would at least go to detention and try to talk him into letting me leave. I walked into the empty classroom, why was I always the only one here?

"Have a seat Miss Cole."

Ugh.. I hated it when he called me that.

"Actually, I came to see if there was any chance you'd just let me go." I said.

"Why would I do that?" He asked and leaned back in his chair.

"Well, I need to go home and get ready for a Party... at Emma's."

"That sounds fun." He said. "I bet you wish you could go." He said.

Burn accepted Jones.

I grumbled and sat down in the desk on the opposite side of the classroom and stared at the wall. I could still get out of detention, and have time to go to the party, I just wouldn't have nearly as much time to get ready.

"You don't really seem the party type." He said.

"Well, I am." I said.

"Its just usually any time Ruby, or Emma throws a party, Ruby is hung over the next day at school."

"Well, good thing its Friday." I muttered.

He got up from his desk and walked over to me and sat in the chair next to mine.

"Are we really going to do this?" He asked.

"Do what?" I asked.

"This whole, going back to Normal thing. Because, It really doesn't feel like normal anymore Kassidy."

"I know." I said. "But this is your job. I'm not going to let you mess it up. So its best to just forget about it." I said and stood up. "I really Can't be here. with you." I said and walked to the door.

"Kassidy. Please. Don't go." Killian said.

"I have to. Its for the best." I said and ran out of the classroom.

When I got home I couldn't stop the tears from coming. It was for the best, but why did it have to hurt so fucking bad?! I sat against the door and hit it with the side of my fist.

"Fuck!" I screamed. thankful that no one was home. My phone beeped in my pocket and I pulled it out. It was a text from Ruby.

Ruby:

You're still coming right?!

Me:

Yes. I just need to get ready.

I stood up and dusted myself off. I had to focus on getting ready and I couldn't do that if I was sitting on the floor crying over Killian Jones.

After showering, Straightening my hair, and putting on my make up I walked to my closet to pick out a dress to wear. I picked out my favorite strapless red dress from the back of the closet where I hid my clothes that I didn't want my dad to see and a matching pair of heels and put them on.

I snapped a few pictures and went to send them to Ruby on messenger. I opened the conversation and sent the pictures and set my phone down for a moment to go pick out jewelry. I put on a necklace my mom gave me and a few sparkly bracelets and walked back to my phone and stared down in Horror. I had sent the photos to Killian.

Killian:

Be careful tonight.

Also, don't you think its a tad cold for that dress?

Me:

Sorry, those pictures were meant for Ruby.

Killian:

I didn't imagine you'd mean to send your Algebra teacher, a half naked photo.

Me:

I'm fully clothed Thank you very much.

Killian:

Keep telling yourself that. Either way. Be careful.

Me:

Sure.

ugh.. why was I still texting him. This wasn't helping me to move on. I grabbed my purse, with my phone and my house keys and left the house making my way to Emma's.

Killian was right. It was a little too cold for this dress. Damnit. I hated it when he did that.

Killian POV

I hated the way I felt right now. Part of me wanted to think that Kassidy was right, we had to forget about it. It was so wrong. But there was still that part of me that wanted her because her kissing me, felt so right. Everything about her felt right. It was getting late, and I was getting worried, I know how parties with Ruby and Emma went and I know Kassidy went with the intention of erasing my existence for a night. I hated that she was at that party, and I hated that she was at that party in That dress. Because all I could think about was how good the dress looked on her, and how it would look even better on my bedroom floor. There was no telling what the boys at that party were thinking. It was about 11PM and I was about to message her and ask how things were going. I didn't give a fuck that she wanted to forget about me, I wasn't about to let her do that. My phone started ringing. Kassidy was calling me on facebook messenger. Speak of the Devil.

I answered the phone.

"Kassidy?" I said.

"Killian.." She muttered. She sounded absolutely shitfaced.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"No.. I don't know." She said.

"What's wrong?" I asked I was already grabbing my coat and my keys.

"I drank too much." She cried. "And now I'm lost."

"What do you mean you are lost?? I thought you went to Emma's." I said.

"I left and now I don't know where I am!" She cried.

"Okay.. Okay.. Just take a picture of something next to you. and send it to me. Stay there I am coming to get you!" I said and hung up and waited for a few minutes for a picture.

"Bloody hell.." I said and hurried out of my house. She was by the docks and I had to get there before she walked into the damn ocean.

I sped, I broke a few traffic laws but it was worth it to see Kassidy sitting on the ground with her shoes beside her.

Thank God, she listened to me for once. I thought as I sighed in relief and got out of the car and walked over to her.

"Can you stand?" I asked. She stood up and wobbled a little I reached out to steady her. She stepped away from me.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"No. I'm not supposed to be near you!" She said.

"Kassidy, you are drunk. Get in the car." I said.

She wobbled towards the water. I followed her.

"Kassidy! Get in the car, before you get hurt." I said and grabbed her hand pulling her backwards as she almost walked off the dock. She spun around and wobbled again

"Listen to me Jillian Kones! Because I am only gonna say this once!" She slurred out and then paused before turning around, dropping to her knees and vomiting into the water below. I sighed and crouched down to her and held her hair back until she finished. She curled up in a ball on the dock and just started crying.

"I'm dying. I'm going to die." She said.

"You aren't going to die, but you are going to feel like hell in the morning." I said and picked her carrying her to the car. I put her in the backseat and closed the door and got in and drove her back to my house.

I had been up all night, making sure she was okay. She was laying on my couch, with make up smeared all over the place, her hair a tangled mess, passed out, and smelling like a brewery but she was still the most beautiful damn thing that I had even seen and I dreaded the moment when she would wake up, because this moment would be gone.
