John's POV

I told my sisters to go to the guest rooms upstairs I wanted to be alone with the letters.

"Jakie?" I immediately knew it was Alexander. "Jakie please i-"

I cut him off "I saved every letter you wrote me...." I looked at him with dead eyes.

"From the moment I read them I knew you were mine...you said you were mine...I thought you were mine..."

"Do you know what Eliza said? When we saw your first letter arrive she said...'be careful with that one love he will do what it takes to survive...' "

I knew I shouldn't have trusted him. "You and your words flooded my senses your sentences left me defenseless..."

"You built me palaces out of paragraphs you built cathedrals...."

I didnt notice he sat on the other side of the bench were I was and he looked at me with sorry in his face.

"I'm re-reading the letters you wrote me....I'm searching and scanning for answers in every line! For some kind of sign! And when you were mine! The world seemed to burn..."

"Jakie please I need you to listen..." "I see how you look at my twin sister dont think I dont see the way you look at her!" "Jakie...."

"You published the letters she wrote to you! You told the whole world how you brought this girl into our bed in clearing you name! You have ruined our lives!"

"Do you know what Eliza said! When she read what you'd done! She said 'you have married and icarus he has flown to close to the sun!' "

I stand up in anger and scream the last sentence at him. I start to rage with anger.

"You and your words OBSESSED with your LEGACY! Your sentences bordered on senseless!"

I turn to him with anger filling my face. "And you are paranoid in every paragraph! How they perceive you!"

I shake my head when I read the letter he first sent me. "You yoU YOU!!" I look at him and I smile.

I put 2 letters I held and the rest in my other hand I held the 2 close to the fire his eyes widen as the catch on fire.

I'm smiling more at him now "I'm erasing myself from the narrative..." I stop smiling and let go of the 2 that were on fire and they burned.

"Let future historians wonder how John reacted when you broke his heart! You have torn it all apart I'm waching it! BURN!"

He looks at me tears in his eyes. "THE WORLD HAS NO RIGHT TO MY HEART! THE WORLD HAS NO PLACE IN OUR BED! THEY DONT GET TO KNOW WHAT I SAID!"

I throw about 4 letter in the fire. "IM BURNING THE MEMORIES! IM BURNING THE LETTERS THAT MIGHT HAVE REDEEMED YOU!"

I throw 5 in the fire. "YOU FORFIT ALL RIGHTS TO MY HEART YOU FORGIT THE PLACE IN OUR BED! YOU'LL SLEEP IN YOUR OFFICE INSTEAD! WITH ONLY THE MEMORIES OF WHEN YOU WERE MINE!"

I throw them all in with only one left and that's the last one the marriage one in my hand.

I read the last 7 letters over agian and I cry. I look at him and burn the last letter. "I hope that you burn..."

I stand there and he comes near me. "Jakie let me explain I-" "NO! I dont need your apologies..."

"Dont touch me. I dont want to hear your voice I dont want to see your face!"

Before in go back inside I tell him one last thing.

"Oh and its John to you..."
