Australia... It is the country which used to have my two favorites Chris Hemsworth (duh!!!) and Fraser Island!!! But now one more name is added to this list of my favorites and that name is *drumrolls* Claireaabell

Her stories A Quarter Mile Away and Full Speed Ahead are my one of my favorites because they are un - cliché, the perfect amount of drama in them and the best is because the leading lady rides motor cycles.

Me: Hi Claire!

Claire: Hey!

Me: Without any further ado, let's start with the interview because I am really excited about it.

Me: Tell us something about yourself.

Claire: I am Claire. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Both of my parents were born overseas in Lebanon. I have three other siblings and I’m a huge animal lover.

Me: Alright. I will make sure to visit you if I ever come to Australia.

Moving on, how did you get to know about Wattpad?

Claire: I was playing Episodes about four maybe five years ago, and one of the stories I came across was encouraging people to go read her story on Wattpad. I had no idea what Wattpad was so I went and downloaded it, have been here since then.

Me: It's really interesting to know how people get to know about Wattpad. Because everyone has a different story.

So, how do you get the motivation to write?

Claire: It may sound cliché but my readers give me the motivation. They make me want to write better than the last one.

Me: You are so sweet. Guys, give her a cheer!
You are a working woman so how do you manage your busy schedule along with writing?

Claire: Honestly, sometimes I don’t even know how I manage it.
I try to allow myself an hour a night Monday to Thursday, Friday’s I allow two hours. On Saturday's if I have nothing planned I spend half of the day writing... Especially if the creative juices are flowing.

Me: Thanks for sharing your schedule with us.

Who is your favorite author on or off Wattpad?

Claire: Off Wattpad, it would be Nicholas Sparks. He is my number one favorite author.
On Wattpad, I don't necessarily have any favorite. I think everybody should be treated equally here. I do have favorite novels. Sadly, I am not able to  read on Wattpad as much as I used to.
That's why I am a little out of touch with what's what haha!

Me: Never mind. 😊
Do you have any tip for the new writers?

Claire: Plan your story out in dot-point, doesn’t have to be in order. If you know what you want to write about but don’t know when, just dot it down.I found with Full Speed Ahead, I wrote each chapter in dot-point and then any extra “conversations” or “situations” I had, I’d place them in a seperate column. I found that I love Full Speed Ahead more than A Quarter Mile Away because of that extra step of planning my story before rushing into it.

Me: This is the exact planning I do. So guys, be organized and you have a great story.

Let's move to your books. Avery is a very strong character... How do you get inspiration for such characters? Do you connect with Avery?

Claire: I was raised to be strong and fearless by my parents. My mum always told us to never be afraid of people or what they might say about you. There are certain aspects of Avery’s character that were taken out of how I used to be at that age, so you could say that I definitely connect to Avery in more ways than one.

There are some aspects that were taken out of movies, shows and even music with the way they write their lyrics.

Me: I really respect your parents. I think every parent needs to teach their kids to be strong.

This question has been in my mind from the moment I decided to interview you.

The biggest challenge is to write about the emotions of a negative character but you depicted Noah's emotions very well. How did you pen his emotions?

Claire: It’s like watching “You” on Netflix, Joe is absolutely crazy and we know it but we can’t help but love him at the same time.

That’s how I wanted Noah to be. I wanted people to see past the actions he did and really try to think like Noah and understand his actions on a deeper level. I have read a lot of books and watched a lot of movies so each of these helped me navigate Noah and build the character that he is today.

Me: Of course I guess I am saying this on behalf of everybody that no matter how much I wanted to hate Noah there was a certain part of me that still thought that he was not only bad. This illusion broke at the end of Full Speed Ahead when Issac told everything to Avery. I guess you succeeded in what you wanted to portray.

Jaxon has always been the sweetest and supportive boyfriend. The type of guy every girl wants. Also he breaks the bad guy image... Is he inspired from someone from your real life?

Claire: Hahaha I wish! I am a single Pringle. Jaxon was invented thanks to my former boyfriends. I took certain attributes from each guy in my past, even guys I used to just have a crush on and formed Jaxon.

Me: So summing up, you are more of a good guy type girl. Thank God! I couldn't have managed another girl attracted to bad guys. 🙄

Ok... So Are you also attracted to guys with tattoos? Because almost every character in your story had a tattoo.

Claire: Hahaha yes! Tattoos are my bloody weakness! I can’t help it! Also, there is a chance that the next story will have someone with tattoos haha.

Me: Men with tattoos and glasses have a different kind of attractive aura around them. 😋😋

Will there be a prequel of AQMA when Avery was with Noah and how and why they broke up?

Claire: I have been on the fence about whether I want to create a prequel or not. It just depends if I’m able to form a good enough story in my head that I’d be happy with before I confirm or deny the idea of a prequel.

Me: Ok... But I think it would be good to have a prequel. Maybe in Noah's point of view.

What is the worst writer's block you have had?

Claire: It happened not long ago haha. I had five chapters left for Full Speed Ahead and I spent an entire week just staring at one sentence I had in the chapter. For the life of me, I could not draft a single word. It took me three weeks to get over the writers block.

Thank Goodness I have the best readers/followers because they were so understanding! Nothing is worse than when you’re struggling to write a chapter and you have people getting angry because there is no chapter up for them to read.

Me: Wattpad does has a very supportive audience. This is for you guys. 👏👏👏

In your stories the girl character always pledges never to fall in love but then can't help but fall in it. Why?

Claire: I guess it’s just a reminder to girls out there to not go searching for love. If you are actively looking for it, you won’t find it. So I base my characters on those who are not looking or wanting love. They have the mentally that “whatever happens, happens.”

Me: Very well said!!!

You portrayed Avery's bad relationship very beautifully. Did you had any bad relationship? What did you learn from it?

Claire: Yes I have. I learnt not to change who I was as a person just for that man to like or love me. I don’t have any regrets because every relationship in your life, whether it’s good or bad, teaches you and helps you grow as a person.

Me: Being who you are is very important. Man, I am learning a lot from you today. You are like a guru I need but I never had.

Claire: Hahaha thanks!!!

Me: This is a tough one. 😈😈

If you had to choose between Jaxon and Issac whom will you choose?

Claire: Hahahaha WHYYYY!!!!!! You can’t make me choose between them! I won’t do it! Haha. Sorry guys but I genuinely love both of those characters equally.

Me: You are the first one who doesn't has any favorite among their characters. I guess everybody else has.

Issac's plot was a bit shady. Are you planning on writing a spin off on him?

Claire: You’re a smart cookie! Haha
I’ll be honest, a spin off was something I had wanted for Isaac. I feel like a lot of the readers love Isaac and when he’s mentioned in the story. I’ve never written a whole story from a mans perspective so I’m stuck with the same issue as the prequel, whether I can create a good enough story, especially for Isaac.

Me: I think all of us would want one. Issac's fan give me a cheer!!!

If you had to give a face to Issac, Avery, Jaxon and Drew who will they be?

Claire: If I’m pushing aside certain details I’ve written (hair colour, eyes etc), I could picture the following:
Isaac - I had pictured a young Paul Walker from She's all That or Dominic Sherwood with the blonde hair in Shadow Hunters. 
Avery - Madison Beer, Barbara Pavlin or Hailey Steinfield.
Jaxon - Ryan Guzman
Drew - Drew’s a hard one bit maybe Daniel Sharman?
Also, with Noah, I can totally picture Zac Efron. I put forward that if AQMA is ever a movie, I want Zac Efron in it haha.

Oh sorry you were saying???!!!

Yeah about Zac Efron I promise we will force the director to choose Zac Efron whatever the case be..!!

Are you a phone addict?

Claire: Surprisingly no I’m not. I used to be but because I write my stories on my phone, when I’m not writing I don’t like using my phone.

Me: Ok. How did you get over your addiction? I seriously need some tips. Tired of getting an earful from my parents everyday!!! 🙄🙄🙄

Are you a day or night person?

Claire: Definitely a night person. I am not even a morning person.

Me: Wow... High five sista!!!

I am going to show this to my mom. She calls me an owl because I am a night person!! 🙄 Indian parents!!!

Moving on, What is a misconception that everyone has about your country?

Claire: That Kangaroos can be seen from your backyard and that we say “shrimp on a barbie”. I’ve only seen a kangaroo once in my life when I’m driving anywhere and we don’t even say shrimp, we just saw prawns haha.

Me: Haha!!!

What type of movies do you like?

Claire: Funny enough my favourite movies are horror and gore type movies.

Me: Okay, officially I love you. Be my best friend please!!! We can binge watch all the horror movies.

What are your other hobbies?

Claire: I love reading actual hard books. There is something special about holding a book and reading it. My book collection is insane.

I also love to play video games in my spare time, I’m a makeup artist on the weekends so that’s enjoyable as well.

Me: I would really like to go through your book collection some day. You are very interesting. I can just keep talking to you all the day.

So in the stories, Avery rides motor cycles. Are you a motor cycle enthusiast yourself?

Claire: I am, I love the look and sounds of motorcycles. I wish I was courageous enough to ride one but I’m a chicken sh*t so I lived my fantasy through Avery’s eyes.

Me: Well, never mind. But let me tell you that maybe initially you can hurt yourself but the adrenaline rush you get is worth everything. And this is coming from an experienced motor cycle rider.

And sadly, we are at the last question!!!
What is your dream goal on Wattpad?

Claire: I would love to be given the opportunity to be published as a novel, maybe even have a Netflix feature haha. I just want to be able to share my stories with the world.

Me: I am sure it will happen soon. Don't forget us if this happens!!!
