Me: Hi.

Sukanya: Hello. You don't have to look so scared, I don't have any gun with me today. 😉

Me: Oh... Thank God. <mumbling prayers to God>. Let's start with the interview.

Tell us something about yourself.

Sukanya: Hi I am Sukanya.🙋🙋
I will just sum up myself in two words: crazy and curious.

Me: Ohk so crazy Sukanya! <laughs alone at my bad joke>

How did you get to know about Wattpad?

Sukanya: Well I love Harry potter and was looking for fun facts related to it ... Clicked on something accidentally and that click got me to wattpad ...  Lol 😁😄

Me: Ahh... That fateful click.

What motivates you to write?

Sukanya: My idea of penning my thoughts down inspires me to write ... I write for myself.

Anything that sounds good in my head I pen it down and if in that process people actually start reading and appreciating my work there can be nothing better than that. 😀

Me: Who is your favorite author on or off Wattpad?

Sukanya: On wattpad I love Sarah Karim. crazywriter1116 I think she does an amazing job at making characters seem realistic.

Off wattpad I like Haruki Murakami's and Khaled Hosseini's works ... both have different writing styles so cannot pick one.

Me: I have not tried Sarah yet but I will definitely check it out.

What's your favorite book on and off Wattpad?

Sukanya: There are a lots of favorite books on Wattpad, but since I have to pick one, I would say "Hitched" by Sarah Karim.

Off wattpad  it will be The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Me: The Kite Runner indeed is an awesome book.

What are your hobbies other than writing?

Sukanya:  I like to paint,draw,cook and also day dream *insert a dreamy expression!!*

Me: The last one is everybody's hobby.

How do you manage your busy schedule along with writing?

Sukanya: I love writing but it takes a lot of thinking and time.
As a recent adult and an independent student who has to take care of self, work and school, I don't have the time allowance to prioritise writing. So I would say I don't think I am balancing I am just prioritizing. 😊😊☺️

Me: I totally understand. And we support you.
I kind of know the answer of this question but, what's the worst writer's block you have ever had?

Sukanya: I am experiencing the worst writer's block right now.😄😄
It's the worst because my own chores are clouding my ability to think and take out time for Wattpad writing.

Me: Don't worry. All of your readers support you and we wish that you get over this block as soon as possible. 😀

Tell us something fun and something distinctive about you?

Sukanya: Fun thing I like to maintain a cook book of my own, I have been doing that since I was a kid.

The distinct thing will be I see both visual art and writing deeply connected to one another... I try to incorporate my passion for painting with my fondness for writing.

Me: I am sure you must be a great cook. Please never meet my mom, she will taunt me all my life for not even knowing how to boil water. 🙄🙄🙄

What is the best and the worst comment on any of your books?

Sukanya: Best comment... I don't remember very vividly but yeah one very old and prominent reader of mine commented that my update made her feel refreshed for she had been feeling low early during the day. As of worst comment, I didn't get to experience that yet.

Me: Cross fingers you don't get to experience that anytime. 🤞🤞

If you had to suggest someone who is new on Wattpad to read one of your books... Which one would it be? And if you have to suggest someone else's book then which one would it be?

Sukanya: I definitely would recommend Pals Pandora, because I think it's funny and really light hearted. I couldn't manage to write a lot on Wattpad but whatever I did I tried to make the content as clear and descriptive as possible.

Me: Pals Pandora is the best book I have read that is based on FRIENDS.

Talking about which, PALS PANDORA is kind of inspired by FRIENDS so were you scared that references from FRIENDS can overshadow the book?

Sukanya: Not really afraid. I wanted people to relate to FRIENDS... I mean that was the whole point, these were just my thoughts.

Frankly I didn't care about it getting overshadowed... It was, and is supposed to be very light hearted comedy... Something that makes you smile.
To answer the over shadowing part, the characters do share similarities but are nowhere exactly the same as FRIENDS characters ...so you can still be reminded of FRIENDS but not forget the elements of 'Uniqueness' or 'Distinctiveness' in the characters of the book.

Me: You did maintain, the distinctiveness of the book. But Joy and Vidushi are quite a replica of Joey and Monica.

This was a work of collaboration with Mohini _Wild_n_Free_, how did you and Mohini decide to collaborate for a book together? How did you guys manage it?

Sukanya: I loved Mohini's works on Sandhir and then found out that she is a FRIENDS fan too.

Then this idea of mixing Sadda Haq with what we love i.e. FRIENDS came to my mind. I asked her if she would like to work on  a collaboration with me and she instantly agreed.

Me: And the rest is history...!

But having two writers for the same book comes with a lot of problems, one of them is creative differences, How did you two solve them?

Sukanya: We didn't have a lot of creative differences but if we had we solved them by listening to each other and trying to incorporate the most plausible ideas.

Me: That's the right way to approach it.

What is the funniest experience on writing the same book together?

Sukanya: Fun part that we used to discuss ideas and laugh on them. Predict how people would like it and if we found it funny then only we added them in the book.

Me: The book did turn out great.

Any tip for other writers who collaborate?

Sukanya:  All I would say is, collaborate only if you guys would share the same wavelength during the creative process and enjoy. I mean all that matters is if you enjoy or not. If you don't enjoy it then don't do it.
Also DON'T FIGHT please, creative differences are common but fighting about it again and again is ridiculous.

Me: Alright, that's a nice tip.

And now finally the two questions I really look forward to...

Among Sanyukta, Vidushi, Kritika and Tanya;

a. Who is more like you?
b. Which one would you befriend?
c. Whose quality are you not fond of?

Sukanya: It's a bit difficult one but Mohini warmed me about it so I am kind of ready. 😄😄

a. A mix of all the four bit more dominantly by Tanya and Vidushi ..I believe in living in the moment like Tanya but I also like to be prepared like Vidushi ...😅😂

b. Sanyukta ...A very wise person and a good listener.

c. Kritika for she is not very expressive,she is pretty reserved. She doesn't has a lot of dialogues... But that was intentional because we need a wallflower character as well. I don't dislike her but don't like her as much as the other seven.

Me: Okay. Now the next question,

If you had to choose between
a. Randhir and Parth?
b. Joy and Arjun?
Which one would it be?

Sukanya:
a. Lol. A difficult one😂😂
I would say Parth because I find him amazingly funny and dynamic as a character ...I find his transition from a  tortured husband to a drunkard fearless husband hilarious. 😂😂😂😂

b. Again difficult.
I would say Arjun... He has a clear boundary between absurdness and sense. I like that.
He is a little delusional when it comes to his plants and bonsai.

Let me tell you a funny thing, the idea of giving him a bonsai pet came from a friend of mine who loves plants and used to actually make me pat his plants and tell me their names. 😂😂😂

Me: Seriously, I mean I love plants but this much love is weird 🤪🤪

Can we expect a face reveal?

Sukanya: Hmm... I don't know.
I mean I didn't intend on creating any suspense in the first place for a face reveal thingy. But thanks for feeding that idea to me, may be when I write I can use that. 😋😉

Me: Hahaha sure.

And finally the question of whole Wattpad nation, when can we expect an update of PALS PANDORA 2?

Sukanya: Hahaha, even I think about it everyday.
But as soon as possible. I know that's very vague but as I talked about, all of us having a life outside of wattpad and priorities that need more attention... I want to update... And I will try my best to update.
