SIETE

Whoosh! Welcome to chapter seven. Yayyy!

I walked into the police station and went straight to the counter.
"Is Cop Martial Jacob in?"

The brunette standing infront of me nodded. She seemed to be a bit busy that she didn't even care to see who's speaking.

Whatever.

I scratched my hair for a short while and walked into his office. Martial had been in charge of my dad's case and we already had this familiarity that I could just walk into his office whenever I felt like.

"You should have knocked at least." His deep voice startled me.

"Ohh." My eyes fell on the cup of coffee on his table. I looked away and used my eyes to gather any piece of information I could. "Fan of coffee?" I asked.

"Mhmm." He replied.

He was looking into some papers while I walked around his office reading anything pasted on the walls or laying around.

Martial just met me after my dad's incident and concluded that I was quite a stubborn one cause I wouldn't let him do his job.

"Sit down Teresa. There's nothing you can get from walking around."

I frowned cause he was right. "Well, I wasn't offered a seat." I said turning to look at him.

He chuckled. "Such a stubborn girl."

I sat down on the sofa close to the exit of his office. "What're in those papers? Anything about my dad's bloody murderer?"

He heaved. "Not this time. There was another shoot out in that same street today."

I sat up. Could this be good news?

"A daughter of a notorious drug lord. She got injured though plus we couldn't get the hitman."

"How about the girl? Where's she? She should know..."I was talking faster than I was thinking.

"You would never expect a drug dealer to let his daughter be interrogated in a station. Her guards protected and drove off with her."

"So you lost her." I stared hard on the floor. "The hitman or whoever is working with him should be the same people who killed my dad."

He was silent for split seconds then he said. "Was your dad a drug dealer or associated with any..."

"Watch your fucking mouth Martial!" I took it personal immediately.

He took in a deep breath. "I mean, if we don't ask all these questions then we'd just be floating on nothing."

He's right.

"My dad would never do anything like that."

He sip from his cup of coffee and cleared his throat. "You can never be too sure...Teresa."

I stared hard at the floor...should I say I was scared? I was very close to my dad and I knew a lot about him but never saw him with recreational drugs. All his friends were ordinary people with normal families. No one looked like a drug addict or dealer. Come on, we even go to church together. Martial was messing with my head cause I began to doubt dad.

Even when I got friends that introduced me to marijuana, dad was really furious that day. I was like normal people do this shit. Why shouldn't I? But he told me not to cause getting addicted wasn't what he wanted for me.

"Aii..." I looked at Martial who was still looking deeply into those papers that it even stressed him. I needed to see whatever was on those papers.

"Have you remembered anything?" He asked with his attention still on those papers. "Help me and I'll help you too. We can track your dad's killer..."

"Cut it. I know my dad and he wasn't involved in any of..." then, I paused. Oh gosh. I just remembered that morning when we got into the bus.

" I know you care about me but I can't tell you this. Your mum knows some of what's going on? Maybe she'd tell you but I can't pin this problem on my children too."

I noticed Martial was already watching me closely. He knew I remembered something but I still wasn't sure and I couldn't trust him. He could just go interrogating my mom on her sick bed.

I stood up and walked close to his table. " Even if my dad was a drug dealer. What would it have mattered? He's dead, isn't it?"

"What're you doing Teresa?"

I was just being me.

The door flung open and the brunette said quickly. "Helwin just got in with some news about the shoot out earlier today."

Martial stood up quickly. "Where's he?"

"At the counter."

He fled out of the office. Wow, that shoot out should have really got him cause he was ready to pounce on answers forgetting that he was leaving me ALONE in his office.

I smiled and looked into the papers as fast as I could.
I tried to pronounce the name. "El Ca...Casi...Casirk. Who the hell is this?"

The drug lord maybe. There was more information about him that I couldn't read at that moment. I took a picture and checked the other papers.
"Jennifer Casirk." I called out again. That should be his daughter that got shot. I took more pictures and then my eyes fell on another name.

"De...Demortay...Demorte." I didn't know these people but whoever they were, I was going to do anything to kill the person that killed my dad even if it was a drug lord!

I took more pictures. To my favor, Martial wasn't back so I checked his drawer for more things and I saw a golden chain with a dragon head pendant. I took a picture of that too and still searched.

Teresa you should stop now. My subconscious always looking out for me. I drank from his coffee and walked out of his office. Wouldn't have accomplished anything without drinking that coffee.

"Jennifer sustained some injuries and she's in a hospital..."

I would have loved to listen to what they were saying but I didn't care. I just wanted to talk to my mom. Was my dad really a drug lord or into that? Couldn't even imagine it.

Teresa is actually funny lol. Oh well, don't forget to click on the star and comment. Ciao x.
